  • How to simulate a mouse click on a UIWebView in Cocoa for the iPhone?

    - by eagle
I'm trying to setup automated unit tests for an iPhone application. I'm using a UIWebView and need to simulate clicks on different links. I've tried doing this with JavaScript, but it doesn't produce the same result as when I manually click on the links. The main problem is with links that have their target property set. I believe the only way for this automated unit test to work correctly is to simulate a mouse click at a specific x/y coordinate (i.e. where the link is located). Since the unit testing will only be used internally, private API calls are fine. It seems like this should be possible since the iPhone app isimulate seems to do something similar. Is there any way to do this in the framework?

  • WPF: Is ListBox or Panel responsible for mouse wheel navigation?

    - by HDW
I have a custom ListBox which uses a custom Panel as ItemsHost. I want to have control over mouse wheel input, so that turning the wheel changes the single selected item. I believe that the best method to do so is to handle the OnPreviewMouseWheel event (although this is only have what I want since it doesn't provide horizontal wheel data). Now the big question: Is there a best practice where to handle OnPreviewMouseWheel? In ListBox (which by default doesn't have a clue about the arrangement of the Panel's child elements) or in Panel (which by default doesn't have a clue about the "IsSelected" property of it's child elements)?

  • Can't Move Windows to 2nd Monitor without Left Mouse and Cntl Key

    - by John C
I have 2 very frustrating problems that maybe someone can help me with: I have 2 monitors (different sizes and resolutions) setup with the "Extended" monitor Win7 setup. My problem is this = I can not "move" a window from my Primary Monitor (larger and higher resolution on right side in front of me) to my Secondary 2nd monitor (smaller and lower resolution) with just selecting the title bar with the left mouse button and dragging it to the left. Windows 7 "snaps" it back to the left Primary Monitor when the window is physically in the 2nd window area as I'm holding the left mouse button. I can prevent this problem - by holding down the Cntl Key with the Left Mouse button, but this is extremely annoying to me. Also I typically "lose" focus if I try typing input on the 2nd monitor. Typing is erratic with regard to keystroke accuracy from my keyboard translated into input on the 2nd screen. No problem with typing input on the primary left monitor. I find this extremely annoying in Windows 7 and turning off the "snap" feature via the Control panel does NOT work for me. Win7 stubbornly refuses to move my selected window to my 2nd monitor without me "forcing" Win7 to do this with the Cntrl Key. Please tell me this is not a Win7 feature. Also on my system - Windows Key + Shift, Left arrow Key (pressed together) or the same combo with The Right arrow Key - don't do anything whatsoever. Widows Key with "+" however does maximize current window across both monitors, and I can "restore" it with Windows Key and "-" back to original monitor and size. I have tried various solutions including changing the resolutions of one or both of my monitors and sometimes "temporarily helps" but reverts back to the problem. Also if I swap the logical (not physical) layout so that I tell Win7 the monitors are setup in a reserved situation (Large monitor on the left, and small on the right) - this also sometimes helps for awhile - and is very strange and awkward to work with "backwards". But all of these solutions stop working. The only solution that consistently works for "moving" the screens is to hold the Cntrl Key down as I'm moving window with the left mouse selected on the title bar. Even that however, doesn't prevent the loss of typing focus for me on the 2nd monitor - while at the same time the typing on the 1st monitor is fine. Any help on moving my window screens from one monitor on my 2nd monitor without having to press the Cntrl key while holding down my left mouse button with be appreciated. Also any help on gaining typing "focus" into my 2nd screen with be helpful too. Thanks - John

  • Is there a more efficient way to do this?

    - by garethdn
    I'm hoping there is a better way to the following. I'm creating a jigsaw-type application and this is the current code i'm using: -(void) touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; //location of current touch CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:self.view]; if ([touch view] == img1) { [self animateFirstTouch:img1 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == img2) { [self animateFirstTouch:img2 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == img3) { [self animateFirstTouch:img3 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == img4) { [self animateFirstTouch:img4 withLocation:location]; } else if { ...... ...... } else if ([touch view] == img40) { [self animateFirstTouch:img40 withLocation:location]; return; } } I'm hoping that there is a better, more efficieny way to do this, rather than naming every image. I'm thinking something like, if touch view is equal to a UIImageView, then perform some task. The same for touchesEnded: -(void) touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; //location of current touch CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:self.view]; if ([touch view] == image1) { [self animateReleaseTouch:image1 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == image2) { [self animateReleaseTouch:image2 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == image3) { [self animateReleaseTouch:image3 withLocation:location]; } else if ([touch view] == image4) { [self animateReleaseTouch:image4 withLocation:location]; } else if{ ...... ...... } else if ([touch view] == image40) { [self animateReleaseTouch:image40 withLocation:location]; } return; } Any help please?

  • Unable to Use Bluetooth Mighty Mouse or Wireless Keyboard with Boot Camp

    - by Kristopher Johnson
I have Windows 7 64-bit running on a MacBook Pro in a Boot Camp partition. I am trying to pair with my Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Apple wireless keyboard under Windows, but whenever I try to do so, here's what happens: While on the Add a device window, I turn on the mouse or press a key on the keyboard, and the mouse or keyboard shows up in the list of available devices. I click the device and then the Next button, and the window displays Connecting to device... Time passes. Eventually, I get this error message: Adding this device to this computer failed Adding the device failed resulting in an unknown error. The reported error code is 0x80070015. Contact your device manufacturer for assistance. I've run Windows Update and Apple Software Update. I've also tried reinstalling the drivers from the Snow Leopard DVD. The mouse and keyboard both work fine when I boot into Mac OS X. FWIW, after many, many repeated tries, I eventually got it to work. I don't know why. So while my problem is solved, I'd still like to get an "answer" as to why trial-and-error seems to be the only approach. The keyboard, in particular, was hard to get set up. A few times, Windows would apparently recognize it and prompt me to enter the pairing code, but then it would time out after a couple of seconds (not long enough to enter the code). Grrrr.

  • Configuring Touchpad Multi-Tap on Ubuntu 11.10

    - by nunos
I am having a hard time configuring my notebook's touchpad. I can do everything I can in Windows with the exception of three-finger tap, which doesn't work, and the action of two-finger tap which is giving me the equivalent to a right-mouse click, when I wanted a middle-mouse click. I read on a forum to use this as a guide. The problem is that I can't even find the configuration file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-synaptics.conf. I tried running pacman -S xf86-input-synaptics but I don't have the pacman program installed. When I try to install it by sudo apt-get install I get a pacman game instead! I know the guide is for archlinux, so maybe that's why it doesn't work with me. I am running Ubuntu 11.10 on an Asus N82JV. Any help on this is appreciated. • When using sudo, I get 'premission denied'

    - by JacobusR
When using sudo to allow edits to files, I regularly get 'permission denied'. For example, my mouse is jittery and sluggish, so I want to disable polling: sudo echo "options drm_kms_helper poll=N">/etc/modprobe.d/local.conf I'm prompted for a password, and then get: bash: /etc/modprobe.d/local.conf: Permission denied So I tried to do a temporary change to disable polling by using: sudo echo N> /sys/module/drm_kms_helper/parameters/poll Yet again the system responded with: bash: /sys/module/drm_kms_helper/parameters/poll: Permission denied Any ideas?

  • Are all bluetooth adapters the same ?

    - by ldigas
I have a wireless bluetooth mouse which I'm not using. It used to have a bluetooth adapter with it, which I lost a long time ago ... (don't ask). Since my regular mouse just died (bad contact in cable from messing with it too much) I was thinking of buying just the new generic bluetooth adapter ? Are all those adapters the same thing ? Or can this that came with the mouse be somehow different ? Edit by ldigas: How would one find out what bluetooth standard/class/adapter one needs ? (I don't see anything useful written on the sticker on the mouse). Or to put it bluntly - will it work with this one in your opinion ?

  • Apple MagicMouse randomly loses connection

    - by Yuval
My Magic Mouse periodically randomly loses connection to my macbook, sitting approximately a foot and a half away from it. There are no software updates available for Snow Leopard (10.6.3). I have a bluetooth keyboard (that sits a little closer to the macbook, though I'm not sure this is the issue) that rarely suffers from this problem. Google results mostly suggest to update the software but I have the most updated version of it already. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing the issue? Is this simply a defective mouse? Additional info: I tried replacing the batteries with new ones, making sure they are sitting tightly in their position with no change in behavior (still disconnects periodically). Also, this doesn't seem to be a problem that the mouse is turning itself off to save battery - it does not reconnect when I move or click it. If I wait long enough (a couple of minutes) it reconnects on its own. Otherwise I have to go to the bluetooth menu with my macbook touchpad and choose "yuval's mouse - Connect"

  • Multi-monitors and the corners of the screen

    - by Neil Barnwell
I currently have two monitors (let's call them "left" and "middle" - you'll see why in a sec), and would love three (let's call it "right"). However, I often will throw the mouse-cursor up to the top-right corner on "middle" because for a maximised window that's where the close button will be. If I add the "right" monitor, the mouse cursor will just carry on off "middle" into "right", and aiming for the close button on "middle" will become more difficult. I'm currently using UltraMon 3.10, but does anyone know of a way to get the mouse to stick to the corners, so that it doesn't go off into the other monitor (Synergy allows this by configuring the "gap" where the mouse is allowed to travel from monitor to monitor).

  • Issue with mouse move event

    - by Vinjamuri
I have a WPF control1 (has a moving control) that is hosted through elementhost on a windows form. My aim is to capture the mouse move events for the elementhost. I found out from the following link that MouseMove fires when Control moves under mouse while mouse stands still. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/56e7b331-ac6f-4d62-a83b-c09009b79fa0 I am getting fake mouse move events for elementhost. In order to fix this issue, I added a button on top of elementhost and set its Visible property to Hidden. Still I get fake mouse move events.. How to fix this issue? Is there any workaround? Appreciate your help...

  • Multiple Context menus in PyQt based on mouse location

    - by Nader
I have a window with multiple tables using QTableWidget (PyQt). I created a popup menu using the right click mouse and it works fine. However, I need to create different popup menu based on which table the mouse is hovering over at the time the right mouse is clicked. How can I get the mouse to tell me which table it is hovering over? or, put in another way, how to implement a method so as to have a specific context menu based on mouse location? I am using Python and PyQt. My popup menu is developed similar to this code (PedroMorgan answer from Qt and context menu): class Foo( QtGui.QWidget ): def __init__(self): QtGui.QWidget.__init__(self, None) # Toolbar toolbar = QtGui.QToolBar() # Actions self.actionAdd = toolbar.addAction("New", self.on_action_add) self.actionEdit = toolbar.addAction("Edit", self.on_action_edit) self.actionDelete = toolbar.addAction("Delete", self.on_action_delete) # Tree self.tree = QtGui.QTreeView() self.tree.setContextMenuPolicy( Qt.CustomContextMenu ) self.connect(self.tree, QtCore.SIGNAL('customContextMenuRequested(const QPoint&)'), self.on_context_menu) # Popup Menu self.popMenu = QtGui.QMenu( self ) self.popMenu.addAction( self.actionEdit ) self.popMenu.addAction( self.actionDelete ) self.popMenu.addSeparator() self.popMenu.addAction( self.actionAdd ) def on_context_menu(self, point): self.popMenu.exec_( self.tree.mapToGlobal(point) )

  • Gesture recognizer for mouse down and up in iPhone SDK

    - by user545201
I want to catch both mouse down and mouse up using gesture recognizer. However, when the mouse down is caught, mouse up is never caught. Here's what I did: First create a custom MouseGestureRecognizer: @implementation MouseGestureRecognizer -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { [super touchesBegan:touches withEvent:event]; self.state = UIGestureRecognizerStateRecognized; } -(void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { [super touchesEnded:touches withEvent:event]; self.state = UIGestureRecognizerStateRecognized; } @end Then bind the recognizer to a view in view controller: UIGestureRecognizer *recognizer = [MouseGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleGesture:)]; [self.view addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; When I click mouse in the view, the touchesBegan is called, but touchesEnded is never called. Is it because of the UIGestureRecognizerStateRecognized? Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks!

  • record mouse movements, clicks and keyboard input with Java or C++

    - by Joe
I want to be able to record mouse movements, clicks and keyboard input from a user. It would be great if it was a cross platform solution. I'd like to get back something like this (pseudo code): mouse moved to 500, 500 mouse double clicked mouse moved to 800, 300 mouse left clicked keyboard typed "Hello World" Does either C++ or Java have any classes that can do this? If I was using C++, I would probably working with the QT framework. Edit: I should have said this originally, but I want to record the movements and clicks outside of the applications gui, so on the desktop too.

  • How to implement smooth flocking

    - by Craig
    I'm working on a simple survival game, avoid the big guy and chase the the small guys to stay alive for as long as possible. I have taken the chase and evade example from MSDN create and drawn 20 mice on the screen. I want the small guys to flock when they arent evading. They are doing this, but it isnt as smooth as I would like it to be. How do i make the movement smoother? Its very jittery.# Below is what I have going at the moment, flocking code is within the IF statement, when it isnt set to evading. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :) namespace ChaseAndEvade { class MouseSprite { public enum MouseAiState { // evading the cat Evading, // the mouse can't see the "cat", and it's wandering around. First, we construct a "heading" vector from the orientation // angle. To do this, we'll use Cosine and Sine to tell us the x and y // components of the heading vector. See the accompanying doc for more // information. Vector2 heading = new Vector2( (float)Math.Cos(mouseOrientation), (float)Math.Sin(mouseOrientation)); // by multiplying the heading and speed, we can get a velocity vector. the // velocity vector is then added to the mouse's current position, moving him // forward. mousePosition += heading * currentMouseSpeed; } } }

  • Get hard drive to spin up upon mouse movement

    - by John
My storage drive which does not contain the OS stops spinning after a few minutes. This is annoying and totally defeats the purpose of having a fast access drive. The drive will NOT spin up when I use the mouse! It only spins up when accessed. However, I don't want it to spin all the time. I would like it to spin up anytime there is mouse activity so it is at the ready when I am using the computer, but go to sleep during inactivity. Can anyone think of a trick to get a secondary drive to spin up on a mouse movement?

  • Configure Mouse Buttons for "Administrator"/Elevated privileges

    - by Zhaph - Ben Duguid
I am, for better or worse, an administrator on my Windows 7 machine. However, even then, I still need to run certain programs "as Administrator" - for example, Visual Studio 2008 when working with local IIS sites. I also like to have the extra buttons on my IntelliMouse Optical doing non-standard things, like representing Ctrl and Shift. However, when in VS running as administrator, these settings aren't picked up, just like my mapped drives aren't picked up - I would understand this if I was logging in as a different user, supplying credentials, etc, but I'm not, I'm just pressing "Yes" at the UAC prompt. Normally, I'd just right click the item in the start menu and select "Run as administrator", but that's not an option on the context menu for either the Microsoft IntelliPoint Mouse application that appears under "Programs", nor the "Mouse" control panel item. Running the control panel as administrator also doesn't seem to help. So has any one got any suggestions on how I can configure my mouse buttons for the elevated version of me that Visual Studio is running as?

  • Bluetooth not seeing mouse (Fedora)

    - by Chris

So far pretty much everything works great, except, the on-board Bluetooth. lsusb shows the controller present (0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller), hcitool dev shows hci0 present, but when I put my mouse ("Lenovo Bluetooth Laser Mouse," which works perfectly paired with a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and Lenovo SL500 (with a USB dongle; running Windows 7)) into pairing mode and run hcitool scan (reports "Scanning ..." and, without further information or error message, returns to the shell prompt), blueman-manager, or bluetooth-wizard (from the gnome-bluetooth package) and try to detect the mouse, I get nothing... Frustrating! Thanks anyone who can point me in the right direction!

I don't need to share keyboard since each has one. Is there any way to share mouse only? Since if keyboard sharing enable might cause inconvenience. Thanks. PS. Another quick question is how to stop synergy daemon on Mac OS? synergys --help doesn't give any information.

  • Vim and mouse with ssh from Mac to Linux

    - by Jonatan Littke
Hey. I certainly know it's possible to make the mouse work in Vim on a remote session to a Linux machine from my Mac, but I haven't figured out just how. Daily vim gives a tip on making it work but if I try to set 'mac-ansi', for example, I get an error saying I can only specify values beginning with builtin_ (riscos, beos-ansi, etc). I've tried using ssh -X, combined with set mouse=a and set term=builtin_anso for example, but with no success with or without combining them. I'm using Snow Leopard and attempting to use the mouse on a Debian machine with vim 7.1.314. I've had a look at the documentation but can't make it work. Any tips?

  • Simulating mouse clicks at specific screen coordinates

    - by Matteo Riva
I would like to be able to bind some keys to mouse clicks done in specific locations. For example: when I press F1 I should get a left mouse click at coordinates 300x350, F2 at 600x350 and so on. Even better if this could be bound to a specific window application so that coordinates could be relative to it instead of the base desktop. Is there a software which allows this? ADDITION: Ok autohotkey is great but I have problems with my particular setup. Quoting my comment below: I'm using it with an old game (championship manager 01/02) which runs in windowed mode (and I have to set win98 compatibility for it to run): I can get the mouse to move but no click goes to the application I have read this FAQ but it didn't help, this is the script I tried: SendMode Play SetKeyDelay, 0, 50, Play F1::Click 42, 191 F2::ControlSend ahk_class main, Click, Championship Manager 01/02 Still no luck: pointer moves but no click goes through.
