    How are lists in python stored internally? Is it an array? A linked list? Something else? Or does the interpreter guess at the right structure for each instance based on length, etc. If the question is implementation dependent, what about the classic CPython?

    There are 2 Models: Project & Category that are bind with HABTM relationship. I would like to perform a search from projects controller that can do the following: FIND all DISTINCT Project.scedule WHERE Category.slug != 'uncategorised' Apologies for the syntax, I'm no sequel expert. What I have managed to do is to retrieve all projects that do not belong to Category uncategorised into an array however I'm not sure as to how to search again the array result for DISTINCT Project.schedule values (needed to fill out a form drop down) I hope I made myself clear.

  • Cannot perform an ORDERBY against my EF4 data

    I have a query hitting EF4 using STEs and I'm having an issue with user-defined sorting. In debugging this, I have removed the dynamic sorting and am hard-coding it and I still have the issue. If I swap/uncomment the var results = xxx lines in GetMyBusinesses(), my results are not sorted any differently - they are always sorting it ascendingly.     I was given the daunting task of converting a ASP website to PHP and SQL Server to MySQL, and I ran into an issue that hopefully somebody can help I have a user table which has a password field with datatype Varbinary(128), are using pwdencrypt to encrypt the password. Is there a way to transfer that over to MySQL, and somehow i need to be able to keep the password intact... how can i go about that? any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

  • Wrong data retrieved from database

    So, I want to retrieve the order of the elements of a list. The order is set before by the user, and are stored in the table below. Because I also want to retrieve name and description of the list elements I need to combine two tables (see below). However, what is actually retrieved is an array containing 16 elements (should be four because it only exists four elements as for now). The array is too long to post here, but I put it in a phpFiddle to be found here if you're interested.   • Free service that allows storing game data online?

    I have created a small game in Java and I would like to add the ability for a player to publish his highscores online. I'm willing to write the server software myself (it's easy these days with Ruby Mongrel, or even C++). All I just need to have some sort hosting. One solution that immediately comes to mind is Amazon EC2. But that's kind of expensive for my needs. Since the requirements are very minimal (I don't even need a website, just a web service) I think there may be a cheaper solution out there. Does anyone know of a free or cheap provider for this kind of thing?

    Is there a good open source or reasonably priced EER modeling tool for MySQL besides MySQL Workbench? I find the MySQL Workbench interface to be clunky. I would like to be able to manage my production schema beginning all design changes in the EER and propogating those out to my schema for created and altered tables.     Using a three-tier architecture, I have a list of objects List<object> careerList = new List<object>(); ModuleDTO module = new ModuleDTO(); careerList = module.getDegreeCodeByQualification(qualificationCode); which I then add to a gridview like so: gridViewMaster.DataSource = careerList; gridViewMaster.DataBind(); What I'd like to do is then enable paging on the gridview.     I am attempting to use the answer in post: How do you sort an EntitySet<T> to expose an interface so that I can sort an EntitySet with a Binding list. I have created the class below and I get the following compiler error: "The type or namespace 'P' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or assembly reference?). Can someone tell me what the P means and which namespace I need to include to get the method below to compile? I am very new to delegates and lamba expressions. Also, can someone confirm that if I create a BindingList from my EntitySet that any modifications I make to the BindingList will be made to the EntitySet? Basically, I have an EntitySet that I need to sort and make changes to.
