    I'm looking for a complete list of security guidelines for programming and deploying PHP web sites and applications on an Apache (Linux) server. Basically, a "security check list" to run through before finishing a project. I.e., Cross Site Scripting Cross Site Request Forgery Sanitize form data that goes into database Disable register globals and error reporting in custom php.ini Upload files below web root ...(the list goes on) I did some searching on the internet and in this forum, but couldn't find a comprehensive, succinct, and complete list of guidelines.   • Google Chrome Automatically Save Passwords

    I have seen, and at one point implemented, methods of modifying firefox's password manager popup such that it would automatically save usernames and passwords without prompt. I was wondering if there is a similar feature for Chrome. I just recently switched to chrome and it is one of a few features/modifications that didnt survive the transition, and while I am moderately capable in programming in certain languages (C+, visual etc) I don't really feel confident enough to muck around unguided. For anyone that is particularly interested, the other features I miss are things such as the slash based 'quick search' in firefox... and I am currently annoyed by a different right click menu order for opening in new tabs and new windows (the reverse of firefox). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    We were brought a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium setup for greek language speakers. The installed languages and keyboards are: English (US), as default, and Greek. There is also installed Microsoft Office 2007 greek and Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 greek. When the user tries to write intonated letters such as "?, ?" in office or the IE, instead of the correct letter the result is: ``a and not ? Do you need any other information on the system or what are the suggestions to search for the cause of this problem?

    Im trying to make a program that captures a video from the webcam and sound from the microphone but im getting stuck at the part where ive try to make a movie out of still images ive heard you need to use directshow but it doesnt jet work for me Does someone know a good piece of example code that captures video and sound and can encode it to a file (divx or something like that) ? or some suggestions where to look so i can build it myself (if a other programming language is better for this im happy to know it early. )

  • Debug assertion does not prompt in IIS 7

    Hi, since moving to Windows 7 (IIS 7.5), the debug assertions do not prompt a pop up dialog anymore. I have tested this in a separate project, and noticed that they do work when using the integrated Visual Studio Developer server (Cassini) but they do not work when using IIS Web Server. This is a big issue for us since we are counting on debug assertions to identify potential programming errors, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Eyal.

  • Two keyboards - one qwerty one dvorak. Can windows use both simultaneously?

    Similar to this question: Is it possible to use multi keyboards with multi keyboard layouts simultaneously? - I have two keyboards plugged in simultaneously. Both are querty keyboards, but I've rearranged the keys on one to be a dvorak layout. I'd like to find some way to configure windows (XP) such that while both keyboards are plugged in, typing on each results in it's respective layout. I'd prefer if there was someway to have the system automatically use the desired layout based on which USB keyboard it is receiving input from. If no such solution is possible, I would settle for a fast way of switching between US English and US English Dvorak languages so that in a pinch I can easily go from one to the other. Thanks.

  • Good C++ Debugging/IDE Environment for Linux?

    I have a friend who is trying to make the switch to Linux, but is hung up on the apparent lack of debugging/IDE environments for C++, especially as they relate to template programming. He has been using visual studio for years and is maybe a little spoiled by their awesome IDE. Does anyone have any good suggestions for an environment where he can, under Linux, develop and debug with all of the usual things (Breakpoints, line highlighting for compilation errors, step in/over/out/etc, etc) that he's accustomed to? I understand it has to do with hibernate locking strategy, but my concern is that today is Sunday, and the site has almost no visitors so is: is this normal ?   • Running two Magentos installations, one of which has 3 stores set up as multi-store. Which server?

    I want to run 4 Magento stores in 2 different installations. 1 is a standalonne installation with 3 languages. The other is a multi-store with 3 different online stores in different domains. At the moment we have a VPS with 1GB memory, would that be enough? I ask because I've finished the standalone store and already put it online, and the server is already running on 62% memory. The ideal would be that this is enough as my company wouldn't like to move to a Dedicated Server (as it involves costs). I'm sure I can try to optimize Magento to run on lower memory (I'm expecting visits averaging 2000/day on all sites), if I could have some tips on the best way to do that Id appreciate it too.
