    i have a situation here, i bought a new dell xps 15z and was successful in making drive partitions through the help of this site (http://superuser.com/questions/313082/dell-xps-15-l502x-hard-drive-partition) now i have drive C with 100.55gb and a new volume with 578.45gb im planning to use EaseUS again to undo this and resize my drive C but im scared i might cause damage to my drive, is there a proper way to undo this and transfer the remaining 78.45gb from the new volume back to my drive C again? please help

  • Server vendor that allows 3rd party disks

    As noted here, Dell is no longer allowing 3rd party disks to be used with their latest servers. As in, they don't work period. Which means that if you buy one of these boxes and want to upgrade the storage later, you have buy disks from Dell at significant premiums. Dell has just given me a very strong reason to take my server business elsewhere. My company buys (instead of leasing) our servers, and typically uses them for 5 years. I need to be able to upgrade/repurpose storage periodically, and do not want to be locked in to whatever Dell might have in stock, at inflated prices to boot. As you will see in the comments of the above link, it seems HP is doing the same thing. I am looking for a server vendor that offers 3-5 year warranty with same day/next day onsite service, and allows me to use 3rd party disks. Suggestions?

  • Is there a way to force spam-filter to change their policy or remove them as recognized spam service?

    As per mxtoolbox I got 1 blacklist still active for quite sometime now. UCEPROTECTL1's is running on 7 day policy since last spam mail. This is too strict compared to the 98 other spam filters out there as per mxtoolbox. (Or at least to the other 4 that detected the problem) I have no problem with our e-mail since it is hosted locally. But our domain is hosted outside the country and it run on a different IP. I contacted them but since it is the spam-filter's rule, there's nothing to be done but wait. I do believe services like spam-filters should at lease be bounded by guidelines and standards for this matter. Otherwise problem on delivering valid (after the fix) e-mails will be disastrous. Is there a way to force UCEPROTECT to change their policy or remove them as recognized spam service? Apart from contacting them in case they do not answer. Currently they are charging for fast removal if you pay by PayPal. I'm still looking for guideline/standard on how they should operate regarding this matter. Appreciate the help.

    I would like to pack the content of a directory into an ext4 partition image easily, without mounting a loop device. Background: I am building a version of Android which will mount system partitions as a loop device for ARM. Though I can create those partition images by hand using loop devices, it is very troublesome. I want to use an sh script to automatically do the work, and without needing to loop mount the dd-created image and use cp -rp. The best is to directly pack the files into an image file. Question: Is there any simple command-line tools without needing loop mount and root permission that can pack files into an ext4 partition image?

    The page: How to Install PHP 5.2 on IIS 7and Windows Vista (and a few others) reference a mysterious php5isapi.dll which is not in the Windows install, or the zip files: php-5.3.2-Win32-VC9-x86.zip - VC9 x86 Thread Safe php-5.3.2-nts-Win32-VC9-x86.zip - VC9 x86 Non Thread Safe There was another post on stackoverflow that said it's obsolete and replaced by "fastapi" but no instructions mention this. I did find a php.dll in the zip file. Can I use that instead of php5isapi.dll? It's very frustrating trying to install basic PHP5 on Windows with MySQL.

    I'm trying to install PHP on Windows 7 Home Premium using these instructions: Using FastCGI to Host PHP Applications on IIS 7 and a 1/3 of the way down on the page I have to do this: Server Manager -> Roles -> Add Role Services and just cannot find Roles or Role Services. Any ideas? PHP is giving me a 500 error and I'm wondering if it's because I haven't done this role services thing.

  • USB 3.0 hard disk not detected on a particular host controller?

    I have a USB 3.0 hard disk which has always been working on my desktop with an XHCI. Now I just bought a notebook with an XHCI (something with Intel's Ivy Bridge setup). The first time I plug the hard disk in its 3.0 port it is detected and working. A few hours later I try to connect it again, but seems that the notebook just ignored it! The light on the hard disk didn't blink as usual (instead it is hold at on). I then tested it with my desktop again and it is working perfectly. It gets trickier when I plug it in the USB 2.0 port of that notebook it is detected and working perfectly (despite the slower speed). Then I try to plug in an USB 2.0 USB flash drive to that USB 3.0 port, and it is detected (of course as USB 2.0). So, there are two USB 3.0 ports on my notebook's XHCI. Both of them are not working with my hard disk but working perfectly fine with my USB 2.0 UFD. What's wrong with it? When I plug in the hard disk, device manager doesn't change. I've tried re-installing the driver for the XHCI, but it changes nothing. Had I broke the USB 3.0-specific pins of both USB 3.0 ports?

  • Does PHP *have* to serialize/unserialize session data between each HTTP request? Or is there a sett

    I think I understand why sessions are evil but for snappy client user experience I don't want to have to re-query the database on each HTTP request. (As a comparision, Java servlets can effortlessly keep tons of session objects in memory.) Can PHP be set to do this or does it have to serialize because it runs from CGI/FastCGI and therefore by definition is a new process each time a request comes in? I will be running PHP using LAMP.

    For example, cell A1 contains the text "Hello World" which is in bold. In cell A2, I use the formula =A1. Therefore cell A2 now also contains "Hello World", but it is not in bold. How can I modify the formula to also copy the formatting (in this case, bold) of A1? A more complex example is strikethrough properties, i.e. A1 contains "Orange/Red". How do I show the same content in cell A2 dynamically, so that any changes made in A1 will update A2 as well?

  • HDD not detected whenever first power on (detected at BIOS level)

    I am using Asus P8H61-M LX Motherboard with latest version of BIOS: 4401 One SATA-3 Western Digital Black Series 1.5TB is attached to SATA port 0 A Samsung 22x DVDRW SATA drive attached to SATA Port 1. ps/2 Logitech mouse and keyboard. CPU is i3 with DDR3 8Gb RAM. no other devices are installed. My problem is that when I turn on the computer, the WD HDD is not detected. ie cannot be booted. I have to press ctrl+alt+del in order to get it detected. I'd used the WD data lifeguard software to scan the HDD, the smart status is OK, the surface scan does not show any error at all. Where did I do wrong? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    I am running Nagios 3.2.3 on CentOS 5.7 32bit and I have a bit of a problem scheduling timeperiods. Please help me. Objective, to stop monitoring during server restart (since the server will be restarted and will be restarted automatically because of updates and system backup). The restart is scheduled every 1st Sunday of every month. My monitoring runs 24x7 but during restarts I want to stop the monitoring and resume after 30 mins. So every 1st Sunday I want my schedule to be 00:00-11:30,12:00-24:00. This means that it will stop at 11:30 and resumes on 12:00nn. If I set this on every Sunday there is no problem. But if I set this time on every 1st Sundays, it stops at 11:30 but resumes on the next day (Monday) and not on 12:00nn Sunday. I don't know what I am missing. If I set on regular weekdays there is no problem. But on Offset weekdays (1st Sunday) it doesn`t work the way it should have.   • How to correctly pass a float from C# to C++ (dll)

    I'm getting huge differences when I pass a float from C# to C++. I'm passing a dynamic float wich changes over time. With a debuger I get this: c++ lonVel -0.036019072 float c# lonVel -0.029392920 float I did set my MSVC++2010 floating point model to /fp:fast wich should be the standard in .NET if I'm not mistaken, but this didnt help. Now I cant give out the code but I can show a fraction of it.     I have a Java class which uses Apache POI to generate reports in Excel. When I run the Java class from my IDE or command prompt, I only see warning messages from LOG4J as below: log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.commons.beanutils.converters.BooleanConverter). log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly. log4j:WARN See http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/faq.html#noconfig for more info. Despite the warning messages, the report was generated successfully. But when I run it from my web app, which uses JSP and submits the form to a Servlet which calls the Java class, the Java class seems to have problems setting the style properties to the cell.   • How to switch from MSSQL to MySQL for using with Excel pivot

    Hi all, I have a table that contains sales transaction (~20 mil rows). Previously I used MSSQL and export it to an Excel pivot. Data refresh took 10-15 minutes but still do-able. However, after I migrated to MySQL (using XamppLite & ODBC), it took forever to refresh the data in the Excel pivot. Maybe I didn't optimize the MySQL good enough ?   • javascript turn single line break to double line break

    Hm... I'm trying to convert single line break into double line break, as in This is a sentence. This is another sentence. into This is a sentence. This is another sentence. Apparently this doesn't work ThisContent = ThisContent.replace(/(\n)/gm, "\n\n"); since it replace everything, including double line breaks. What's the regex to do this?

  • return a php associative array to javascript array

    I am trying to return a php associative array to javascript array through ajaxRequest.responseText Here's what I do. First in php, I do this: $encoded = json_encode($thisarray); echo $encoded; If I echo $encoded, I get {"a":"apple,arrow","b":"boy,bank","c":"cat,camp"} Then in js script, thisarray = new Array(); thisarray = ajaxRequest.responseText; If I alert thisarray, I get {"a":"apple,arrow","b":"boy,bank","c":"cat,camp"} That's wrong since alerting an array should give error. But in this case, when I alert thisarray, I get the full array!! Needless to say, I can't call my value out of thisarray, since it is yet defined as an array. Anyone can tell me what am I missing here?

  • javascript replace i into I

    I need a javascript to replace i into I. This should apply to cases such as i'm good. So am i. He though i love him. The standard ThisContent = ThisContent.replace("i", "I"); doesn't work because it replaces every i. I also thought of ThisContent = ThisContent.replace(" i ", " I "); but it doesn't work for the first and second case. Any idea?
