    I am trying to get the slides to link to other pages on the site.     Hi, I'm new to python, so please bare with me :) I was wondering if there's any built-in way in python to append variables to URL's regardless of it's structure. I would like to have a URL variable (test=1) added to an URL which could have any of the following structures http://www.aaa.com (would simply add "/?test=1") to the end http://www.aaa.com/home (like the one above, would simply add "/?test=1") to the end http://www.aaa.com/?location=home (would figure out there's already a ? being used, and would add &test=1 to the end) http://www.aaa.com/?location=home&page=1 (like the one above, would figure out there's already a ? being used, and would add &test=1 to the end) I'd be happy to write domething to do it myself, but if python can already do it somehow, I'd me more than happy to use any built-in functionality that would save me some time ;-) Thanks in advance

    Hi there, Having some trouble identifying what is wrong with my link to an external CSS stylesheet... I am using a debian box to host some things... including a file i am accessing page.py which is located in /var/www/cgi-bin. I need this page to link to a css file which currently has the pathname /var/www/styles.css. Now I know I could link as: <link rel="stylesheet" href="**../styles.css**" type="text/css"> and the problem is solved but I would rather have a 'global' link, that I can use in other py files elsewhere in my filesystem and they will all point to /var/www/styles.css The information I have searched suggests that <link rel="stylesheet" href="**/var/www/styles.css**" type="text/css"> should work fine... but it doesn't. I have tried multiple combinations of everything I know but it doesn't seem to link as I would expect. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    I am trying to create a glossary system which will get a list of common words and their definitions via ajax, then replace any occurrence of that word in certain elements (those with the useGlossary class) with a link to the full definition and provide a short definition on mouse hover. The way I am doing it works, but for large pages it takes 30-40 seconds, during which the page hangs. I would like to either decrease the time it takes to do the replacement or make it so that the replacement is running in the background without hanging the page. I am using jquery for most of the javascript, and Qtip for the mouse hover.     Intro I am working on an e-commerce website. And we want to add a feature where a user can refer others via a custom link e.g.: http://mysite.com/a1t2312 or http://mysite.com/?ref=a1t2312 (a1t231 being the referral code). A user following such a link, will navigate a few pages on the site. And if he reached the 'buy' page and purchases something - the original referrer will get a discount. The question is: What is the best method to track the referral code ? Put it in the user's cookies ? Stick it somehow into the session ? Other method ? Thanks

Which is strange since I have written "#000000" in all color fields. But if I remove the setTextColor code, gets the textView a light grey color, and when I press it, it becomes black. But that aren't the colors that I want. So, can anyone help me with this problem? Just to clarify: I want to be able to specify the colors for the text when it's normal, pressed and focused.

    I have a problem. I have made some image files for a menu. They work fine in Firefox, but IE (8, haven't tested with others) and Chrome show a broken image.. Image, on top. Even though the images work. The page is here: http://www.silkeborgmuseum.dk/udvikling/index.php This is a very old page of mine but I need to make it work. I have tried searching google and stackoverflow, but have not so far been able to find anyone else having this problem or what is causing it. Can anyone help? As a parting comment, I will say that I have only been developing websites for a few months, but wow, i already hate IE with a fiery passion.
