  • How To - Securing a JAX-WS with OWSM Message Protection Policy in JDeveloper - 11g

    - by Prakash Yamuna
As promised in this post, here is a How-To that describes how to secure a simple HelloWorld JAX-WS with OWSM message protection policy and test it with SOAP UI. The How-To reuses the picture I posted earlier about the relationship and interplay b/w Keystore, Credential store, jps-config.xml ,etc. One of the other more frequent requests I hear from folks within Oracle and customers is how to test OWSM with SOAP UI. SOAP UI in general works very well as testing tool for web services secure with wss10 policies.

  • Getting NoClassdef on HMAC_SHA1 in Webpshere

    - by defjab
We have WAS 6.0 (I know) .2.43 ND running in multiple regions. Our Dev-B region runs fine, but Dev-C throws a java exception when we make web-calls (at least this is what the developer tells me)...Same code in both regions and I checked the obvious suspects (Global security, SSL ciphers etc) and they all seem to match. • Windows Phone 7 and WS-Trust

    - by Your DisplayName here!
A question that I often hear these days is: “Can I connect a Windows Phone 7 device to my existing enterprise services?”. Well – since most of my services are typically issued token based, this requires support for WS-Trust and WS-Security on the client. Let’s see what’s necessary to write a WP7 client for this scenario. First I converted the Silverlight library that comes with the Identity Training Kit to WP7. Some things are not supported in WP7 WCF (like message inspectors and some client runtime hooks) – but besides that this was a simple copy+paste job. Very nice! Next I used the WSTrustClient to request tokens from my STS: private WSTrustClient GetWSTrustClient() {     var client = new WSTrustClient(         new WSTrustBindingUsernameMixed(),         new EndpointAddress("https://identity.thinktecture.com/…/issue.svc/mixed/username"),         new UsernameCredentials(_txtUserName.Text, _txtPassword.Password));     return client; } private void _btnLogin_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) {     _client = GetWSTrustClient();       var rst = new RequestSecurityToken(WSTrust13Constants.KeyTypes.Bearer)     {         AppliesTo = new EndpointAddress("https://identity.thinktecture.com/rp/")     };       _client.IssueCompleted += client_IssueCompleted;     _client.IssueAsync(rst); } I then used the returned RSTR to talk to the WCF service. Due to a bug in the combination of the Silverlight library and the WP7 runtime – symmetric key tokens seem to have issues currently. Bearer tokens work fine. So I created the following binding for the WCF endpoint specifically for WP7. <customBinding>   <binding name="mixedNoSessionBearerBinary">     <security authenticationMode="IssuedTokenOverTransport"               messageSecurityVersion="WSSecurity11 WSTrust13 WSSecureConversation13 WSSecurityPolicy12 BasicSecurityProfile10">       <issuedTokenParameters keyType="BearerKey" />     </security>     <binaryMessageEncoding />     <httpsTransport/>   </binding> </customBinding> The binary encoding is not necessary, but will speed things up a little for mobile devices. I then call the service with the following code: private void _btnCallService_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) {     var binding = new CustomBinding(         new BinaryMessageEncodingBindingElement(),         new HttpsTransportBindingElement());       _proxy = new StarterServiceContractClient(         binding,         new EndpointAddress("…"));     using (var scope = new OperationContextScope(_proxy.InnerChannel))     {         OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(new IssuedTokenHeader(Globals.RSTR));         _proxy.GetClaimsAsync();     } } works. download

  • EclipseLink Moxy Provider for JAX-RS and JAX-WS

    - by arungupta
EclipseLink MOXy is a JAXB provider bundled in GlassFish 3.1.2. In addition to JAXB RI, it provides XPath Based Mapping, better support for JPA entities, native JSON binding and many other features. Learn more about MOXy and JAXB examples on their wiki. Blaise blogged about how MOXy can be leveraged to create a JAX-WS service. You just need to provide data-binding attribute in sun-jaxws.xml and then all the XPath-based mapping can be specified on JAXB beans. MOXy can also be used as JAX-RS JSON provider on server-side and client-side. How are you using MOXy in your applications ?

  • How do I set the timeout for a JAX-WS webservice client?

    - by ninesided
I've used JAXWS-RI 2.1 to create an interface for my web service, based on a WSDL. I can interact with the web service no problems, but haven't been able to specify a timeout for sending requests to the web service. If for some reason it does not respond the client just seems to spin it's wheels forever. Hunting around has revealed that I should probably be trying to do something like this: ((BindingProvider)myInterface).getRequestContext().put("com.sun.xml.ws.request.timeout", 10000); ((BindingProvider)myInterface).getRequestContext().put("com.sun.xml.ws.connect.timeout", 10000); I also discovered that, depending on which version of JAXWS-RI you have, you may need to set these properties instead: ((BindingProvider)myInterface).getRequestContext().put("com.sun.xml.internal.ws.request.timeout", 10000); ((BindingProvider)myInterface).getRequestContext().put("com.sun.xml.internal.ws.connect.timeout", 10000); The problem I have is that, regardless of which of the above is correct, I don't know where I can do this. All I've got is a Service subclass that implements the auto-generated interface to the webservice and at the point that this is getting instanciated, if the WSDL is non-responsive then it's already too late to set the properties: MyWebServiceSoap soap; MyWebService service = new MyWebService("http://www.google.com"); soap = service.getMyWebServiceSoap(); soap.sendRequestToMyWebService(); Can anyone point me in the right direction?!

  • How do I fix my "Stream closed" error in spring-ws?

    - by mcherm
I have working code using the spring-ws library to respond to soap requests. I moved this code to a different project (I'm merging projects) and now it is failing. I would like to figure out the reason for the failure. The symptom I get is this: when the HTTP request arrives, spring begins handling the call. Then I get the following exception: org.springframework.ws.soap.saaj.SaajSoapEnvelopeException: Could not access envelope: java.io.IOException: Stream closed; nested exception is javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.io.IOException: Stream closed at org.springframework.ws.soap.saaj.SaajSoapMessage.getEnvelope(SaajSoapMessage.java:109) <<more lines that don't matter>> Caused by: java.io.IOException: Stream closed at java.io.PushbackInputStream.ensureOpen(PushbackInputStream.java:57) at java.io.PushbackInputStream.read(PushbackInputStream.java:116) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLEntityManager$RewindableInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLEntityManager.setupCurrentEntity(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLVersionDetector.determineDocVersion(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XMLParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserImpl$JAXPSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserImpl.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContext.parse(DeserializationContext.java:227) at org.apache.axis.SOAPPart.getAsSOAPEnvelope(SOAPPart.java:696) ... 30 more Examining it in a debugger, it appears that spring successfully handles HTTP headers, but then when it begins to process the contents of the SOAP message itself, it chokes when reading the very first character of the body. Some googling for the error message suggests that the problem is that a PushbackInputStream which is apparently used for reading from the socket is read twice or perhaps has close() called and then is read afterward. It is happening inside of spring-ws, not my code, and since it worked fine before I moved the code to a new project it must have something to do with versions of spring, or something it uses like axis or xerces. But I can't find any differences in versions of these! Has anyone encountered this error before? Or do you have any suggestions of approaches I could take in troubleshooting this?

  • JAX-WS client with AXIS server; namespace problem?

    - by Jarno
I'm having a problem related to JAX-WS and AXIS. JAX-WS (2.1.7) as a client, Axis (1.4.x) as server. Everything works OK, but the response can't be read to Java. Response: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <soapenv:Body> <ns1:myserviceResponse soapenv:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:ns1="http://my/service"> <ns1:myserviceReturn xsi:type="xsd:string">responsestring</ns1:myserviceReturn> </ns1:myserviceResponse> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> The problem is that if "ns1:"-namespace declaration is removed from myserviceReturn, JAX-WS is able to return else than null. Does anyone have a clue how to force JAX-WS to ignore namespaces, how to modify SOAP response manually to exclude "ns1", or other ideas for this kind of problem? Any help is appreciated!!!

  • Why is win32com so much slower than xlrd?

    - by Josh
I have the same code, written using win32com and xlrd. xlrd preforms the algorithm in less than a second, while win32com takes minutes. Here is the win32com: def makeDict(ws): """makes dict with key as header name, value as tuple of column begin and column end (inclusive)""" wsHeaders = {} # key is header name, value is column begin and end inclusive for cnum in xrange(9, find_last_col(ws)): if ws.Cells(7, cnum).Value: wsHeaders[str(ws.Cells(7, cnum).Value)] = (cnum, find_last_col(ws)) for cend in xrange(cnum + 1, find_last_col(ws)): #finds end column if ws.Cells(7, cend).Value: wsHeaders[str(ws.Cells(7, cnum).Value)] = (cnum, cend - 1) break return wsHeaders And the xlrd def makeDict(ws): """makes dict with key as header name, value as tuple of column begin and column end (inclusive)""" wsHeaders = {} # key is header name, value is column begin and end inclusive for cnum in xrange(8, ws.ncols): if ws.cell_value(6, cnum): wsHeaders[str(ws.cell_value(6, cnum))] = (cnum, ws.ncols) for cend in xrange(cnum + 1, ws.ncols):#finds end column if ws.cell_value(6, cend): wsHeaders[str(ws.cell_value(6, cnum))] = (cnum, cend - 1) break return wsHeaders

  • Howto: Configure Spring-WS to publish WSDL files with a '?WSDL' style URL?

    - by Darren
I am trying to configure web service proxying using Mule ESB. I am attempting to do this using Mule's WSProxyService, but after stepping through the corresponding code (with the debugger), it is clear that this class replaces endpoint addresses. The problem is Spring-WS WSDL addresses are of the style http://xxxx/xxxx.wsdl, but WSProxyService expects http://xxxx/xxxx?wsdl or http://xxxx/xxxx&wsdl. It replaces the remote endpoint addresses with the local WSDL address; it cuts the remote WSDL address at the question mark i.e. '?WSDL' is intended to be chopped off, so to create the search term. But because of Spring-WS, this does not work. To break it down: WSProxyService ends up trying to use http://xxxx/xxxx.wsdl to replace http://xxxx/xxxx with http://yyyy/yyyy which fails... leading to actual web service call going direct and not through the proxy. Has anyone ever noticed/solved this problem?? Cheers, Darren

  • How to get application context path in spring-ws?

    - by Dhaliwal
I am using Spring-WS to create a webservice. In my project, I have created a Helper class to reads sample response and request xml file which are located in my /src/main/resource folder. When I am unit-testing my webservice application 'locally', I use the System.getProperty("user.dir") to get the application context folder. The following is a method that I created in the Helper class to help me retrieve the file that I am interested in my resource folder. public static File getFileFromResources(String filename) { System.out.println("Getting file from resource folder"); File request = null; String curDir = System.getProperty("user.dir"); String contextpath = "C:\\src\\main\\resources\\"; request = new File(curDir + contextpath + filename); return request; } However, after 'publishing' the compiled WAR file to the ../webapps folder to the Apache Tomcat directory, I realise that System.getProperty("user.dir") no longer returns my application context path. Instead, it is returning the Apache Tomcat root directory as shown C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\src\main\resources\SampleClientFile I cant seem to find any information about getting the root folder of my webservice. I have seen examples on Spring web application where I can retrieve the context path by using the following : request.getSession().getServletContext().getContextPath() But in this case, I am using a Spring web application where there is a servlet context in the request. But the Spring-WS, my entry point is an endpoint. How can I get the context path of my webservice application. I am expecting a context path of something like C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\clientWebService\WEB-INF\classes Could someone suggest a way to achieve this?

  • Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7.5+ and websphere runtime will not pick up jars from projects

    - by Berlin Brown
With RAD Version: 7.5.3, Java 1.5. I have a couple of different projects. I needed to break out the java code and turn the *.class files into a jar. So basically, same *.class files I just removed the code and then jarred the class files into a jar. I broke the classes into a jar and then included the jar in the project. And I also did an order/export on the jar so that other projects can see the jar. At this point, ideally my project should not have changed because I am using class files in a jar instead of the java code. When I visit my web application in websphere, I get class not found errors on the classes that are now in the jar. Project Structure: A. Project earApp -- will need the webapp B. Project webapp -- will need the project (no jar files or *.java files are found in this project) C. Project javasrc -- the java source and the NEW JAR file are found here. I don't think websphere is acknowledging the jar. Is it possible in jax-ws to have a webmethod that creates a new object (of a service class) and returns a reference to it to the client caller (for the client, it's a remote reference) so that the client and this new service object maintain a session? (Therefore each client is served by a different instance). Schematically: client server o:Session -------- -------- ---------- s = server.access() ------------------> o = new Session() return o <--- o.doSomething() ----------------------------------------------> make it <--- o.doMore() --------------------------------------------------> make it <---

When executing the generated client I am receiving the following error: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: javax.xml.bind.MarshalException - with linked exception: [com.sun.istack.SAXException2: unable to marshal type "java.lang.String" as an element because it is missing an @XmlRootElement annotation] This started occurring when I used an external custom binding file to map needlessly complex types to java.lang.string. Here is an excerpt from my binding file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <bindings xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jaxb" version="2.0" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:xjc="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jaxb/xjc"> <bindings schemaLocation="http://localhost:7777/GESOR/services/RegistryUpdatePort?wsdl#types?schema1" node="/xs:schema"> <bindings node="//xs:element[@name='StwrdCompany']//xs:complexType//xs:sequence//xs:element[@name='company_name']"> <property> <baseType name="java.lang.String" /> </property> </bindings> <bindings node="//xs:element[@name='StwrdCompany']//xs:complexType//xs:sequence//xs:element[@name='address1']"> <property> <baseType name="java.lang.String" /> </property> </bindings> <bindings node="//xs:element[@name='StwrdCompany']//xs:complexType//xs:sequence//xs:element[@name='address2']"> <property> <baseType name="java.lang.String" /> </property> </bindings> ...more fields </bindings> </bindings> When executing wsimport against the provided WSDL, StwrdCompany is generated with the following variables declared: @XmlRootElement(name = "StwrdCompany") public class StwrdCompany { @XmlElementRef(name = "company_name", type = JAXBElement.class) protected String companyName; @XmlElementRef(name = "address1", type = JAXBElement.class) protected String address1; @XmlElementRef(name = "address2", type = JAXBElement.class) ... more fields ... getters/setters @XmlAccessorType(XmlAccessType.FIELD) @XmlType(name = "", propOrder = { "value" }) public static class CompanyName { @XmlValue protected String value; @XmlAttribute protected Boolean updateToNULL; /** * Gets the value of the value property. * * @return * possible object is * {@link String } * */ public String getValue() { return value; } /** * Sets the value of the value property. * * @param value * allowed object is * {@link String } * */ public void setValue(String value) { this.value = value; } /** * Gets the value of the updateToNULL property. * * @return * possible object is * {@link Boolean } * */ public boolean isUpdateToNULL() { if (updateToNULL == null) { return false; } else { return updateToNULL; } } /** * Sets the value of the updateToNULL property. * * @param value * allowed object is * {@link Boolean } * */ public void setUpdateToNULL(Boolean value) { this.updateToNULL = value; } ... more inner classes } } Finally, here is the associated snippet from the WSDL that seems to be causing such grief. <xs:element name="StwrdCompany"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0" name="company_name" nillable="true"> <xs:complexType> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute default="false" name="updateToNULL" type="xs:boolean"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0" name="address1" nillable="true"> <xs:complexType> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute default="false" name="updateToNULL" type="xs:boolean"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> ... more fields in the same format <xs:element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0" name="p_source_timestamp" nillable="false" type="xs:string"/> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="company_xid" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> The reason for the custom binding is so I can map user input from a pojo into the StwrdCompany object more easily, whether it be direct instantiation or through the use of Dozer for bean mapping. I was unable to successfully map between the objects without the custom binding. Finally, one other thing I tried was setting a globalBinding definition: <globalBindings generateValueClass="false"></globalBindings> This caused the server to through an argument mismatch exception since the Soap Message was using xs:string xml types instead of passing the defined complex types, so I abandoned that idea. Any insight into what is causing the MarshalException or how to go about solving the issue of calling the webservice and mapping these objects more easily, is greatly appreciated. I've been searching for days and I sadly think I am stumped.

  • JAX-WS modifying handler chain programmatically? PortInfo?

    - by wuntee
I have a JAX-WS client that needs to have a modified handler-chain. I am currently doing it by binding this XML when generated the WSDL stubs: <jaxws:bindings xmlns:jaxws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jaxws"> <jws:handler-chains xmlns:jws="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"> <jws:handler-chain> <jws:handler> <jws:handler-name>ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-name> <jws:handler-class>blah.ServiceRequestServiceClientHandler</jws:handler-class> </jws:handler> </jws:handler-chain> </jws:handler-chains> </jaxws:bindings> I was looking that the ServiceRequestService_Service object, and it seems like this could be done programmatically (easier in my opinion - less configuration files). new ServiceRequestService_Service().getHandlerResolver().getHandlerChain(PORTINFO).add(HANDLER); But, I do not know what the PortInfo object is, or how to obtain it in relation to the specific service. Has anyone done this?

  • How to set WS-SecurityPolicy in an inbound CXF service in Mule?

    - by Brakara
    When configuring the service for handling UsernameToken and signatures, it's setup like this: <service name="serviceName"> <inbound> <cxf:inbound-endpoint address="someUrl" protocolConnector="httpsConnector" > <cxf:inInterceptors> <spring:bean class="org.apache.cxf.binding.soap.saaj.SAAJInInterceptor" /> <spring:bean class="org.apache.cxf.ws.security.wss4j.WSS4JInInterceptor"> <spring:constructor-arg> <spring:map> <spring:entry key="action" value="UsernameToken Timestamp Signature" /> <spring:entry key="passwordCallbackRef" value-ref="serverCallback" /> <spring:entry key="signaturePropFile" value="wssecurity.properties" /> </spring:map> </spring:constructor-arg> </spring:bean> </cxf:inInterceptors> </cxf:inbound-endpoint> </inbound> </service> But how is it possible to create a policy of what algorithms that are allowed, and what parts of the message that should be signed?
