• Accessing TCP stream from arbitrary port over cellphone proxy (WAP)

  I'm using cricket QA30 which has a default proxy setting redirect 8080 at wap.mycricket.com which allows me to access http on port 8080 through internet explorer. I would like to access a TCP stream on an arbitrary port, and I think maybe if I get the socks "advanced setting" to work in Control Panel - Internet Options to work I have a shot at it. Do you have any ideas?

• What should I do about com.apple.quarantine?

  I've downloaded some .jar files from the internet and want to use them under Mac OS X. But the OS seems to have tagged them with the extended attribute com.apple.quarantine (no indication of this until I noticed the "@" in the ls -l and figured out how to use ls -l@) -- apparently because they have been downloaded from the internet. What's the right way to deal with this?

  I currently have a WAG120N( http://www.linksysbycisco.com/EU/en/support/WAG120N) router and I would like to know if it's possible to configure it to connect to a different wireless network(WEP with no password) so I can get internet access on it and then to connect a pc to this router(WAG120N) so I can take advantage of the internet connection. Basically I think that my need is a kind of yagi antenna but as I already got this router I would like to know if I can use instead it of yagi . Thank you in advance for any answer !

  when viewing a television program using Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome/SeaMonkey/Safari it constantly pauses unless I have some kind of activity with either the mouse or the keyboard. The browser with the least amount of problems is SeaMonkey, the one with the most is Internet Explorer. Annie idea of what is causing this or how to prevent it? My finger gets rather tired watching a two-hour movie! :-) Thank you. Ross

  My cron jobs are trying to mail their results using the local mail feature of Ubuntu (not internet email, the kind of mail you can read with mutt). However, /var/log/syslog reports /USR/SBIN/CRON[19212]: (speedtax) MAIL (mailed 52 bytes of output but got status 0x0006 ) I would like to setup local mail (so that cron can deliver the output successfully) but do not want to setup internet email. When I try to open pages which are associated with Microsoft (like Live and others), my browser crashes; Internet Explorer 8 crashes too.   I have experienced this issue mainly with Excel, Word and Powerpoint 2013, where there is constant pop-up box asking for login credentials as it tries to connect to officeimg.vo.msecnd.net I have searched and found one of the solution, to prevent Office from connecting to the internet (Options Trust Center Settings Allow Office to connect to internet). This solution worked for sometime, but am back to square one again. Solutions are sought, as this is a nagging problem, I am sure others would have experienced the same.
