    hi guys. How do I disable the save password prompt in web browsers whenever I'm submitting a form. I've seen a few bank sites where this doesn't come up. Are they doing it through JS or there any http headers or HTML meta tags available to achieve this? I'm trying to do this for a mobile application. Please pour your ideas.

    I was wondering how to save PHP variables to a txt file and then retrieve them again. Example: There is an input box, after submitted the stuff that was written in the input box will be saved to a text file. Later on the results need to be brought back as a variable.     Using Firebug to edit CSS, how do I save/export changes made to the CSS? TOOLS: Firefox, Firebug MAJOR UPDATE: If you know of a way to lock the forward/back/refresh on a FireFox tab, please let me know. Otherwise, I've given up on using FireBug/FireDiff as an IDE for CSS, it's nice, but lol... press backspace at the wrong time and ALL your work is gone... funny. So, really like the browser highlighting to CSS/HTML in Firebug. Know any good CSS editors that do this? Really had hope FireBug would work, but for now only see it as being good for ad-hoc inspection and test; meaning using it for what it's made for. UPDATES: @Lèse majesté: Just as an update, "Web Developer add-on" does let you edit CSS, but it does not let you edit/save CSS changes made by Firebug. Meaning you use Firebug to ID and maybe test changes, but it does not let you save the changes from Firebug. Here's a "how to" covering how to use them together: FF + FB + WD @Lèse majesté: Still playing around with FireDiff. It works okay, found one bug already (although I'm just working around it), and there's no "how to" I've been able to find, so I'm just trying every feature and clicking around... (for example, to export a diff you must be over the last item in the list, right click, and select as "Save Diff". The ".diff" is just a text file, no idea why at this point the ext is .diff.

  • Telerik RadEditor filestream/string save to RTF

    Hi, The required functionality I am aiming for is to pull out RTF content from a database, edit it through a web interface (with a WYSIWYG editor) and then place the modified text back in to the database (in RTF format). The control that I am using to do this is Telerik RadEditor (we have a license already for these controls). In the most recent version there appears to be functionality to load in RTF content from a string or a stream, but the only method I can see that is exposed for getting RTF back out is exportToRTF(); this method modified the headers and allows you to save a RTF version of the content you have just edited as a file. The functionality to convert from HTML to RTF must exist somewhere within their library as you can export a RTF file, but I can not find any publicly exposed methods to pass this in to a stream or a string. Does anybody know of a way that I can convert the HTML back to RTF using the Telerik libraries without saving out to a file? Thanks

    I am new to jxl, but I have what I think is a pretty simple requirement. I want to take an existing .xls file with three tabs, turn off the gridlines on all 3, and then save it again. It looks from the API like there is a function to handle gridlines setPrintGridLines(boolean b) I would love it if someone could give me sample code - or a link pointing me in the right direction - on how to do this.     One of the joys of working for a government healthcare agency is having to deal with all of the paranoia around dealing with PHI (Protected Health Information). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for doing everything possible to protect people's personal information (health, financial, surfing habits, etc.), but sometimes people get a little too jumpy. Case in point: One of our state customers recently found out that the browser provides the handy feature to save your password. We all know that it has been there for a while and is completely optional and is up to the end user to decide whether or not it is a smart decision to use or not. However, there is a bit of an uproar at the moment and we are being demanded to find a way to disable that functionality for our site. Question: Is there a way for a site to tell the browser not to offer to remember passwords? I've been around web development a long time but don't know that I have come across that before.     I am building a C# .NET (VS2010) IE8 add-on application but am having some trouble saving data using IsolatedStorage. No exceptions occur but, after writing the data, when I try to read the contents back it is blank, and I can find no evidence that it actually saved.   • How to let the user choose between typing price inclusive VAT or exclusive VAT in TextField?

    I am implementing an back-office application where the user type in prices for products. Sometimes it is preferred to type the price inclusive value-added-tax, VAT and sometimes exclusive VAT. How do I best let the user choose between the inclusive or exclusive VAT in a usability perspective? I could have two TextFields above eachother one inclusive VAT and one exclusive, and reflect the input. But I don't think that reflecting the input in another TextField at realtime is good when it comes to usability, it distracts the user. I could also have two Radiobuttons above the TextField or below, or maybe besides the TextField that let the user make the choice. Or should I have a single button for turning between inclusive/exclusive VAT? like On/Off-buttons. But what text should I have on the button and how should the button be designed? I think this is good because it takes less space and it is easy to have it close to the TextField, but it's very hard to design a good button in a usability perspective. Please give me some recommendations. Maybe someone of you works with usability or have seen a similar problem.

    I am running a c# unit test (VS 2008). Within the test I do write to the settings, which should result in saving the data to the user.config. Settings.Default.X = "History"; // X is string Settings.Default.Save(); But this simply does not create the file (I have crosschecked under "C:\Documents and Settings\HW\Local Settings\Application Data"). If I create the same stuff as a Console application, there is no problem persisting the data (same code). Is there something special I need to consider doing this in a UnitTest?

    I write custom jabber client in iphone. I use xmppframework as engine. And I have UITableViewController with NSMutableArray for repesent contact list. When i receive(or somebody change it contents) roster (aka contact list) i wanna change UITableView items (add/remove/modify). So if User work with listView at time when list updates by [items addObject:newItem]; [self.tableView reloadData]; user lost current selection item. So, my question is howto save (if possible, i mean if given selected item not removed) current select item after reloadData? Thx.

There is the method extFilter = FileNameExtensionFilter(description, extensions); that I can then use by writing fileChooser.setFileFilter(extFilter); however, as you can see, this only supports one option in the drop-down list. How do I add more?

    Hi I'm using Interop to create a "custom word editor", basically I've incorporated MS Word on my application and I allow users to edit a document and insert custom fields from a predefined list. I provide a "Preview" option to see how the document will appear when the data is added. The users can start editing a template on my application, and at any time they can hit preview and the preview should appear with the latest changes. I want the user to be able to preview the document without saving the changes, the problem is that when I invoke SaveAs() on the document (to create a temp file that I can use as the input for the preview generator), the editor opens the temp document. Is there a way to save a copy of the document being edited but keep the original (open) document with its changes unsaved? Thanks a lot

    Hey guys. I am wondering what the best ways to save enums into a database is. I know there are name() and valueOf() methods to make it into a String back. But are there any other (flexible) options to store these values? Is there a smart way to make them into unique numbers (ordinal() is not safe to use)? Any comments and suggestions would be helpful :) Update: Thanks for all awesome and fast answers! It was as I suspected. However a note to 'toolkit'; That is one way. The problem is that I would have to add the same methods with each enum type i create. Thats a lot of duplicated code and, at the moment, Java does not support any solutions to this (You cannot let enum extend other classes). However, thanks for all answers!
