• Read data from a Gif

  hi, i have a requirement to read data from a gif. The gif is exported from a Bloomberg terminal and contains Stock Prices. Is there anyway of reading the Stock Prices off this gif? • Can I format a USB key in GUID mode in windows 7 to make it Mac OSX boot friendly?

  I have a macbookpro that wont boot properly. I've tried resetting the PRAM (holding down option - alt - P - R), but it doesn't work, it gets halfway through the boot process and says "You need to restart your computer" in several languages. Recently I downloaded a USB Key compatible Linux OS. This USB Key works as a boot loader on Windows machines, but on OSX it can only find the Harddrive partitions when I go into the boot loader menu (holding down Option on startup). I am assuming it is because it is formatted as FAT32, and not GUID Table. I believe my CD drive is also bust, it hasn't worked in a long time. I don't have another Mac computer, so is there a way I can format the USB key as GUID Partition from a windows 7 machine?

  How do I get the websites that I visit to stop localizing the language probably according to my IP location? This is an website specific issue because, for example economist.com and superuser.com do not do it, but Google Checkout and craigslist.org are doing it. Is there a way to setup Ubuntu and Firefox so that English will always be used for all web pages displayed? Edit: Of course many webpages have a link to an English version, but sometimes they don't. For example I believe such links usually appear on the root resource but sometimes I see non-English languages on child resources where such links do not appear. Example: most Blogger.com blogs appear in English but when I go to the blogger's profile ("view my complete profile"), it appears in another language that matches my geographic location.

None of the tutorials that I found show one how to serve multiple FCGI services off one server. How would one configure the stable nginx (nginx-0.7.64) to serve multiple FCGI processes (one for each of the above languages)? Example addresses for each FCGI process are as follows: 127.0.0.1:8080 - PHP 127.0.0.1:8081 - Python 127.0.0.1:8082 - Perl 127.0.0.1:8083 - Ruby on Rails An example configuration file that shows one how to implement multiple FCGI's off one server is really what I need. Perhaps others will benefit as well.

I'm running Mac OSX and each time I try to run layoutopt, for example, the terminal returns, *-bash: cmd: command not found * Also, is it okay to have my SDK located in the Developer directory and my android project in some unrelated directory when using these tools?

• Modifying text files and executing programs with command line parameters in c# or c++ on Linux

  I have a need to create a utility in Suze Linux. The utility will make modifications to some text files, and then use the information in those text files to program a device in the computer using a different executable which accepts command line parameters. I am fluent in c#, but have never worked with Linux. Should I take the time to learn Gnu C++ to do this, or install Mono? How would I execute the programming utility and pass it command line parameters?
