Is there any application in linux-land that can encode files into the Creative's own .cmv?
I tried their C.Centrale, but it doesn't seem to work well through Wine.
I need one that will work with Zen MX, which doesn't accept the original xvids / wmvs.
Just got a new Mac Pro at work and as I can't stand the ZX Spectrum-esque 'dead flies' feel of the new Apple keyboards, I brought my trusty IBM SpaceSaver II to the office (with a USB/PS2 adapter)
All seems generally to work ok - even the Trackpoint 'nipple' but periodically the modifier keys, notably the Ctrl and Windows keys seem to go into 'sticky' mode so that typing an 'S' brings up the save dialog, 'O' = open dialog etc. etc.
Its generally fixed by switching windows and then returning back to the offending one, but this is really beginning to cheese me off. Can anyone suggest a fix?
I currently downloaded a bunch of AVI files of a popular show and when to make an DVD with multiple episodes that will play on any standard DVD player.
What is the best free shareware or application to accomplish something like this?
I am using Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium.
Is there any single application that convert all the following video file formats (3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, dv, dvx, flv, gif, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, xvid) to Flv?
I have RAW files output by a program with a specific set of properties (Photoshop RAW, 16 bits, IBM PC byte order, no header, 1 non-interleaved channel, variable sizes like 257X257 or 129X513); does anyone know of a free tool that will allow me to convert to and from this format, and possibly do basic editing (selection, copy/paste, rotation of selection)?
I've tried Picasa, XNView, and Paint Shop Pro 7 and none of them work properly. The closest i get is Paint Shop Pro which will at least make a serviceable attempt to open these files but i can't set all of the proper settings. XNView just might be able to edit it if i can figure out how to change the open settings for a particular raw file. So my questions at current are:
how do i tell XNView to open a raw file a particular way?
Failing that, is there any free tool that can open Photoshop-RAW files with the above settings (that's not photoshop)?
If it helps, i'm trying to import/export/edit hieghtmap data for maps for Supreme Commander.
I have several ClarisWorks documents (*.CWK) that I'd like to import into a more modern format like Microsoft Word or Open Office. It seems Star Office can apparently open cwk files, but the product is discontinued and cannot be downloaded any more. There has been a feature request to add a cwk importer to OpenOffice since 2002, so I doubt that OpenOffice will support cwk files any time soon.
Are there any utilities that can open a cwk file besides ClarisWorks itself?
Is there a device, that works without a driver, you just connect it as usb, and receive any signal sent to it as if it were COM Port wired connection?
For example, such a device that gets data sent to it by Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth and resends it to the USB. Of course it has to be set up once (network name, password etc) and for this purpose you need a driver, but once it is set up, you can use it at any computer without a driver.
I have a Bluetooth USB, but I think it can't work without a driver. By just connecting it to any computer you can't find it in device list on another bluetooth device (as phone, etc).
Hi folks,
I'm wanting to migrate contacts from one CRM to another. The first only exports all the data I need in YAML. The second only imports with CSV.
Is there a converter out there that already exists, or do I need to build one specific to this job?
Thanks!

Hi,
I have a collection of hex strings that represent colours and I am binding a combobox's ItemsSource to that collection.
The combobox items are templated to have a filled rectangle with the relevant colour. I therefore need to use a converter to convert the hex value to a string. Easy enough.
However, Blend is telling me that this syntax is incorrect in my XAML:
Fill="{Binding, Converter={StaticResource StringToBrush}}"
Apparently, I can't use a converter against plain old 'Binding'. Blend says that something like this is syntactically correct:
Fill="{Binding Value, Converter={StaticResource StringToBrush}}"
...However that obviously doesn't work.
I'm not quite au fait with binding syntax yet, so obviously I'm getting it wrong.
Can anyone advise the correct syntax to achieve what I'm trying to do (convert my bound String using the coverter StringToBrush)?
Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for a simple HTML2RTF converter that I can use on my website which is using a *nix like Operating System. I haven't found anything on the internet, and was hoping the SO community would help me.
PS: I don't want to implement this from scratch, and it doesn't really matter what language it's in, as long as I can run it on a *nix like system. If you guys have already some personalized implementation, the language preferred would be PHP.
Hi
I always asked myself if it would be possible to make a Java2C++ Converter.
Maybe a Tool that converts the Java Syntax to the C++ Syntax..
i am aware that the languages differ .. but simple things like loops where the semantic matches 1 on 1 ..
is there such a tool . or is it possible to make one ?
Hello,
Is there any converter to convert a C function into ARM (v6) ASM code or I need to do it manually ?
I am trying to gain the performance of a C function on Iphone.
All,
I have a Dell PE 1950 w/ 2 SATA drives in a software RAID1. OS is CentOS 5.5 (2.6.18.x). Starting this afternoon we received HW errors (something on the bus is bad, E171F) and the machine became unresponsive. We hard booted and it came back up for about 5 hours but then it happened again.
I'm trying to figure out our options. Unfortunately we do not have similar hardware but I have a small desktop that I can use. I was contemplating putting one of the drives into the desktop and then starting it up. My goal was to then P2V it using Vmware converter but apparently the free v5.x doesn't support hot cloning/converting on a RAID volume, only the Enterprise 4.x version of Converter does.
My questions are:
1.) Is putting a single drive out of a RAID1 pair into another piece of HW is safe? Based on my research and understanding it appears to be but would like confirmation.
2.) Is there any work around to the Vmware Converter not supporting RAID volumes during a hot clone/convert session?
3.) Are there other options I'm overlooking?
Thanks in advance for reading and responding.

I just got a new computer. My old computer had a Boot Camp installation of Windows 7, with VMWare running the Boot Camp installation in a virtual machine. On my new computer, I want Windows to strictly be a VM, so I downloaded the VMWare Converter software to create a virtual machine out of the Boot Camp partition.
After finishing 95% of the converting process, I get a few messages
Warning: Failed while updating boot.ini on the target machine's system volume.
Warning: Failed while updating drive letters for the target volume layout.
Error: Reconfiguration failed.
And then it fails with
FAILED: Unable to find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible.
I'm not sure what the problem is or how to fix it...I don't know much about virtualization or dual booting other than the simple instructions on how to set it up the first time.
Here is my custom Type Converter.
public class StringListTypeConverter : TypeConverter<String, IEnumerable<String>>
{
protected override IEnumerable<string> ConvertCore(String source)
{
if (source == null)
yield break;
foreach (var item in source.Split(','))
yield return item.Trim();
}
}
public class Source
{
public String Some {get;set;}
}
public class Dest
{
public IEnumerable<String> Some {get;set;}
}
// ... configuration
Mapper.CreateMap<String, IEnumerable<String>>().ConvertUsing<StringListTypeConverter>();
Mapper.CreateMap<Source, Dest>();
The problem: StringListTypeConverter is not being called at all. Dest.Some == null.
I'm writing GWT application where I need to upload video file and encode that video into different video formats. I've decided to use Panda Video Converter. I was able to run panda on my EC2 instance (using their image) and I can upload video from Panda's test pages but now I'm trying to make same thing with my own application in GWT.
The question that I have is: How do I get Video id and how do I post my video to the server. What URL do I need to use for that? I tried to read their documentation but have no clue where to start. This is my fist time working with webservices and url, probably that's why I don't how it works.

is it possible to use bindings that use either the dataContext or the TemplatedParent
