Hey guys Im having trouble with iAds in landscape mode This is part of my code: banner = [[ADBannerView alloc]init] ; banner.currentContentSizeIdentifier = ADBannerContentSizeIdentifier480x32; [self.view addSubview:banner]; [banner release]; But is not working for me, it gives me error, gives me a SIGABRT error in the second line of the code. I want to be able to send messages to users of network that my computer routes to. Modifying requested pages, by adding messages like Warning: this access point is going down soon" or Network quota exhausted or You are overusing the network connection and may be banned or Security notice: this is unencrypted network, so everybody around can see this page too It seems the only good solution (as there is no general "Send notice to users of my access point" thing). All traffic is already routed through -j REDIRECT, socat and remote SOCSK5 server, so intercepting unencrypted content should be easy. How it's better to add a message? Just inserting <div style="color:white; background-color:red">Sorry, connect_me access point is going down soon...</div> as the first element of <body> breaks design of some pages (f.e. Wikipedia). I want pass a parameter of javascript functiona which is a string. This javascript function is a hintbox on mousehover.. and the string i am using is like this: Hemmed Finish: Every side/edge (1/2" to 2") of the banner are folded and glued (special vinyl solution) or heat pressed. This is the most common and best finish option. Stitched Finish: Every side/edge (1" to 2") of the banner are folded in the back and stitched/sewed with white thread. This is not a common option as thread can be seen on the banner. Now in the hintbox on mousehover the above given text has to be display as it is displayed above along with the paragraph break.. But when i pass the above as parameter in that function along with appending some backslashes to recognise some punctuation, iots till gives me javascript error of unterminated string... Should I be using WAI-ARIA in my website builds? Will it have any benefit? Is anyone adding 'role' to their code at the moment? The tab, link, checkbox and slider roles, plus many more, aren't available yet for HTML5. From looking at the list of what is available (see below), and what will be coming in the future, it looks like we might be applying roles to a huge amount of tags on our pages. Its not an issue especially if it brings benefit to users using readers etc Also, a side question, will search engines give any benefits to sites using WAI-ARIA? What is the best website width? [on hold]

What is the best website width? I can't decide between 1200px max-width and 1236px....with 300px sidebar as enough or 320px? I personally like wide website, my current website is 1236px; but I hear it's considered very wide for eyesight and all those gadgets keeping in mind... The website is for reading - I mean, mostly articles with around 3000 words on average per page, so no matter - whether they look wide, whether they love to scroll down :) Also - what to decide about Banner size / sidebar? Probably the 300px I can put a 300px banner, but on 320px sidebar I could put 336px banner, if necessary...

Hi , I used jquery tools tooltip and i positioned icons 30 px under flash banner . The problem is when i hover icons , tooltips hide under flash banner , I gave high z-index to the tooltip div or other parent div in order position that above flash banner, but no difference . Is there any way to overcome this problem ? At the bottom picture , The green section is flash file and as you can see part of tooltip is hidden

Blueprint CSS & Boks: strange behavior with prepend and append in FF and Chrome

Hi, I am working a bit with Blueprint CSS framework and I stumbled upon Boks. I am pretty unfamiliar with the BPCSS framework, but it seems that when using prepend and append, Firefox and Chrome (both) are not liking the input. I generated the code from Boks and for my newbe eye-sight, I can't directly see what went wrong in the export. How to find out style of NSUserNotification during run-time? Or force close an alert?

According to "OS X Mountain Lion Release Notes" (https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#releasenotes/Cocoa/Foundation.html), "The user has ultimate control over what notifications are displayed, and the style (banner, alert, etc). There is no mechanism to override the user preferences." Even though all I want to do is "downgrade" from alert style to banner style... Fine. But can I at least find out whether a notification is of alert or banner style inside the didActivateNotification method? The reason I want to do that is to respond differently according to notification.activationType. When the alert is a banner (which is what I want), clicking its contents is the only possible action, and this both triggers didActivateNotification method and closes the notification banner. When the user chooses alert-style notifications, clicking the alert contents also generates didActivateNotification with the same value of notification.activationType, but it stays on screen instead of going away (it only goes away when the Action button is pressed). I don't want my app to trigger an action repeatedly for the same alert notification, in case the user clicks the content area of an alert notification. An alternative solution would be to force the alert notification bubble to dismiss when the user clicks its contents. Is this possible?

How to make flash movie (an advertising banner) ignore <param name="wmode" value="transparent">? There are some CMS systems which insert flash movies automatically with transparent wmode option. Flash Player ignores banner's background color, makes it transparent and displays it on web page background. I can workaround it using additional layer at the bottom with a large rectangle of desired color, but I think it is inefficient and inelegant. How to do this better?

Javascript execution order

I want to give a static javascript block of code to a html template designer, which can be: either inline or external or both used once or more in the html template and each block can determine its position in the template relative to the other javascript code blocks. An example could be image banners served using javascript. I give code to template designer who places it in two places, once for a horizontal banner in the header and once for a vertical banner. The same code runs in both blocks but knowing their positions can determine if to serve a horizontal or a vertical image banner. Make sense?

deny iframe javascript to scroll parent window

I've a site with banner ads, loaded using iframes. The banner ads always scroll the parent window when the banner doesn't complety fit into the visible region. This is really annoying and I'd like to deny the javascript of the iframes to scroll the main window. Here is what I already tried: Move the iframe src code to another domain. Normally js from another domain should not be allowed to access the parent window, is it?! This doesn't work. Overwrite window.moveTo, window.scrollTo, window.scrollBy in parent with my own functions. This doesn't seem to work neither, as none of these functions seems to be called. :-( Any help would be really great :-)

I want to run an update script that will update the table with the FK of the related table only if there is one result (because if there is multiple then we need to decide which one to use, in another method) Here is what I have so far: UPDATE import_hourly_event_reports i SET i.banner_id = b.banner_id FROM banner b JOIN plan p ON b.plan_id = p.id WHERE b.campain_id = i.campaign_id AND b.size_id = i.size_id AND p.site_id = i.site_id HAVING COUNT(b.banner_id) = 1 As you can see, the HAVING clause doesn't quite work as I'd expect it. I only want to update the row in the import table with the id of the banner from the banner table if the count is equal to 1.

On my web site there is a (self-coded) search functionality that searches through the web site's specific contents. However I'd like to display one banner in addition to the site's results, showing ads relevant to the entered search terms. Can I do this e.g. with Google Ads? I want the ads to be based only on the search terms from the user, not the rest of the site's content, so there has to be a possibility to pass these search terms to the ad provider and get a banner based on these search terms.

How to detect if a placement would be empty (Doubleclick for Publishers)?

I want to use DFP for my ads. To display an ad I am calling GA_googleFillSlot(). My understanding of this is, that this function injects the ad code at the position where the JS call is placed. How can I detect if the placement is empty, e.g. no banner code will be injected because there is currently no banner. I need to know because the surrounding html needs to be adapted. Any ideas? Edit: Alternatively, is it possible to alter the injected html elements? DFP injects a div with id="google_ads_div_$PLACEMENT_ID". Is it possible to add a class attribute?

IE9 started a campaign for kill IE6 from the core because they know that IE6 is a big trouble or problem for them for promote 9 version of IE. so they started a campaign for killing IE6. next time they kill IE 7 , 8,9 whenever they found this old version have a big problem for them to promote next version of IE. Why they not make a update system who automatically update the browser and tell user to restart and update goes installed in the user system. well IE9 should learn from all other that they have very well design auto-update system who never give user in trouble that your browser goes old. Chrome and Firefox both update themselves and say user restart to enjoy another good version. in IE6 a big problem is that updates. no one sure that they installed new version of IE6 without any hassles and update goes install without any problem because they really know or care about “you need this to install this and this for this” so they thing “why I update IE whenever I am unsure that my browser goes update and I have no problem again” so they do nothing because their work done with no problem because common person used high profile application who work even in IE6. so they do nothing. IE6 countdown website have designed a banner for warn or force user to upgrade to next version of IE. well there is no good reason for put the banner on website some of reason are:- Windows 7 comes with pre-installed IE8 and Vista comes with upgrade version them IE6 so that is sure that you force a user who have Windows XP [luna] and if they want to upgrade IE then they can get IE8 not version 9 because IE9 is design for Windows 7 or Vista Service pack 2. so What is the use of update when user still have a outdate version too because IE8 is old version and not have any capability of HTML5 so forcing user by using the banner have no sense. I am not know why they all listed on website put the banner on their own website. it’s good that you offer user what they want instead of giving them a outdate version of IE again. My means to give a user list of browser they can try to enhance their browser experience instead of only IE. IE9 build upon WPF and they spent more time on using WPF in IE instead of making user experience browser. many thing is designed wrongly in IE first thing is tabs. the tabs in chrome are bigger and easily to move and same in Firefox even not have smooth tabbing. IE have same tabbing as chrome have but leak a point that it’s too small. if you really want to move then sometime they create a problem that they going elsewhere from the current instance of IE. Chrome have a big buttons, tabs and menu to enhance browser experience and Firefox have a good feature that you can make them bigger or small. you can put the icon for add-ons on the toolbar for easily use but IE have no relation with customization so we never can thinking about that. When chrome provide lot’s of extensions and a webstore for browser application and same feature in Firefox can be seen then there is no plugin in IE. really you can see their IE addons Website where no plugin listed for web development. even in the category or tag. as a response from many blog there is new for developer that new version of IE9 developer tool. well IE9 have three new tabs a blogger tell on their blog. when I trying them I found many thing but I still unable to edit the Css from the HTML tab and no plugin I found I can get to enhance IE9 web development. something more other provide never IE9 give me like personas , customization , browser extension or any other they used to tell a small thing customization . IE9 still have some problem with JavaScript that when I use Firefox and chrome and logout in both then my cookie is deleted but in IE it’s not done. it’s show me that IE9 still have different from other not for good thing even some bad thing too. When I trying to read a article that is written in Hindi using Unicode font I found that they show many thing misspelled. there is three Sha in Hindi but they all goes wrong in IE. the misprint thing is not that the writing for the articles goes wrong. it’s problem or browser to rendering a font. the Firefox and chrome not give me this problem even opera render the font in italic style by decrease the font-size but all those work perfect. in Pwn2Own the apple’s safari and IE9 both are hacked. this is a awesome news for whose who thing that open-source is lose in Security and close-source is highly-secured software. well this is not a good parameter for talking about software. it’s should depend how much application tested and used. because more testing and more use of application make them better. I appreciate IE to making their new version 9 and good luck for them. there is a another matter that I personally found nothing on them.

Multiple Google Analytics code for url under same domain

I have one domain, www.example.com, and www.example.com/sales. the analytic code on both urls are different. so when i login to google account, it will show two separate analytic accounts. on www.example.com/sales, i have a banner linked back to www.example.com. i clicked that banners, and i am sure there are other people have clicked the banner as well. but when i check the analytic of www.example.com, i don't see any thing come from my example.com/sales. I assume analytic on both urls are working, but why it doesn't track the visit from /sales. any idea??

jQuery doesn't work in IE8?

Hi, I am working on a site here: mfm.treethink.net All the jquery works fine in Firefox, Chrome and Safari but on IE8 it gives me errors and the banner at the top doesn't work (which uses the crossSlide jQuery plugin) and as well the image rollovers don't work with the colour change. IE8 is telling me that the errors are on lines 53, 134 and 149 in the source, all of those lines are where the jquery function is declared. $(document).ready(function(){ I am running jquery 1.4. Oddly enough, the other piece of jQuery I have on that page works, the artist browse/select menu on the right. But the banner and image rollovers don't. The second works in IE8 and the first one is the one that doesn't. I noticed the third one, the only one working, is written differently than the first two non-working ones without a function declaration at the top. Could this have anything to do with it?
