• importing a mysqldump file does not import triggers due to some permission problems

  Hello, Whenever I try to import a mysqldump export on another server, the triggers are never created, and if I remember correctly, I get an error messages that super user permission is required. IF I remove the definer it usually works but if there is a way I would prefer not having to edit the sql file. When I just simply copy over the mdi, mdy and frm files everything works perfectly. How could I import a mysqldump file so that triggers are created as well?

• 2 Google Tag Manager containers = double triggers?

  I have a Joomla website with existing analytics done by a GTM tag and I need to add another image tag (1x1 pixel) from a separate GTM container. I set the event name for the additional GTM container to a different name from from the existing GTM container (default 'gtm.js') so that the new tag only fires under the specified event. The new container tested out fine in a blank HTML page, but when it is put in the website, it ends up firing twice. I know that because Firebug showed 2 1x1 pixels being loaded and I mark each request with a randomly-generated UID to distinguish them on the server side. I suspect this being caused by having multiple GTM container tags but want to check whether anyone has run into this problem before? As of now, I could not verify nor fix the double counting problem.

  I sometimes want to perform auditing or other actions in a trigger based on some criteria. More specifically, there are a few cases that may warrant an e-mail; for example, if a web sale takes place that requires custom or overnight shipping and handling. It is tempting to just add code to the trigger that sends an e-mail when these criteria are met. But this can be problematic for two reasons: (1) your users are waiting for that processing to occur, and (2) if you can't send the e-mail, how do you decide whether or not to roll back the transaction, and how do you bring the problem to the attention of the administrator?

  Hi, I'm looking to create an audit trail for my PHP web app's database (eg. capture inserts, updates, deletes). MySQL triggers seem to be just the thing -- but how do I capture the IP address and the web username (as opposed to the mysql username, localhost) of the user who invoked the trigger?   Hello, we have application where database contains large parts of business logic in triggers, with a update subsequently firing triggers on several other tables. I want to refactor the mess and wanted to start by extracting procedures from triggers, but can't find any reliable tool to do this. Using "Extract procedure" in both SQL Developer and Toad failed to properly handle :new and :old trigger variables. If you had similar problem with triggers, did you find a way around it? EDIT: Ideally, only columns that are referenced by extracted code would be sent as in/out parameters, like: Example of original code to be extracted from trigger: ..... if :new.col1 = some_var then :new.col1 := :old.col1 end if ..... would become : procedure proc(in old_col1 varchar2, in out new_col1 varchar2, some_var varchar2) is begin if new_col1 = some_var then new_col1 := old_col1 end if; end; ...... proc(:old.col1,:new.col1, some_var);

  I will be more clear. What I want to realize is the following: In a JSP x I have a 3 dropdownlists and a button called edit when user click this button a table dynamically should be displayed. Now this table is modified correponding the values in those 3 ddl. So it can be 3 cols or 4 cols or even 6 cols it depends on the selected values. So what I tried is to use the servlet to getParameter doing the if clause construct the html and then forward the response.Have you any the suggestion of the structure that I can use. Think you.

  I have zabbix set with an item to monitor a log file on a zabbix client: log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100] And a trigger to determine when that log file get's more ERRORs: {Template_Linux:log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100].change(0)}#0 This trigger gets tripped when the log file gets ERRORs the first time, but then that first trigger just sits around for ever in Monitoring-Triggers. My understanding is that the next time the server checks the value of log["/var/log/program_name/client.log","ERROR:","UTF-8",100] and sees that it hasn't changed that the trigger would go away. Obviously this isn't the case. Could someone explain why this first trigger isn't going away? Ultimately my goal is to receive an email whenever ERRORs are added to that log file, but I would like to understand how triggers are working first.

  Hi My jQuery code hides a ddl under certain circumstances. When this is the case, after submitting the form, using the UpdateModel doesn't seem to work consistently. Debugging seems to reveal that the correct value is passed in to the action method: public ActionResult Edit(IllnessDetail ill) And the correct value is put into sick in the following line: IllnessDetailFormViewModel mfv = new IllnessDetailFormViewModel(ill); However, when all is said, done and returned to the client, what displays is the value of: sick.IdInfectiousAgent instead of the value of: ill.IdInfectiousAgent The only reason I can think of is that the ddlInfectiousAgent has been hidden by jQuery. Or am I barking up the wrong lamp post? Andrew

• Are there clean ways to do these Quartz Triggers?

  I'm using Quartz to schedule some jobs but I have a few scenarios that I'm not sure how to resolve. 1) Lets say I have a job that is scheduled to run every 5 minutes. Generally that works well but periodically the job takes more than 5 minutes and I don't really want multiple instances of the job running simultaneously. 2) I have a job that can take between 1 and 60 minutes to complete. I want it to run continuously but pause for 10 minutes between runs, regardless of how long it took previously. I like using Quartz for this rather than some sort of loop because if a job crashes Quartz will still spin up a new one based on the schedule. I am using Quartz in Java right now.

• MySQL triggers cannot update rows in same table the trigger is assigned to. Suggested workaround?

  MySQL doesn't currently support updating rows in the same table the trigger is assigned to since the call could become recursive. Does anyone have suggestions on a good workaround/alternative? Right now my plan is to call a stored procedure that performs the logic I really wanted in a trigger, but I'd love to hear how others have gotten around this limitation. Edit: A little more background as requested. I have a table that stores product attribute assignments. When a new parent product record is inserted, I'd like the trigger to perform a corresponding insert in the same table for each child record. This denormalization is necessary for performance. MySQL doesn't support this and throws: Can't update table 'mytable' in stored function/trigger because it is already used by statement which invoked this stored function/trigger. A long discussion on the issue on the MySQL forums basically lead to: Use a stored proc, which is what I went with for now. Thanks in advance!

  I am attempting to create tables for a MySQL database, but I am having some syntactical issues. It would seem that syntax checking is behaving differently between tables for some reason. While I've gotten all the other tables to go through, the table, 'stock' doesn't seem to be working, despite seeming to use the same syntax patterns. • What is a good Visio Enterprise Architect replacement?

  I've been using Visio 2002/2003 Enterprise Architect to do my database schema design visually and then forward-generate the DDL to create the database. I wanted to switch to Visio 2007, but while it does have database diagramming support, it doesn't have the ability to generate DDL. Bummer. I am really disappointed because it seems like Microsoft has completely abandoned this feature. You can't do it in Visual Studio (that I've found). You can sorta do it with SQL Server Management Studio if you insert database diagrams into your database, but any edits to the schema immediately take effect. Has anyone found a good program to do this? I'm hoping to find one that is free and can generate DDL/SQL for SQL Server.

  Hi, i am driving since some years a sql-server2000 merge-replication over three locations. Triggers do a lot of work in this database. i got no troubles. Now migrating these database to a brand new sql2008, i got some issues about the triggers. They are firing even if the merge-agent does his work.
