  • pdf to swf with deeplinking concepts

    Hi, Right now i'm working on a project which involves in converting pdf docs to swf file. Using FlexPaper (http://flexpaper.devaldi.com/), I converted pdf to swf. I have used deeplinking concepts to link to a particular page from external html link, but if I want to link to a particular bookmark/named destination, I can not be able to do so. I have tried so many ways & ended up in failure. Kindly let me know, if some one knows a way.Thanks in advance.

    I have an SWF loading in an SWF containing a papervision scene.     Hello, I am an uber n00b to flash AS3. And it is not my intention to sound like a complete moron, but honestly, I have had a hard enough time figuring out just how to load an external .swf into my main file! And now my friend is asking me if I could please add a button within the external .swf which will unload itself and load a new on in its place... I have looked around in the forums for an answer for a while now and I believe it is time for me to break down, admit defeat, and ask for help. Can someone please tell me it's not that difficult..? Surely it is possible... Thank you in advance for any advice at all! I am looking forward to the time when I can post a response here!

    I am really stuck with modifying a .swf file. I just downloaded a SWF file somewhere and I want to remove all objects and animations - everything except the logo ripple effect. How can I do that? Or is it impossible? I didn't work with Flash before and this is my first time. Can you help me with that? If not, could I just get some hints or a demo on how I can do that?   • Continuous playing swf on Static Website.

    Hello. I have a music player swf embedded on an html page. Is there any way to have the music continuously play, even when the different html pages are loaded? When a link is clicked, the page is refreshed, also restarting the swf(music). If the site was AJAX driven, this wouldn't be a problem, but all my pages are static. I suppose I could put the entire body in an iframe, but there has to be a better option. I am certainly open to the idea of using ajax here, but I do not have much ajax experience. Any ideas?

  • Accessing functions in a swf-file through javascript [chatroulette.com]

    Lately I have been interested in the code behind chatroulette.com. As you probably know it is a peer-to-peer webcam-chat-service written in actionscript, as I understand. What i have been wondering about is weather its possible to extract the ip-address of whomever you are currently communicating with. I have seen services that do that, but they require that you install a program that runs alongside on your computer sniffing UDP-packages. I was wondering if there was a simpler method. What I do know is that the javascript on the page communicates with the application via "ExternalInterface". On this area I am pretty much a novice but according to my limited understanding you cant get information from the flash-application unless you have configured a listener for a call from javascript and then attach a callback to that event. Is this correct or can you access public functions and variables directly through javascript? There is for example a public function like this: public function get outgoingAddress():String{ return (this.__info.outgoingAddress); } Can it be accessed directly through javascript? If it cant be done so easily, is it possible to decompile the .swf-file, change it (add some functions) and recompile it and run it instead? I am hoping someone can satisfy my curiosity here. I want to purchase this flash piano but i would have to change some of its functionality so I need to make sure it's possible before i purchase. Eg I have a flash application that is requesting http://example.com/myImage.png The code in the flash application cannot be changed but I want to be able to either use another flash or some javascript to write that URL as the image is beging requested - to something like example.com/myImage.png?u=123456

    I'd like to turn Powerpoint presentations to SWF files the same way that OpenOffice does it, except automatically through a command line call. I came across http://stackoverflow.com/questions/886144, which led me to explore PyUNO bridge, which comes with OpenOffice as well as the OpenOffice command line API, but I wasn't able to make anything productive of it. Any guidance is appreciated. If there is a good solution outside of OpenOffice, I would be happy to try it too.

    I had been using SWFToImage for a specifc client, but have recently migrated to 64bit Windows Server 2008 As this dll was compiled for 32bit managed code, it will not run in my new 64bit environment. I've tried to follow the instructions the developer has presented here with no luck: How to run and use SWF To Image on x64 Windows Alas, I'm a simple web developer and just don't have my head around Windows application development. I may just be misunderstanding or missing some fundamental step in the process. Has anyone been able to get this dll to work on a 64bit server environment? Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

    Does anybody know of a free flash obfuscator? All I can find are commercial ones with free trials. I have done numerous google searches, and have been unable to find what I am looking for. I know that obfuscators do not make your swf hack proof, but they make things harder. Things I am looking for in an obfuscator: Unlimited obfuscations No time limit No watermark (or on the left side only! Right side is no good, same with center) Able to publish work (no special player needed other than standard flashplayer) I really was surprised to see how hard it was to find a good obfuscator (tried encoder, protection, etc. instead as well) and how easy it is to find a decompiler.... It is imperative that my code be protected, at least partially, to discourage the hacking of my game.

    I'm not sure how to describe this, but basically I have a PHP class file: class HelloHello { public function getSomeData($input_parameter){ // code to retrieve data from the database } public function deleteSomeData($input_parameter){ // code to delete data from the database } } This class is on the server and is part of the backend that connects with a database, and it's meant to be accessed by the frontend SWF only (not to be directly accessed). I've setup Flex to read this class and access it. But how do I make sure that someone doesn't develop a script that can call this php file directly and access its methods? For example using a script to add data in a fast automated way, or use the delete method directly, ouch. Is this a legitimate concern, or this can't be done?

  • How do I view the location of an swf file that is obscured somehow.

    Specifically, I'm trying to view Elmo's Keyboard-o-rama fullscreen. The original swf file at www.sesameworkshop.org/uploaded-images/9495524/additional/main_game-6.swf has been moved and obscured. For a toddler, this game really needs to be full screen! The toddler doesn't mind too much and has already lost interest in the game for the day. But it's just driving me crazy. I've tried the usual method of viewing the page info in Firefox to no avail. And before people start trying to delete this for being game specific, I would like to know how to do this for any obfuscated swf location, not just games. Thanks in advance.

    I have a Flash slideshow that plays SWFs listed in an XML file. I would like to have the upcoming SWF load while the current one displays. I've tried all sorts of combinations of LoadMovie and LoadMovieNum, including creating an empty movie clip, but there's something I'm just not getting. Right now, after making the first round through all the files, it transitions smoothly from slide to slide, but I'd like for it to preload so that it transitions without the "Loading..." screen the first time around.     Is it possible to retrieve a GET variable within a PHP script and subsequently send the variable data to an SWF on the same script/document? I want the user to select an item on a PHP document and then use a Flash application I am developing to manipulate that data. I know how to load data from a PHP script into an SWF via URLLoader, but only by initiating the loading process from within the SWF. So, I am asking if it's possible to send the PHP data to the SWF from external source. Would the SWF need to listen in some manner? Is Javascript necessary here? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Package SWF into an EXE or APP

    I am trying to adjust my Flash development workflow so that I am using Flash Builder for all of my coding and multiple FLA files for the user interfaces. I will be creating an ActionScript project in Flash Builder and then having each FLA export a SWC into a resources folder. It is important that I retain the ability to export PC and Mac -- EXE and app, respectively -- projector files. Is there a way of doing this with the Flash compiler or any 3rd party tools?
