I'm lookingfora very comprehensive guide on how to setup a DHCP IP scope, fora phone and PC network on Microsoft Small Business Server 2008.
Any suggestions?
I used to use Getif for poking around inside SNMP results from servers and devices. However it no longer works with Windows 7 and 64bit.
I am lookingfor hopefully an OpenSource bit of software that will allow me add MIB's as required and allow me to browse the MIB tree and send a request/walk off to a server to get results.
What do you all use?
I'm lookingfora CPU/GPU temperature monitor with live logging that's also free. This question recommended some good software but doesn't meet my needs.
I tried HWMonitor and it works great except it doesn't have live logging. I need live logging because the system I'm using seems to overheat and shutdown (assuming it's related to overheating) and I'd like to catch the failing point.
I'm lookingfor an application to compare two postgreSql schemas. i like how Aquafold does the job, but i wonder if there are other good solutions out there preferable free tools.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
I'm lookingfora simple unmanaged switch with 4-8 GBit Ethernet ports and a fiber port (either as a GBIC slot or pre-installed with a 1000BASE-SX port).
Anything you can recommend?
I'm lookingfor any of these versions:JBuilder 3-9. The reason for this is because my computer is old (256 MB, 800 Mhz cpu) but I still like to program. (Yes, I should upgrade my computer but greenbacks don't grow on trees.)
And to prove that I really do program, I have an open source project where you play the trading card game Magic: The Gathering against the computer, http://code.google.com/p/cardforge The latest version was downloaded 1,862 times.
Thanks for your time, mtgrares

I'd like to display an RSS feed (updating dynamically of course) on my Windows 7 desktop. The posts I've read about Windows 7 RSS backgrounds are all about displaying various background images delivered via RSS. What I'm lookingfor would be similar to the Windows XP/95 Active Desktop feature which allowed for web pages to be presented on the desktop background.
I'm lookingfora good, free ticket management software that could be accessible from everywhere. The company is small (10 people) and the first goal is to have a database and to follow important incidents, even if someone is out of office. I tried OTRS, very nice but I suppose a bit complicated for some of our developers.
Thanks for your suggestions.
EDIT: I forgot to write that the platform is Windows for all users.
I want to make some pdf cheat sheet documents. I don't have much experience in design and publishing.
I wonder if there are any tools that can simplify producing cheat sheets with a standard but beautiful layout. It might be a template document or a generator software if there is some. For example, a good looking, open source, cheat sheet template written in Latex or some other desktop publishing software would be very useful.
Hi guys,
I'm lookingfora good editor for windows with built-in WebDAV support. I'm aware of Netdrive, Webdrive and Windows' built-in WebDAV client, but these don't work as well, because they need to emulate a true filesystem.
Has anyone came across this? I'm used to Coda on OS/X, so I'm hoping for something similar.
Hi!
Can you recommend good and secure looking glass scripts with traceroute, ping and bgp?
I want to install it to my website, and connect to Cisco routers.
I'm currently running MailEnable as my email server, it's ok but lacking. I'm lookingfora better alternative and am wondering about Open Source. I'm a huge fan of the Smarter Mail, and will pay if it's the best I can get... But I have been learning that there is some good stuff out there in the Open Source community (IE: I've started using PFSense and I love it).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
The interwebs seem to be infested with shortened urls (Twitter I'm looking at you). I'm always reluctant to click these as it is a leap into the unknown. Are there any browser plugins or Greasemonkey scripts that will auto-expand the shortened URL or give me a tooltip with the resolved target?
I've seen LongUrl.org, which has an API I could use to roll my own, but I'd like to avoid the effort if this is a solved problem.
I am lookingfora reliable personal VPN service so that I can access sites like Pandora or Hulu even when I am not physically in the US. I have been using StrongVPN but their service is not reliable. Here are some of my key requirements:
Fast
Reliable
I don't mind paying a reasonable fee
Unlimited traffic
I just need PPTP support
US IP addresses
No software installation needed
Supports Mac
Any recommendations? Thanks.
Hi,
I'm lookingfora shared library that is to be loaded using LD_PRELOAD that would modify the view of the filesystem to the client program.
Ideally, I'd like to choose the filesystem root (or use / as root) and to overlay the filesystem by renaming filenames.
For example, I might want to tell my program to look for /usr/lib/* in /usr/lib32/* instead.
Do you know of such a program ?
Thanks.

I have been looking about for one and wanted to see what places people would recommend, the main technology's I am planning on running on this is a LAMP setup preferably either running Debian or a LTS release of Ubuntu.
Currently I'm using Tomboy to write notes, including a TODO list. I'm lookinga real task application to hold my TODO list.
In gnome, there are tasque and tasks, but both need evolution-data-server. Is there any other task application that not have evolution prerequisite?
I'm using Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10
TIA
I work in an office and we have a server with a lot of music on it. I am lookingfor software that would allow anyone in the office to queue up songs to a playlist, sort of like an office radio station where people choose the songs. Are there any programs like this already written? I am considering writing software like this but I'm not sure if it already exists.
I've been told that you can use a camera to look on the monitor and see whether there are some waves on the screen; that would be a way to check if the monitor is good or not. Is this true ?
I'm looking at my monitor with a mobile phone camera and I see some vertical waves going (if there is a white background)
I'm lookingfora program that can:
1) index specific folders and capture video, music and picture files.
2) allow me to assign tags or categories to these files
3) allow me to search by tags or filenames
I have a large collection of movies, music, etc that I want to categorise and tag with multiple tags.
Haven't yet been able to find any applications that will do this for me.
I'm lookingfora windows program for cataloging my DVD, video files, ebook, etc...
The program must have some retrieval of information from the internet and from the files themselves.
Also, one MUST HAVE requirement is that if a file/ebook changes location, I need to be able to change it in the software. Even better if the program allows bulk updating...
Update
Order of preference is: open-source, freeware, shareware, commercial.
Dell computer with Windows 7 and Outlook 2003. I recently added a smart card reader to my computer for the National Guard so that I can access some military sites that require a smart card to log in. Now, every time Outlook attempts to download any mail from my civilian AT&T account (a pop e-mail server), I get a message asking me to "Insert a smart card". I've traced it to the send/receive feature (specifically receiving e-mails) but can find no reason that Outlook should be lookingfora smart card.
