• Bulk stop watching tickets on Lighthouse?

  Via the Lighthouse user interface, is there any way to bulk stop watching tickets? I have more than 150 tickets on a project I want to stop watching, and would just as soon not go into each and every one of them. I thought the bulk edit command might work, but there doesn't appear to be a watch keyword in the bulk edit stuff (which is fair enough, I'm not really editing the tickets). When I go to my profile, I can subscribe or unsubscribe to an entire project, but I'm not seeing a way to do this at the (bulk) ticket level. Looking at a list of the tickets I'm watching, I'm not seeing a way to do anything to all of them (other than the bulk edit command of course). Is there something I'm missing?

• Can Qt's QWebView display programatically generated XML?

  Using Qt 4.6, I can dynamically add to an HTML page like this: ui->webView->page()->mainFrame()->documentElement().findFirst("body").appendInside("<i>some text</i>\n"); However, if I QWebView::load() an XML file, it displays it with the correct CSS styling (from an processing instruction), but doesn't show any changes when I do something like: ui->webView->page()->mainFrame()->documentElement().findFirst("lines").appendInside("<line>hello</line>\n"); Why is it treating them differently, and is there a way to modify an XML document in the same way I can an HTML one?

• [MySQL/PHP] Avoid using RAND()

  So... I have never had a need to do a random SELECT on a MySQL DB until this project I'm working on. After researching it seems the general populous says that using RAND() is a bad idea. I found an article that explains how to do another type of random select. Basically, if I want to select 5 random elements, I should do the following (I'm using the Kohana framework here)? If not, what is a better solution? • Why doesn't Request.IsAjaxRequest() work in ASP.NET MVC 3?

  I'm creating a new project, asp.net mvc3 with Razor, and wanting to turn the LogOn into an ajax request. HTML @using (Ajax.BeginForm("LogOn", "Account", new AjaxOptions { HttpMethod="post", OnSuccess="LoginSubmitted"})) { } Controller if (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) { return Json(new { ResultMessage = "Username or password provided is incorrect"}); } else { ModelState.AddModelError("", "The user name or password provided is incorrect."); } Everything else remains the same. First, looking at the the http response with Fiddler, I notice there is no x-requested-with header. So I add <input type="hidden" name="X-Requested-With" value="XMLHttpRequest" /> That seems to work, but now what I receive back is a Json object, which isn't being parsed and instead Google Chrome is just rendering the Json to screen. Whats happening?

• Is it possible to change the pane locations in Chrome Developer Tools?

  When debugging browser-based apps using Google Chrome's Developer Tools, is there a way to change the locations of the various panes? E.g., the Watch Expressions, the Call Stack, the code pane, etc.? The defaults are okay (console at bottom, code pane upper left, a column of Watch Expressions, Call Stack, Scope Vars, etc. in the upper right), but I'd rather swap things around a bit of it's possible. There doesn't seem to be anything to grab (other than for sizing) and I haven't found a way in my searching so far, but there are (still) some things about Chrome's options that aren't ... well-advertised in the UI, shall we say :-), especially around developer tools.

  I'm trying to figure out if I should continue on with a current pattern in an application I'm working in, or refactor this into something else. I have a set of collection classes off a generic base of List. These classes have public constructors but contain only static methods that return collections. • How do partialviews work in asp.net MVC when passing parameters back?

  I have a page with a partialview on it which is a list of items. I have a button on it which shows the next 5 items. How do I keep track of that variable?

Ultimately I am trying to build a simple menu where on mouseover the menu item appears to slide up. But in reality Jquery can animate the toggleClass with slideToggle. The problem is that this current code doesn't behave right. It jumps up and down, because the text is moving. I am pretty new to Jquery so any help is greatly appreciated.   I have created a database model in Visio Professional (2003). I know that the Enterprise version has the ability to create a DB in Sql Server based on the data in Visio. I do not have the option to install Enterprise. Aside from going through the entire thing one table and relationship at a time and creating the whole database from scratch, by hand, can anyone recommend any tool/utility/method for converting the visio database model into a Sql Script that can be used to create a new DB in Sql Server?

• nServiceBus registering subscribers but subscribers not receiving messages

  My subscriber queue isn't picking up messages. The only unusual aspect to this is that the publisher is receiving messages which are generated from a website (and then a class library) which are then WCF'd to the publisher who publishes on behalf of the website/class library. If I remove the publisher's <add Messages=""> then I get an error saying the publisher doesn't know where to route the messages. Help! I've almost cut'n'pasted the WcfIntegration and PubSub samples, so I don't know why it isn't working! I have this scenario -- I am to read from a text file a string that may or may not contain an environment variable that may or may not be defined. For example: <foo.bar> This error code was found: $(error_code) I have the following code: statement=$(sed -n $1'p' $messagefile) echo $echo_flag $statement $1 = line number supplied to this particular function/script. $messagefile = filename of log file. $echo_flag = "-e" in Linux, otherwise, empty. $(error_code) = 42. Instead of getting this when running: <foo.bar> This error code was found: 42 I still get this: <foo.bar> This error code was found: $(error_code) How exactly do I tell the shell script that the value of statement should be evaluated further beyond what sed have done?

My Efforts I have gone through the info on this link, which has details regarding different operators on PDF documents. I also studied this document from Apple about PDF parsing with Quartz. I also went through the entire PDF reference document from the Adobe site.
