What is the easiest way to tell IIS7 to restart Coldfusion Server at set time intervals (every 6 hours for example) without paying for something like Service Hawk?
For some reason my localhost is not recognized.
I have this in my hosts file as I've always had:
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
I did do a flushdns, not sure if that caused it. Then I tried a /registerdns in the command prompt.
I still have the same issue.
I have a folder where I store all my web icons in .png and .ico format. I set view to large icons and sort by to date modified -> descending.
When I save new icons in this folder from web, I drag and drop them from browser (chrome) to the folder. The problem is after that the icons in the folder are not sorted by date modified descending any more...
So how can I set any file or program or something that will set the sort by to date modified -> descending for that folder only each time I will access (open) the folder?
I am using window 7 x64.
I have registered URI scheme for my app. When I open it with "Run.." or in browser, it runs in hosted directory. For ex. Ive opened url in webpage, program's working dir is in browser.
What I want?
I want to run program test.exe located at
C:\data\test.exe
and to use dir.
C:\data
so it could use other data in relative path.
so test.exe would access file .\file.txt without using absolute path
Hope I wrote it understandable, sorry for bad English.
I am using a multi-touch HP PC, and I want to disable the on-screen keyboard that pops up when a text input field gets focus.
This is the same keyboard as when you touch the left side of the screen.
Is there a way to disable this keyboard?
I've recently had trouble with explorer.exe not working. I found a possible solution here, using sfc.exe. The problem is that I cannot "right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator", since explorer.exe does not work for even a second without crashing. I tried to use the runas command to open cmd as administrator, but I get an error 1327 because I have a blank password.
My question is, is there any other way to run cmd.exe with admin privileges? If not, is there any way to run sfc.exe without admin privileges? If not, does anyone have solution to my original problem of explorer.exe stopping and restarting ad nauseam?
Dear friends !
Please help me resolve very stupid question:
Here is situation:
OS: 2008 R2, DHCP service, 2 NICs
So, the main goal is to make two scope on DHCP service, each of scope will link to each of NIC.
Any ideas ? O_o
Thanks !
PS Don't ask to reinstall onto Linux,FreeBSD :)
I set up this computer with a Local account.
I have linked it to my 'primary' Microsoft account - which is used in the Mail and Store apps. There are no other accounts linked at this time.
I wish to use the Messaging app with a different Microsoft account. However, Add an account only lets me add a Facebook account! I don't want to remove or change my primary Microsoft account, since I do not wish to use the Messaging account with any other services.
I have a scheduled backup that backs up the shared files and system state. It is set to run as "normal" mode. However, when it runs it only makes a 2K size file when it should be like 60GB.What rookie mistake am I making?
We have a program that compiles executables into a folder into c:\bin. Ideally I would like to share this folder so users can access the exe's within but stop them creating any other files in there. The reason for this is to stop users grabbing source code and putting it in a shared drive then taking it.
We have a Domain Controller setup and all the users belong to a specific security group.
Is there any way to achieve this?
EDIT: TO clarify, I need to stop users from creating or moving files INTO the C:\bin folder which are not executables.
I am trying to setup Continuous Integration in our office. Being a puny little developer I am facing this supposedly infamous problem:
" Source control operation failed: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://trunkURL': Server certificate verification failed: issuer is not trusted"
So I tried the following solution
- Run CC.NET service (server running as win service) using a domain account (rather than default LOCAL SYSTEMS) and accept cert permanently using command prompt under that user by using svn log/list on the repo.
Doesn't help :(. I am getting the following from my artifact/log files(or dashboard)
ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Core.CruiseControlException: Source control operation failed: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://TrunkURL': Server certificate verification failed: issuer is not trusted (https://ServerAdd)
. Process command: E:\(svn.exe Path) log https://TrunkURL -r "{2010-11-08T02:12:20Z}:{2010-11-08T02:13:21Z}" --verbose --xml --no-auth-cache --non-interactive

We are using VisualSVN Server and CC.NET for this adventure. Tips, suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks
I have the following configuration:
Box 1. Running Win 7, connected to the Internet via Eth0. Has one wireless network adapter and one another ethernet adapter (say, Eth1).
Box 2. Running Win XP, has one ethernet adapter.
I'd like to share Internet connection of the Box 1 with Box 2 via cable and have box 1 also sharing the Internet with other wireless devices. I don't want to buy any additional hardware. Is it possible?
PS: Sorry if I'm unclear. I merely know nothing about NAT and network administration.
I would like to setup the Remote Desktop Connection Broker to allow better load balancing of the two terminal servers we have as well as allowing the user to re-establish to the correct server if they get disconnected.
My worry is, if I set this up and the server this service is running goes down, does the terminal server stop accepting connections or will they just lose the benefit of having RDCB turned on? I don't want to add another point of failure in this equation unless I have to.
Hi,
I have a Dell pc and when I ran the Vista installation disk which came with the machine, there is no obvious reference to the disk manager where you can add/delete partitions.
Can someone please explain how to find this? Is this an issue with the PC vendor or Microsoft?
Thanks
I'd like to create a settings file for my logman command. I expect to have lots of perfmon counters.
Is there any easy way to get all the perfmon counters' exact text anywhere?
The only thing I thought of was to create a Perfmon Counter Log through the GUI and then export the list of selected counters--but I don't see an export option! I guess I could manually copy what I see on the screen, but that seems inefficient. I'm going to be dealing with tens of counters.
Maybe there is a list somewhere? That'd be easier to copy and paste from.
I'm trying to add a second hard drive within Virtual PC without formatting it.
I followed the instructions for adding a second hard drive but when I add go the the Computer ManagementDisk Management console it wants to format it.
The reason I want to add this second hard drive is that it has data on it that I want available to this instance of Virtual PC
I have an existing site at my.site.com and I would like to setup a staging subdomain (staging.my.site.com). I have my DNS setup and directing staging.my.site.com to my server, but for some reason the Web Site I created in IIS for it is not being hit. Instead when I go to staging.my.site.com it takes me to the original site.
The site I created in IIS has a home directory that is totally different from the regular sites home directory. I have added one host header with the following information:
IP Address: (All Unassigned)
TCP port: 80
Host Header Value: staging.my.site.com
I was under the impression that with the setup I described above hitting staging.my.site.com through a web browser would bring up the staging site, but it does not. Can anyone see what I am doing wrong?
UPDATE:
One thing I noticed is that in my A record I am mapping to the IP Address ( lets say 1.1.1.1 for this example). In the host headers for the main site (my.site.com) it has 1.1.1.1 as an entry. Is this normal? Could it cause the problem I am talking about?
While accessing the server, the error comes:
Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.
I am logging in from Administrator in XP machine, able to access server from other machines. Is there any problem with administrator profile??
Assuming the components like *.dll's, *.ocx's installed and registered on the clients there exists the possibility to place the *.exe and some related files on the fileserver. To start the application there are links on the client's desktops which runs the \fileserver\AppPath\exe.
Would you agree with such a layout?
What if 'the client' is a terminal-server and 'the clients' means a terminal-server-farm?
The explorer.exe process on my Vista x64 has started using a lot of CPU recently. Restarting the process typically solves the problem.
Is there a simple way to inspect the process to see where (threads, modules) the high CPU load is spent?
I'm able to launch the snipping tool, select an option and then copy based on my selection. Is there a way to launch a default snipping option so that I can create partial screen screenshots without using a third-party tool?
Essentially, I'm looking for winkey+S without having to use OneNote.
Both OneNote and SnagIt implement this perfectly. If OneNote is running, pressing winkey+S allows me to click and drag any portion of the screen, including pop-out menus with selections that are active. SnagIt does almost the exact same thing, invoked by the prt screen key.
I recently purchased a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator, and I'm trying install the TI Connect software in order to connect the calculator to my computer via the USB cable. Unfortunately, I'm getting this error while trying to install the program:
Error 1303. The installation has insufficient privileges to access
this directory: E:\Data\Timothy\Documents\MyTIData. The installation
cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system
administrator.
However, my account is the only account on my PC, and it has administrative privileges. I've also tried running the installer with Run as Administrator, but with no luck. If I create the folder MyTIData manually, I receive this error:
Error 1317. An error occurred while attempting to create the
directory: E:\Data\Timothy\Documents\MyTIData
I've reapplied the security settings to the E:\Data folder (and all its sub-directories) to Full for my account. I've also gone into Computer Management, and given SYSTEM full privileges for the entire disk. I've also logged out, logged back in, restarted, etc. but still, no luck.
Now, I should mention that my Documents folder is not at the default location. I changed it due to my C: disk being a 90GB SSD, so I moved all my personal data onto the extra storage disk (which is ~1TB). I don't know if that is causing the issue, but it can't hurt throwing it out there.
So why can't I install this program? Google'ing the problem brings up this error for various other installers (such as Visual Studio and Microsoft Office), but nothing for TI Connect. All the solutions are the same: Give the folder Full privileges...but I've already done this! I've also tried running the installer with and without the calculator plugged in, but it didn't change anything. In the prompt that contains the error, repeatedly clicking Retry or waiting a few moments before clicking Retry also produces no result.
There is an external hard drive that is set up as a shared media device for a TV. I tried to hook up my the library on my desktop as a shared media drive to watch movies from my computer on the TV.
It worked for a little bit but about 5 seconds after getting into my computer the tv went blank and I couldn't access the external hard drive any more. When I checked on my computer the Hard drive was no longer a shared media device but now it was a computer on the network.
How do I fix this and turn it back into a shared media device so I can access it on the TV?
I'm tired of the multi-step process to set my preferred folder options on every server to which I log on (Mostly Win2008, but also some 2012 and Win7 here and there). I'd love to be able to script the process, but unfortunately, I can't find any commands or extensions to do so for folder options.
There are several settings I'd like to change, but in particular, I'd like to set "Hide file extensions for known file types" to false. I figure that if I can do that, I'll be able to manage any additional settings on my own.
Methods that work on the vanilla command line would be preferred, but if there are commands in PowerShell, I'll use that.
