  • My email server is blacklisted what can I do

    I have discovered that my email server has been blacklisted by http://www.five-ten-sg.com What affect is that going to have on my sending and receiving emails and is there anything I can do about it to fix it. All the emails I am sending are going out by IIS6 SMTP server, so any suggestions for how to configure this better gratefully received.

  • Mysql replication, Slow resyncing of slave after an error

    I have a slave that got an error about a months or so ago and got way behind the master. I fixed the error and now playing catchup with the master but its going very slowly. Its going at 1.3x real time. I was using less that 10% of the db resources when these writes were first happening so the speed of the server shouldn't be an issue. Is there any settings I can switch to help the slave catch up with the master?

  • Nagios test of smtp configuration

    Is there a way of configuring a nagios check that a smtp service is correctly configured and emails are going out. I have a check that the service is running, but recently we noticed that the configuration had been altered and no emails where going out, but the service was still running. One idea I had was to schedule a regular email to be sent, is it possible for nagios to check for that email and throw an alert if it didn't detect it? Any other ideas to monitor this gratefully received.

  • Cannot access client pc remotely due to time/date issue xp win2k3 environment

    When I run psexec to the user desktop (xp pro) I get "There is a time and/or date difference between the client and the server." I also get "access denied" when I run the at \clientname time /interactive "net time \server /set /y" command. I cannot access the machine from my win2k3 server's AD Users and Computers utilities. Is going to the machine the only way to remedy? Clarify: Going to the machine and doing the net time command works, but I want a remote solution please.

  • Squid Log Rotation and Sarg

    We have just setup squid as our proxy, and i was going to use Sarg to analyze the log files. I had initially set the Squid logs to rotate everyday so they dont get huge. The problem is i cant see an option in the squid config to read a folder full of squid log files (say *.log). Is there an easy way to do this or am i going to have to write a bash script or something to process them all into one before i get squid to read it? Cheers Luke

  • Windows 98 style flat icons in Windows XP

    I am using Windows XP. I am tired of looking at the folder icons in Windows XP. I changed the color depth to 256 colors and the folder icons in Windows Explorer changed to the flat - windows 95/98 style icons. I loved them! is there a way to tell windows explorer to show those flat old style icons for folders? without going to 8-bit? Note: I am okay with going down from 32-bit, but 8 is way too low to work with.

  • Setting up Virtual Hosts with Apache on Windows 2008 server for multiple sites. Complicated setup, including subversion

    I am setting up apache on my windows 2008 server at my home. It will serve 2 functions. Subversion hosting to allow me and some others to manage company documents with version control Local website hosting for web development. Will need to run several websites since I generally work on more then one site at a time. Heres what I have done so far. I set up subversion and apache 2.2 using some walk troughs. I changed the default port to 1337. (im a nerd) Using dyndns.com I created a domain to forward to my home ip which is dynamic. ( company.gotdns.org) I then went into my DNS for my company.com and added a record to point repo.company.com to company.gotdns.org At this point people who need access to my file repository can access by going to repo.company.com/repo which is good so far. My question comes on the next step, setting up virtual hosts with apache. Ideally I would like to have my local website be viewable by some others in the company from their homes. So, say I am working on site1, I would like to have them be able to view this by going site1.roeland.bythepixel.com. At the same time, I would like to have site10.wouter.bythepixel.com go to his local setup for site10. What I have done for this: I went into my DNS for company.com and added a record to point roeland.company.com to company.gotdns.org (which translates to my ip). I added code to my httpd-vhosts.conf (listed at bottom) I added code to my host file (listed at bottom) Hah, so of course this doenst work as excepted.. going to site1.roeland.bythepixel.com doesnt bring up my test1 site. Could anyone point me where I may be going wrong?     I tend to leave Skype calls on overnight, and for some reason Skype overrides my computer going idle. I have no idea why this is; it prevents Pidgin from idling, as well as some other programs, and prevents my computer from going into power-saving turning off the monitor. Anyway, is there a way to manually turn the monitor off on a laptop in Windows 7?

I used windirstat which tells you how much data a folder is holding but i still cant figure out the problem. I did notice a folder holding 1.7gb for visual studio's intellitrack (or whatever that thing is called)

  • Can a virus attack my BIOS to disable the DVD drive?

    A friend's laptop DVD drive is suddenly no longer detected. It's going to be difficult to walk him through going into the BIOS (he's not local). I wonder if it is even worthwhile i.e. whether the BIOS settings can be corrupted by a virus. Are BIOS settings formatted in a standard way such that a virus writer would know what to alter? FYI, he did reinstall the OS and the drive is still not detected.

  • How to share screen & computer sound in skype on windows 7?

    I'd like to watch a video with sound on one computer, share the screen, and have the sound heard by the other computer, not going through the speakers. i.e. it should transmit the video from my screen and the same sound that's going to the speakers, right off the sound card. It is possible to do on XP, but not on 7. I have tried to use the stereo mix as the sound source, but it seems that skype blocks that.

The database schema for storing the message is as follows: StorageId int IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, FolderName nvarchar(255) NOT NULL, MessageId nvarchar(3999) NOT NULL, MessageDate datetime NOT NULL, StorageData ntext NULL In the StorageData field I am going to store the MIME message as byte array. But the problem arises when I am going to implement search on the stored messages. I have no idea how I am going to index the messages on top of this schema.     How can I see which commits are actually going to be pushed to a remote repository? As far as I know, whenever I pull master from the remote repository, commits are likely to be generated, even if they're empty. This causes the local master to be 'forward' even if there is really nothing to push. Now, if I try (from master): git cherry origin master I have an idea of what's going to be pushed, though this also display some commits that I've already pushed. Is there a way to display only the new content that's going to be pushed?

    Hi, When an UITextField is firstResponder, I would like to bring to front an UIDatePicker (bottom part of the screen) without the "going down keyboard" (no call to UITextField resignFirstResponder). The aim is to process like UIKeyboard of UITextField which pop-up on nearly everything when it becomeFirstResponder. modalViewController seems to be fullscreen only. - showDatePicker:(id)sender { if([taskName isFirstResponder]) [taskName resignFirstResponder]; [self.view.window addSubview: self.pickerView]; // size up the picker view and compute the start/end frame origin (...) [UIView commitAnimations]; } This example is an animation of keyboard going down, and DatePicker going up, behind and not in front. Do you know a solution ? A piece of code would be welcome.   • Microsoft T-SQL to Oracle PL/SQL translation

    I've worked with T-SQL for years but i've just moved to an organisation that is going to require writing some Oracle stuff, probably just simple CRUD operations at least until I find my feet. I'm not going to be migrating databases from one to the other simply interacting with existing Oracle databases from an Application Development perspective. Is there are tool or utility available to easily translate T-SQL into PL/SQL, a keyword mapper is the sort of thing I'm looking for. P.S. I'm too lazy to RTFM, besides it's not going to be a big part of my role so I just want something to get me up to speed a little faster.

  • WPF datagrid bind to previous row's cell

    Hi, I have a datagrid and one of the columns is going to be a checkbox column. To give the background, the checkbox is going to turn something on / off and each row in the datagrid is going to be for a differernt time (in time order, ascending). Is it possible for one row's checkbox to be bound to the state of the previous row? That way if somebody turns off at 10am it will continue to be turned off until such a time that it is turned on again. Hope that makes sense, any help would be great. Sure this sounds like something that should be do-able with databindings just not sure on the way to do it! Thanks.

    I'm trying to make a simple program that continually displays and updates a label that displays the CPU usage, while having other unrelated things going on. I've done enough research to know that threading is likely going to be involved. However, I'm having trouble applying what I've seen in simple examples of threading to what I'm trying to do.     I am trying to write a program that will verify that all cookies sent out from the machine are in fact going to the domain they came from. This is part of a larger security project to detect cookie based malicious attacks (such as XSS). The main snag for this project is actually detecting the out-going cookies. Can someone point me in the right direction for monitoring out-going HTTP traffic for cookie information?   • OpenGL: Textured Primitives + High Framerate

    Short version: What's the best practice going forward for efficiently rendering large numbers of independent texture-mapped, lighted 2D/3D primitives (circles, rects, etc.) in OpenGL? For example: a typical particle system using billboarded quads/triangles, point sprites, or whatever other technique, with blending. Because after reading this thread on the messiness of OpenGL versioning/deprecation I'm starting to have my doubts. My specific question is not the ABCs of displaying primitives in OpenGL, but rather how to do so efficiently in post-deprecation (or pre-deprecation) OpenGL, in a way that's going to be compatible with a wide range of commodity hardware and in a way that's not going to break or itself get deprecated, five years down the line.
