    Hi, I am making a doctor appointment slot booking mechanism,where in doctor appointment slots will be divided into 30 mins slot each...i have achieved all the working code.. 1 problem i am facing is that..this booking is made at 2 places i.e 2 receptions..so when 1 selects a slot(radio button) not yet confirmed and saved in DB.other reception must not be able to select .how do i do it.any help on this...how do i go abt it.

    In a set of radio buttons of the same group, only one can be selected at the same time. I would like to have the same behaviour with a normal button. Imagine there's a row of 3 buttons. When a button is selected it changes: but.setSelected(true) and the other two buttons should be NOT selected: but.setSelected(false) Now, is there a generic, simple and clean solution to accomplish that in Java (Swing) ?

    I have a list of Filemaker database names Each DB name has a list of field/attribute pairs associated with it I have a windows form application in C# 4.0 (vs2010) that wants to use the above data I would like to maintain the list either in the Visual Studio settings page, or in one of the standard visual studio settings files using the standard .NET settings calls I would like to avoid writing my own custom settings, xml, xds (to avoid the "Could not find schema information for the element/attribute " errors) I just have a slightly complicated INI file! I don't want to complicate my life! Do any easy solutions exist? Unless someone has a brighter idea, I am simply going to write string settings with names that indicate it's a FM DB (e.g. "fmdbAddresses"), and values that concat my field/attribute pairs (e.g. "gUserResult=skipField|gAddressID=convertToInt|gAddressID=uniqueIx")

    Hi, Is there an API where I can search for a song, and then stream the preview of the song on my site? Looked into Amazon MP3, but I can't seem to find an API for Amazon MP3. Also looked into last.fm Track.Search api, but seems like the return value doesn't seem to give the actual filename. (i.e mp3 etc), which means I can't stream it on my site.     I'm writing a music reference app and for each album (pulled from last.fm) would like to link to the ITMS (if the album is in the store). iTunes link maker web tool http://apple.com/itunes/linkmaker/ is great for getting links for a known album but I need to access it programatically from within my app. This NSLog blogpost which is from 2003 but was referenced more recently in another question here seems to offer the only solution I've come across so far, suggesting to submit a query to: phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/advancedSearchResults? Put "itms://" before it and the link will work in iTunes, put "http://" before it and the link will work in Camino (Safari sometimes spits back a malformed XML error). The tags that are of importance are as follows: songTerm - song title artistTerm - artist name albumTerm - album name composerTerm - composer name term - all fields The suggestion is that would using http:// rather than itms:// the server will return an XML document of results instead of opening iTunes but either way I am sent directly to iTunes. Is it possible to get back a list of results?

  • How can I make a career in Formal Methods programming in USA?

    I've found that my (USA) professors recoil with a near-disgust when I ask them about how to pursue a career in Formal Methods programming. They say, "Oh, that stuff! That stuff is anal. You don't need that European POS to get a job." I'm sure I'll get a job without it, but Formal Methods interests me so much that I bet I'd like to make a career of it. I'd like to learn about Formal Methods at an American University and then work in that field here. I've found that even professors at more important universities than mine don't seem to welcome Formal Methods. Almost all FM research project webpages are semi-abandoned and moldering. Europe is where the action seems to be for this. Can anyone suggest a plan of attack, and along the way explain the antipathy to Formal Methods in the US? I'm a sophomore at a public university in the South.

For my test, i decided to change the languages and regions from "french" to "english" in system preferences. When i launch my application, it displays always old XIB files (french) et not the XIB files "attached" to my new localization ! ** I followed all the recommendations which i was able to find : i cleared all caches, clean up the project, ... and so on !     I've got some json from last.fm's api which I've serialised into a dictionary using simplejson. A quick example of the basic structure is below. { "artist": "similar": { "artist": { "name": "Blah", "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "small"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "medium"} "image": {"#text":"URLHERE","size": "large"} } } } Any ideas how I can access the image urls of various different sizes. My attempts at accessing the #text variable don't seem to work because python doesn't appear to like #'s in the names. And any ideas how I can easily get the url for the depending on the size?
