  • WCF Caching Solution - Need Advice

    The company I work for is looking to implement a caching solution. We have several WCF Web Services hosted and we need to cache certain values that can be persisted and fetched regardless of a client's session to a service. I am looking at the following technologies: Caching Application Block 4.1 WCF TCP Service using HttpRuntime Caching Memcached Win32 and Client Microsoft AppFabric Caching Beta 2 Our test server is a Windows Server 2003 with IIS6, but our production server is Windows Server 2008, so any of the above options would work (except for AppFabric Caching on our test server). Does anyone have any experience with any of these? This caching solution will not be used to store a lot of data, but it will need to be fetched from frequently and fast. Thanks in advance.

    I need an algorithm written in any language to find an image inside of an image, including at different scales. Does anyone know a starting point to solving a problem like this? For example: I have an image of 800x600 and in that image is a yellow ball measuring 180 pixels in circumference. I need to be able to find this image with a search pattern of a yellow ball having a circumference of 15 pixels. Thanks

  • Inline image and caption in article - conform caption's width to image's width

    Here's my code: <div class="image"> <img src="image.jpg" alt="Image description" /> <p class="caption">This is the image caption</p> </div> Here's my CSS: .image { position: relative; float: right; margin: 8px 0 10px 10px; } .caption { font-weight: bold; color: #444666; } As is above, the caption will conform to the width of div.image. My problem is often the img varies in size, from 100px width to 250px width. I'd like to make the caption width conform to the corresponding width of the image, no matter the size. While I'd love for this to be more semantic as well, I'm not sure how easy it would be to switch p.caption with img. Of course, I'd prefer that method but am taking this a step at a time. Is there some jquery code that I can use to detect the width of the image and add that width as an inline style to the caption tag? Is there a better way to do this? I'm open to suggestions.

    Hi I have image upload form, user attaches aimage file, and selects image size to resize the uploaded image file(200kb, 500kb, 1mb, 5mb, Original). Then my script needs to resize image file size based on user's optional size, but im not sure how to implement this feature, For example, user uploads image with one 1mb size, and if user selects 200KB to resize, then my script should save it with 200kb size. Are there any applications that will have cartoon classification capabilities?   • Flex TileList control, image loading issue

    I have a flex 3 TileList in wich a load several image (employee's headshot pictures). The image I'm loading in the TileList are stored in a DataBase (I use the ByteArray class and a Base 64 encoding to store the images in the DB). When I load the images in the TileList from the DB, there is no problem they are displayed correctly, but when I scroll down in the TileList and scroll up again, the position of the images is changing, so for example the image in first position can be now in the 3rd and so on ....     I'm loading an image in an iframe and then (once the iframe is loaded) loading the image on the page. But most browsers seem to be loading the image twice. Why isn't the img tag being loading from the cache?   • Multiple ToggleButton image with different highlight image in WPF

    I am very new to WPF and needed some pointers as to why this is not working correctly. I am trying to make a maximize button that will change to a restore button when clicked. I thought a toggle button with 2 different styles that would be changed in the code behind could work. I am first trying to get the maximize button working and have ran into a problem. I get the error 'System.Windows.Controls.Image' is not a valid value for the 'System.Windows.Controls.Image.Source' property on a Setter. in my xaml. Now,there are some images in my file system,and I save its absolute path in the db.     First i have a getProfileImage.aspx which accepts a CusID and TN as query strings and display n image. So getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=10&TN=Y will show the image fine in the browser :) But... Now i am presented with a Form View and i want to bind the src of the image to get the image from the getProfileImage.aspx page... The following code works fine :) 10 is the customer ID and the image is working fine... <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Height="151px" ImageUrl='~/getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=10&TN=N' /> But now i want to Bind the CusID value... <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Height="151px" ImageUrl='~/getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=<%# Bind("CusID") %>&TN=N' /> This simply does not work :( The getProfileImage.aspx is called with CusID=<%... where the way i see it the <%# Bind("CusID") % is not parsed by ASP which would have returned 10... <%# Bind("CusID") %> The above tag alone will work... but inserting it to the middle of the tag seems to break it... I know this can be done using artificial neural networks. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Mhh, kinda hard to explain with my poor english ;) So, lets say I have an image, doesnt matter what kind of (gif, jpg, png) with 200x200 pixel size (total area 40000 pixels) This image have a background, that can be trasparent, or every color (but i know the background-color in advance). Lets say that in the middle of this image, there is a picture (for keep the example simple lets suppose is a square drawn), of 100x100 pixels (total area 10000 pixels). I need to know the area percentage that the small square fill inside the image. So, in i know the full image size and the background-color, there is a way in php/python to scan the image and retrieve that (in short, counting the pixel that are different from the given background)? In the above example, the result should be 25%

    Are there any filters that would make background image to be displayed as black-and-white? What I mean, is this: i have a background image set via css using background: url(/image.png); But now I need to apply a filter so that an image is shown as black-white only. Ideally, I would like to also apply opacity to it. The effect I really trying to achieve is to have background image black/white and on hover over that span element the filter would be removed, revealing the color version. And of cause it has to work in FF, Chrome, IE Can someone help me?
