    Hi, I have stupid problem, what is correct syntax on verify certificate in certificate store with certutil.exe. I have client certificate in cerstore. I try this: certutil.exe -verify CertCommonName but in finish with this error : DecodeFile returned The system cannot find the file specified. 0x80070002 (WIN32 : 2) LoadCert(Cert) returned The system cannot find the file specified. 0x80070002 (W IN32: 2) CertUtil: -verify command FAILED: 0x80070002 (WIN32: 2) CertUtil: The system cannot find the file specified. When I ping certutil.exe -ping it connect to pc.

  • Any problems usinga GoDaddy SSL certificate on a Cisco ASA firewall?

    I need to purchase and install a SSL certificate on my Cisco ASA firewall. This will allow my VPN users to connect to my ASA without receiving the certificate error from the untrusted self assigned SSL certificate that is currently on the ASA. I had good experiences with the SSL certificates that GoDaddy sells. However, I'm concerned about using them. On my web servers I have to also install GoDaddy's "intermediate certificate bundle". On the ASA I do not think that I will be able to preform anything like this. I do not fully understand what the "intermediate certificate bundle" does, but obviously it's important. So my question is can I use a GoDaddy SSL certificate on an ASA without my users getting any type of warning or error about connecting to a site that using an untrusted SSL certificate. I need this to be as simple as possible for my end users and warning messages are always scary :) Thanks!

  • Clearing Java certificates cache (force reload certificates)

    A simple question here. One application gave me this exception when trying to access a website with a expired certificate: java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException So, I renewed the certificated from the website machine and restarted it. When I try to access it from Firefox or Chrome it will load the new certificate (which it's expiration date is set somewhere near 2040). The problem is, Java applications doesn't seems to renew this certificate, it seems to be stuck in some kind of internal cache. I already tried to add it to the keystore and set options in the application properties like -Dcom.sun.net.ssl.checkRevocation=false. No matter what I do, it always throw me a java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException Any ideas?

  • Using wildcard SSL certs (chain certificate) with mod_gnutls

    I have a wildcard SSL certificate from GoDaddy that has three files: wildcard.crt gd_bundle.crt wildcard.key In setting up mod_gnutls to be used with Apache, I can get the site to come up, but it throws a warning that the SSL certificate has not been validated by a CA. When I use mod_ssl, I can stipulate a SSLCertificateChainFile directive and point it at the bd_bundle.crt file. I do not see how to do this with mod_gnutls. Any help is appreciated. I also know that mod_ssl supports SNI, so if there is not an easy answer, I will just try that. Thanks, QWade

    Hi all, I want to have different SSL certificates for different domains that I am hosting in a single Jetty instance. I do not want to front my Jetty application server with Apache. I am running Jetty 6.1.22. So far, I have only seen configurations with a single SSL certificate, and the configuration for SSL happens within server which leads me to believe that Jetty was designed to support a single SSL certificate. Please let me know if I can use Jetty with more than 1 certificate. I am considering migrating to JBoss Application Server 6.0 since it is closer to a real application server. Is this something that can be done there, and is it a supported feature? Walter

    I have a Win 2003 server and I'm using Ionics Isapi Rewrite Filter to redirect requests made to a Web Site configured in IIS to another Apache2 Server in a server not exposed to the Internet. The Web Site has its host headers configured to catch requests for the specific site, and the redirection is being done with the ProxyPass directive. This is working OK. So far the scenario, my question is: I'd like to add a server certificate to the Apache server, but I don´t know if I need to add the certificate to both Apache and IIS sites. I think I still don´t get the theory behind this and would like to know from someone with expertise in the field the right way to implement this. Thank you in advance.

The use of the certificate flag is clear, I set it to use the PEM version of the client certificate. But when I connect I get the following error: HTTP request sent, awaiting response... Read error (error:14094410:SSL routines: SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure; error:140940E5:SSL routines:SSL3_ READ_BYTES:ssl handshake failure) in headers. Giving up. ssl handshake failure means the client did not supply a correct client cert. Still the client cert I use, works in a browser. Note: When I disable client authentication on the server, wget can connect. Note: The use of curl is suggested, but I'd like to avoid the switch.

    From this morning I get this error whenever I access Google Docs and some websites. My system datetime is correct and I checked "Automatically from the Internet". My BIOS is OK. I cleared everything (cache, cookie, private data) in Chrome and restarted OS but nothing changes. How to fix it? Firefox works but Chrome has that problem. The site's security certificate is not trusted! You attempted to reach docs.google.com, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Google Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications. You cannot proceed because the website operator has requested heightened security for this domain.

    I am trying to get RabbitMQ working with SSL on a couple of Gentoo servers. I get the following error in /var/log/rabbitmq/[email protected] when I try to connect to the management console using https: SSL: certify: ssl_connection.erl:1641:Fatal error: bad certificate I followed the instructions here: http://www.rabbitmq.com/ssl.html The annoying thing is that I have 2 cloned servers and it is working on one and not the other. As far as I can tell the machines are configured identically. I wrote a script to generate the certs etc. and have run it on both. I am not using client certificates. Anyone know how I can figure out whats wrong with my certificate(s)? I am using Erlang 15.2, RabbitMQ 2.7.9, OpenSSL 0.9.8k.

    To test a specific embedded client, I need to set up a web server serving a couple of SSL (HTTPS) sites, say "main.mysite.com" and "alternate.mysite.com". These should be handled by the same certificate, with a Subject Name of "main.mysite.com" and a Subject Alternative Name of "alternate.mysite.com". This certificate needs to be in an authority chain back to a 'proper' CA (such as GoDaddy, to keep the cost down). My question is, are there any good tutorials on how to do this, or can someone explain the process? What sort of parent certificate do I need to purchase from the CA provider? My understanding of SSL certificates is limited, but as Manuel said in Fawlty Towers, "I learn...". I'm happy to work in Windows (IIS) or Linux (Apache) (or even OSX, for that matter).     I'm trying to convert an existing svn repository to a mercurial repo with the following command hg convert <repository> <folder> My problem is that the svn repository's authentication is done with p12 certificates. I'm a bit lost on how to configure the certificate for the hg client so that I can pull the svn repo and convert it. Currently, if I try to run the above command, I get initializing destination hg-client repository abort: error: _ssl.c:480: error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure In other words, it cannot find the required certificate. The question is, how do I configure my hg client so that it can use my certificate? I'm using the command line hg client on linux.

  • How do I set up an sftp user to login with a password to an EC2 ubuntu server ?

    Hello, I have an Ubuntu Server running on an EC2 instance. To login to that server I use a certificate file without any password. I've installed and configured vsftpd and created a user (let's call him "testuser") for which I've set a /bin/false ssh terminal so it will only be able to connect via sftp and upload/access files on his home directory. However - when I try to connect to the server from my computer, running sftp testuser@my-ec2-server I get Permission denied (publickey). Connection closed messages so I can't log in. How can I remove the certificate requirement for this user only (meaning, the "ubuntu" user will still have to use the certificate file to login via ssh), so normal sftp clients will be able to connect using a username and a password ? Thank you. PS Using Ubuntu Server 10.10 official AMI from canonical, 64bit on a micro instance.

    Recently I've had to uninstall a single Self-Signed SSL Certificate from one of my Apache boxes, specifically for an outside party. That's not really a problem for me, since it was easy. What confuses me is how they knew I had a self-signed certificate. The domain I provided them was not related to the domain with the self-signed certificate. Does this mean Apache publicizes the Virtual hosts in the httpd.conf file? I asked the outside party what software they used to extract information from my server, and they provided this GitHub link: https://gist.github.com/4ndrej/4547029 I figured I'd ask the community first, before I attempt installing the Java program.

  • SSL Certificate only works when session active in Server 2008

    I have a web app that uses an installed certificate to send a web request to a 3rd party web service. This has worked for a long time on Windows Server 2003, but just recently we found a problem with it on 2008 installations. When logged into the server as the same user the App Pool uses, either locally or via remote desktop, the web app and it's secure 3rd party request works fine. However, when there are no user sessions open, the 3rd party request fails, as if the certificate were not attached to the web request. Any ideas?

    Our application originally used a single Apache server with mod_perl installed to serve up all HTTPS requests. Due to memory issues I've added a lighter Apache installation and used ProxyPass to hand off the Perl requests to the mod_perl enabled server. We currently have an SSL certificate installed on the mod_perl server but I'm struggling to understand whether we need a certificate for both servers or only the lightweight server which is receiving the original requests. Or can a certificate be used for more than one server on a single machine? Thanks in advance for any help/pointers.

As soon as the installation has completed you will see this window. All relevant file types are checked by default, but you may deselect any that you do not want associated with Kingsoft Office before clicking Close. Special Note: See further below for additional information about the extra formats (i.e. Office 2007 & 2010) that the suite will open. Here is a quick overall view of what the Writer App window looks like. Each of the three apps in the suite will open with the New Document Pane displayed by default on the right side of the window.
