    I went to the apple store today to discuss a problem with my iPhone battery, and they plugged it into one of their macs and used an application that interpreted the logs stored on my phone. So, my question is, does anybody know the name of the application that reads the logs, and if so, where it is available? Since it is a diagnostic tool, I'm guessing it won't be openly available, but I thought i would ask anyway.

  • alternatives to accessing google reader with oauth?

    I'm really new to this oauth stuff. I want to access a user's google reader liked items feed. This blog says that oauth doesn't work (yet) with google reader. The working way seems to be to get the user's google credentials (email, password) directly, and login directly to google. This also gives me access to the rest of their services. Is there a better way, or must the user trust me with their google credentials?

  • Adobe Reader unable to open downloaded file in IE6

    I'm working on a web app that allows users to downloaded dynamically generated PDF files. This works fine in IE8 and Firefox but fails in IE6 with Adobe Reader giving the message "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" If I save the file to disk first then it opens fine in Reader. I've given the file a simple short filename, without spaces so not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are very welcome.

    I am able to successfully get the SID (SessionID) for my Google Reader account. In order to obtain the feed and do other operations inside Google Reader, you have to obtain an authorization token. I'm having trouble doing this.   • How to refresh Google Reader cache for a specific domain

    Brief history domain.com was associated with a blogspot. domain.com changed to an institutional site and features a small code instructing which file should be retrieved by RSS readers. <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://domain.tumblr.com/rss" /> Google Reader didn't update the RSS to the new blog. domain.com/blog retrieves the posts correctly because it was never used for that purpose in the older blog. How is it possible to force Google Reader to update the cached information? I tried using another RSS reader and it worked perfectly with the new domain. However, when I tried to follow domain.com in another Google Reader account, it still showed the posts from the older blog. It's been almost a month that the aforementioned changes were made.

  • Looking for Google Reader javscript commands for controlling events

    I've played in the /reader/ui/ code for a few hours now, and couldn't figure this out. Also, I didn't see any exact help when searching StackOverflow. This is really a JavaScript un-obfuscator question. I'm looking for a way to call the obfuscated Google Reader javascript commands... and am having trouble determining what actual function is called when the "Next Items" button is pressed or the spacebar is hit. I've tried using Firebug as well as FireEvents to track it down, but it's just too well hidden. Any ideas? Something that I could type into the URL bar and make it run, something like 'javascript:SH("entries-down", "click");void(0);' Thanks in advance! And, please let me know if it's against Google's terms of service to de-obfuscate their code to view these JavaScript commands.

    I am using the SIMPLE RSS reading example found at http://theappleblog.com/2008/08/04/tutorial-build-a-simple-rss-reader-for-iphone/ It uses parseXML to load the RSS feeds. Here is the problem I am having. For the following RSS feed example, I am having trouble getting it to load the feed. Comes up with an error that it cannot connect. However on my Mac RSS Reader it works fine, so I know the link is good.   • Missing something with Reader monad - passing the damn thing around everywhere

    Learning Haskell, managing syntax, have a rough grasp of what monads etc are about but I'm clearly missing something. In main I can read my config file, and supply it as runReader (somefunc) myEnv just fine. But somefunc doesn't need access to the myEnv the reader supplies, nor do the next couple in the chain. The function that needs something from myEnv is a tiny leaf function. So - how do I get access to the environment in a function without tagging all the intervening functions as (Reader Env)? That can't be right because otherwise you'd just pass myEnv around in the first place. And passing unused parameters through multiple levels of functions is just ugly (isn't it?). There are plenty of examples I can find on the net but they all seem to have only one level between runReader and accessing the environment.

    How do I EFI boot Zenbook Prime UX31A from built-in card reader? Ubuntu 12.10 64bit has been copied onto an a SD card which I'm trying to boot from. When I power on my Zenbook and press ESC, the SD card isn't an option. There is an "Add boot option" in the BIOS but it requires a few a things that I'm not quite sure of. Add boot option - I guess any identifier works here. I've been entering ubuntu. Select Filesystem - The only option available is PCI(1F|2)\DevicePath(Type 3, SubType 12)HD(Part1,Sig787e6287-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx) Path for boot option - I've been entering ubuntu:\EFI\BOOT\BOOTx64.EFI Then I select Create and the new boot option appears in the boot menu but it doesn't work.

  • Reloading embed PDF in a DIV (empty Accrobat Reader error popup)

    Hello, I have a web application coded in C#/ASP.NET. The application basically exports a PDF file when the user click on Save. It then reloads a DIV, putting the EMBED (with the src pointing to the newly generated pdf file) in it. Sometimes the embed area just gets black and I get this window from Acrobat Reader: http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/3359/acreader.jpg. What does it mean? Has anyone ever see this?

  • Why is my hg workbench & Adobe Reader toolbar icon a blank white page?

    On my work's PC (windows 7 32bit) all Adobe Reader and hg Workbench icons on the toolbar (and general shortcuts for hg workbench) are just white pages (with the top left corner folded over). If you right click on the toolbar icon then right click on "TortoiseHg Workbench"(for hg workbench) then "Properties" then the "Change Icon..." button is greyed out (same for "Adobe Reader X"). Also the "Target:" is "TortoiseHg 2.4.0 (x86)" and is greyed out also the "Open File Location" is greyed out. This is the same for both Hg Workbench and Adobe Reader and seems to be the only thing that connects them. I have tried reinstalling to no avail. I also have local admin rights on the PC. I finally I have tried the following following questions without any luck (they aren't quite relevant to my issue but close): Adobe Reader program icon and pdf icons don't appear in Windows 7 Adobe PDF icon disappeared? Encase my description isn't enough to understand the issue here is a screenshot. As you can see the Hg Workbench icon (far left) and a pdf open in Adobe Reader X (second icon to from the left) are both blank and the shortcut is mainly greyed out.

Note: obviously if you need to access more advanced PDF features, you’ll still need the Adobe plugin. For most of us, however, the built-in viewer is fine, or you could download PDF files and read them in the offline Adobe Reader. Enabling Firefox’s Built-in PDF Reader Open Firefox and navigate to about:config. This will bring up a sarcastic warning telling you that you might void your warranty, just click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button to move on. Now you will need to search for: browser.preferences.inContent When you find it, right click on it and select Toggle from the context menu. Next you will need enable the actual PDF Reader feature, you can do this by searching for: pdfjs.disabled That’s all there is to it, you can even drag PDF files on your local machine on t0 the Firefox windows to view them!     Using the API, trying to get items in a specific feed returns this: {“direction”:”ltr”,”id”:”feed/http://arstechnica.com/index.rssx”,”title”:”Ars Technica”,”description”:”The Art of Technology”,”self”:[{"href":"http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/stream/contents/feed/http://arstechnica.com/index.rssx?ot\u003d1273193172856169\u0026r\u003dn\u0026xt\u003duser/-/state/com.google/read\u0026n\u003d4\u0026ck\u003d1273193873\u0026client\u003diPadReader"}],”alternate”:[{"href":"http://arstechnica.com/index.php","type":"text/html"}],”updated”:1273193873,”items”:[]} They look like key/value pairs but it’s plain text with UTF8 String encoding and won’t encode into a dictionary. I’m using Objective-C and I’m not sure where to go from here. So far I’ve been able to parse the XML response for unread items, but parsing the plain-text doesn’t look feasible. What is your practice?
