    What software do you use to automatically add lyrics to MP3 files? I mean the kind of sotware that can scan your entire Windows Media Player or iTunes library and do the job. I want to add lyrics to my MP3 files so that when I'm listening to music on my iPhone I can see the lyrics on the screen. Thank you very much for helping me out to find the best software out there.   • What's the best way I can import/display lyrics for iTunes on a mac?

    I'm currently using iClip Lyrics, but apparently it's being discontinued. It can't import lyrics from certain lyrics sites (such as wikia) because they've used some javascript/iframe mix to make copy/pasting difficult. I was wondering if there were other options that are better at importing lyrics automatically as well as displaying lyrics. Bonus points for solutions that handle unicode encoded characters too, since a good portion of my music library is asian.

I'm thinking maybe i can make a live MP3 stream? maybe over the web, or over the intranet?     I'm listening to a net radio on my PC I want the sound to go through my boombox cause it has nice speakers/amp The boombox has no "incoming" audio jack that just plays what comes over the wire However the boombox has a USB jack where you can put a thumbdrive with music. The question: How do I make the PC pretend to be a mass-storage device, and dynamically send all received audiodata to the boombox over a symmetric male USB cable?   • Is there software to automatically change song speed without transposing it

    Goal: automatically adjusting speed (bpm) of a given set of MP3 files in order to have a collection of music optimized to be heard when I am running. (I realized that I prefer to run with about 168 bpm in my ears). Of course, I could have some software to detect BPM and then calculate and stretch/squeeze each song using Audacity or a similar tool, however, I'd prefer a solution which requires less manual operation.

I am able to fetch scrobbles without any trouble using the user_actions.listens. Also, if there is a recent activity story, e.g. "Peter listened to The Shins", I am able to get information about the band. The problem only happens on attachments.

    I have been trying to follow the steps in the book Ruby Practical Project - making music with ruby and was trying to get CoreMIDI and output some notes using SimpleSynth. I can connect to the destination but when i do something like midi = LiveMIDI.new midi.note_on(0, 60, 100) I get no output from the sound system. Has anyone tried the code and faced similar situation?? And also What are the better libraries for music programming in Ruby?

  • Where do I file bugs for the Ubuntu One music client for Android?

    I've recently started using the Ubuntu One Music streaming client for Android. From the web page it says that the android app is based on Subsonic. I want to file bugs on the app, mostly feature requests and things like that, and from looking at the screenshots, the application seems to be Subsonic preconfigured to use my U1 music collection. Is it appropriate for me to file feature requests with Subsonic, or is there a Launchpad project where we're supposed to file bugs which are then vetted and sent upstream?

    I have a problem with Ubuntu 11.10. I can connect my Nokia C6-01 as a Massive Storage and Ubuntu will recognize it like a flash drive. But when I try to use Songbird, Rhythmbox, GMusic Browser and Amarok they arent even detecting it. I checked the add ons in everyone of them and they all have the mtp one. I want to be able to synchronize without problems my phone´s music but it´s so annoying to drag and drop my music and podcasts.

I tried to launch it myself, the system rebukes me too.   • Parallax backgrounds in OpenGL ES on the iPhone

    I've got basically a 2d game on the iPhone and I'm trying to set up multiple backgrounds that scroll at different speeds (known as parallax backgrounds). So my thought was to just stick the backgrounds BEHIND the foreground using different z-coordinate planes, and just make them bigger than the foreground (in size) to accommodate, so that the whole thing can be scrolled (just at a different speed). And (as far as I know) I basically implemented that. The only problem is that it seems to entirely ignore whatever z-value I give it, or rather it just zeroes all of them. I see the background (I've only tested ONE background so far, to keep it simple...so for now I just have a foreground and I want one background scrolling at a different speed), but it scrolls 1:1 with my foreground, so it obviously doesn't look right, and most of it is cut off (cause it's bigger). And I've tried various z-values for the background and various near/far clipping planes...it's always the same. I'm probably just doing one simple thing wrong, but I can't figure it out. I'm wondering if it has to do with me using only 2 coordinates in glVertexPointer for the foreground? (Of course for the background I AM passing in 3) I'll post some code: This is some initial setup: glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glOrthof(-1.0f, 1.0f, -1.5f, 1.5f, -10.0f, 10.0f); glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glEnableClientState(GL_VERTEX_ARRAY); //glEnableClientState(GL_COLOR_ARRAY); glEnableClientState(GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY); //transparency glEnable (GL_BLEND); glBlendFunc (GL_ONE, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA); A little bit about my foreground's float array....it's interleaved. For my foreground it goes vertex x, vertex y, texture x, texture y, repeat. This all works just fine. This is my FOREGROUND rendering: glVertexPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 4*sizeof(GLfloat), texes); <br> glTexCoordPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 4*sizeof(GLfloat), (GLvoid*)texes + 2*sizeof(GLfloat)); <br> glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLES, 0, indexCount / 4); BACKGROUND rendering: Same drill here except this time it goes vertex x, vertex y, vertex z, texture x, texture y, repeat. Note the z value this time. I did make sure the data in this array was correct while debugging (getting the right z values). And again, it shows up...it's just not going far back in the distance like it should. glVertexPointer(3, GL_FLOAT, 5*sizeof(GLfloat), b1Texes); glTexCoordPointer(2, GL_FLOAT, 5*sizeof(GLfloat), (GLvoid*)b1Texes + 3*sizeof(GLfloat)); glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLES, 0, b1IndexCount / 5); And to move my camera, I just do a simple glTranslatef(x, y, 0.0f); I'm not understanding what I'm doing wrong cause this seems like the most basic 3D function imaginable...things further away are smaller and don't move as fast when the camera moves. Not the case for me. Seems like it should be pretty basic and not even really be affected by my projection and all that (though I've even tried doing glFrustum just for fun, no success). Please help, I feel like it's just one dumb thing. I will post more code if necessary.

  • WCF Service with callbacks coming from background thread?

    Here is my situation. I have written a WCF service which calls into one of our vendor's code bases to perform operations, such as Login, Logout, etc. A requirement of this operation is that we have a background thread to receive events as a result of that action. For example, the Login action is sent on the main thread. Then, several events are received back from the vendor service as a result of the login. There can be 1, 2, or several events received. The background thread, which runs on a timer, receives these events and fires an event in the wcf service to notify that a new event has arrived. I have implemented the WCF service in Duplex mode, and planned to use callbacks to notify the UI that events have arrived. Here is my question: How do I send new events from the background thread to the thread which is executing the service? Right now, when I call OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<IMyCallback>(), the OperationContext is null. Is there a standard pattern to get around this? I am using PerSession as my SessionMode on the ServiceContract. UPDATE: I thought I'd make my exact scenario clearer by demonstrating how I'm receiving events from the vendor code. My library receives each event, determines what the event is, and fires off an event for that particular occurrence. I have another project which is a class library specifically for connecting to the vendor service. The background is applied to the div.page but because its child is getting resized, it resizes as well, cutting off the background image. It's hard to explain so please look at the link above to see what I mean. I guess what I'm trying to ask is: is there a way to resize an element without resizing its parent? I tried setting height and min-height of .page to 100% and 101% but that didn't work. I tried making the background image fixed, but nada. It also happens if I add the background to the body or even html. Help?

  • Macports, Fink, Hombrew: Background Processes?

    If I install a package manager such as Macports, Fink or Homebrew, how does it affect the startup and running of my system? It seems like the answer should be "Not at all when you're not using them" but I'm worried that they will break other software (like Mono) or run background processes. Is my fear totally misplaced? Are they just programs like any others? They sure seem to put their footprint around the OS in quite a few places.

    Login Windows load modern UI Only when I click on the "Desktop" tile shortcut that my desktop is really loaded, it take a few seconds to open everything (like rainmeter and other things) How can I make windows load both modern UI and my desktop on the background? I don't want to skip the modern UI just autoload the desktop. Similar to add something.exe to the startup, but what executable should I use? I've tried explorer.exe but didn't work.

    Hi Im trying to print a php generated document in chrome, on the browser it looks fine But my printer will not print any coloured backgrounds. I know that IE has an option to print background but chrome does not . As the end user will print this off I do not want to find alternatives like a screen grab or save file etc I want to find a real solution to this . Can anyone offer any suggestions please ? Thanks
