  • Django/Python: Save an HTML table to Excel

    I have an HTML table that I'd like to be able to export to an Excel file. I already have an option to export the table into an IQY file, but I'd prefer something that didn't allow the user to refresh the data via Excel. I just want a feature that takes a snapshot of the table at the time the user clicks the link/button. I'd prefer it if the feature was a link/button on the HTML page that allows the user to save the query results displayed in the table. Is there a way to do this at all? Or, something I can modify with the IQY? I can try to provide more details if needed. Thanks in advance.

    In a managed bean you have fields, and the fields have getters and setters. But I also need to save values back to, in this case, a Notes profile document. So I have a loadProfileDocument and a saveProfileDocument method. I was thinking of using the bean in the application scope. How do I make sure the profile document is saved? Do I have to call the saveProfileDocument from the setter? Do I call the saveProfileDocument() explisitly? Could I use a destructor (finalize)? Or what...???...

I can play it without any problem using playMovie(), but I can't figure out how to have it saved physically on disk.     I am in the midst of changing my JPA code around to make use of threads. I have a separate entity manager and transaction for each thread. What I used to have (for the single threaded environment) was code like: // get object from the entity manager X x = getObjectX(jpaQuery); if(x == null) { x = new X(); x.setVariable(foo); entityManager.persist(x); } With that code in the multi threaded environment I am getting duplicate keys since, I assume, getObjectX returns null for a thread, then that thread is swapped out, the next thread calls getObjextX, also getting null, and then both threads will create and persist a new X(). Short of adding in synchronization, is there an atomic way to get/save-if-doesn't-exist a value with JPA or should I rethink my approach EDIT: I am using the latest Eclipselink and MySql 5.1

  • Android: Prompt user to save changes when Back button is pressed

    I have an activity that contains several user editable items (an EditText field, RatingBar, etc). I'd like to prompt the user if the back/home button is pressed and changes have been made that have not yet been saved. After reading through the android documentation, it seems like this piece of code should go in the onPause method. I've tried putting an AlertDialog in the onPause however the dialog gets shown and then immediately tears down because nothing is there to block the pause from completing.     I have some code calling a webservice and it returns an id. I am saving this id in the database using hibernate. I have a filter that opens the session and commits it, rolling back when any exception occurs within the contained code. Since there is no way to get back the id returned by the webservice I would like to save this in the database EVEN if there is an exception that occurred later on in the code. Is there anyway to do this using the same session?
