• VPN between Cisco ASA 5505 AND Sonicwall SOHO3

  Hello. I am trying to establish a site-to-site VPN tunnel between an old SOHO3 and an ASA 5505. The ASA has a static IP and the SOHO3 is dynamic. I have tried everything my limited knowledge lets me and need some advice on how to proceed! Phase 1 (according to the ASA logs) completes - followed by a message saying "All IPSec SA proposals found unacceptable!" so I guess the settings between the two don't match. I have played with various combinations and nothing seems to work - I am overlooking something, just not sure what it is! Any help would be appreciated.

• Installing Image_Graph and using with BASE

  Hello all, I have Windows 7 with the latest XAMPP installation. I configured BASE to work, for the most part. My problem is that in BASE, when I click on the graph alerts button, I get this error: Error loading the Graphing library: Check your Pear::Image_Graph installation! * Image_Graph can be found here:at http://pear.veggerby.dk/. • Cannot connect to domain despite successful pings

  Pings to my domain name work, but I can't connect via http. I've been trying various methods for a week now, but haven't come up with anything that worked. • What protocols will/are ISPs use for IPv6 deployment?

  Currently ISPs deal out addresses via DHCP for IPv4 dynamic (single) addresses. What protocol will/are ISPs going to use for IPv6 when they can hand a customer an entire /64 (or /48 if they are nice) block? DHCPv6, RA? For ISPs that support true end-to-end IPv6 will they provide gateway devices (similar to cable modem or true DSL bridges for example) that receive border information for that specific customer? I'm just trying to get an idea of how your common residential service customer will have to configure things in an IPv6 Internet (whenever that comes). Will it be something customers are expected to statically configure on their home wireless router? Today with IPv4 I do it like this: Modem (bridge) passes public IPv4 obtained via DHCPv4 from ISP to second device (wireless router). It in turn has its own DHCPv4 service it provides on the internal lan.

  I am dual booting for legacy reasons, and I have a 2nd internal drive that I would like to use from both XP and 7. Should I go with the standard NTFS? (will the secuirty features be an issue, with different SIDs from the different users) Should I go with FAT32? Should I try out the new exFAT? Also, I curently have two of my 3 drives as "dynamic disks" and 1 spaned volume created on them. (i did this from XP) Win7 can see them/it fine. Is this an ok thing to do?

• Should I be worried if I don't get any internships by 3rd year's end?

  I am in some mediocre college in some corner of India. Am about to complete 3rd year C.S. in a month and a half. I have no idea how to go about "finding an internship" as everyone seems to put it. Looking at online advice, I find that a primary way is to "use your contacts". I am sad to say that I don't have many friends(those I have, I am trying to get help from them for all it's worth), and my family can't help me as they have no idea about the software industry. My college has no official facility for aiding students in this, and the few faculty members who had contacts in "whatever" part of the industry have favoured some students that they have personally come to know. (Though I hear that the "internships" they got involve them stocking equipment in some small companies.... still it's something?) I'm getting nervous. I am considering just spending the coming summer refining my skills in C++ and begin learning MySQL and C#, both of which I have zero experience in. Maybe work on my own project... like a library management system. Relative to those in my college, I think I am among the best programmers there, but that isn't saying much as a lot of students can barely write basic code. I have experience in teaching myself C++, and DirectX9 having created a Tetris clone, some basic 3D apps (bouncing balls), and a basic console-based, text-file-database-using library management system (which I plan to improve this summer). Is it alright if I spend my summer so? Will I be able to get a job later on? I know I have to improve my social skills to get anywhere in life, and I will try, but say I am stuck like this till 4th year's end... will such self studying, online learning help me in landing a decent job? Perhaps after I have learned a bit more, joining some open source project?

  I'm developing a website using the Seam framework and the RichFaces AJAX library (these isn't really all that important to the problem at hand - just some background). I seem to have uncovered a bug, however, in RichFaces which, in certain instances, will cause AJAX-based updating to fail in IE8 (see here for more info: http://community.jboss.org/message/585737). • How can I work out if a date is on or before today?

  My web application consists of library type system where books have due dates. I have the current date displayed on my page, simply by using this: date_default_timezone_set('Europe/London'); $date = date; print $date("d/m/Y"); I have set 'date' as a variable because I'm not sure if it makes a difference when I use it in the IF statement you're about see, on my library books page. On this page, I am simply outputting the due dates of the books, many have dates which have not yet reached todays date, and others which have dates greater than todays date. Basically, all I want is the due date to appear bold (or strong), if it has passed todays date (the system displayed date). This is what I have and thought would work: <? if ($duedate < $date) { echo '<td><strong>'; } else { echo '<td>'; } ?> <?php echo $date('d/m/Y', $timestamp);?></strong></td> I have declared $timestamp as a var which converts the date of default MySQL format to a UK version. • What CSS do I need to make my site more responsive?

  My site is: http://library.skybundle.com I feel like I almost have a responsive site. I did all the CSS styling myself. It is a Wordpress site but I completely edited the CSS of the original theme, so it is night-and-day different than it used to be. The original theme was mostly just for a canvas for me to work with, since I am not an expert in PHP and we wanted a Wordpress site for easy editing later on. Thanks to stackoverflow, I now have a footer that sticks to the bottom of every page and everything mostly looks good -- the way we want it anyway. The only thing missing now is the we want browser windows on MOBILE devices, such as on an iPhone, to automatically adjust the layout of the content in the body (wrapper). For example, on the main page (library.skybundle.com), I would like those two big icons two become vertically aligned as soon as the browser window sizes to a small, mostly vertical size, like that of a mobile phone. Take this site, for example: http://freedomsoundproductions.securesb.net/ This is what we would like it to do. So one a page with a sidebar, the content to the right of the sidebar should basically jump into the same "column" as the left sidebar and form one single long column. Just like in the example site above. This should all be possible via CSS. People in other forums seem to want me to use jQuery and stuff, but I can only use CSS, and I know that this must be possible without having to resort to jQuery, HTML, or other code.

• Is there a Java data structure that is effectively an ArrayList with double indicies and built-in in

  I am looking for a pre-built Java data structure with the following characteristics: It should look something like an ArrayList but should allow indexing via double-precision rather than integers. Note that this means that it's likely that you'll see indicies that don't line up with the original data points (i.e., asking for the value that corresponds to key "1.5"). As a consequence, the value returned will likely be interpolated. For example, if the key is 1.5, the value returned could be the average of the value at key 1.0 and the value at key 2.0. The keys will be sorted but the values are not ensured to be monotonically increasing. In fact, there's no assurance that the first derivative of the values will be continuous (making it a poor fit for certain types of splines). Freely available code only, please. For clarity, I know how to write such a thing. In fact, we already have an implementation of this and some related data structures in legacy code that I want to replace due to some performance and coding issues. What I'm trying to avoid is spending a lot of time rolling my own solution when there might already be such a thing in the JDK, Apache Commons or another standard library. Frankly, that's exactly the approach that got this legacy code into the situation that it's in right now.... Is there such a thing out there in a freely available library?

  In a *.cpp file, trying to use a third party lib: #define DLL_IMPORT #include <thirdParty.h> // Third party header has code like: // #ifdef DLL_IMPORT // #define DLL_DECL __declspec(dllimport) // fatal error C1001: An internal error has occurred in the compiler. Alternative: #define NO_DLL #include <thirdParty.h> // Third party header has code like: // #elif defined(NO_DLL) // #define DLL_DECL // Compiles fine, but linker errors as can't find DLL functions // I can reproduce results by remove macros and #define all together and manually editing the third party files to have __declspec(dllimport) or not Has anyone come across anything similar, or can hint at the cause? (which is created using CMake). Above is actual example of 2 line *.cpp that crashes so it's narrowed down to something in the #include. The following also work fine: Compile the examples provided by the third party (they provide a *.sln) that use dllimport/export so it doesn't appear to be the fault of the library Compile the third party lib as part of the production project (so dllexport works fine) I've trawled the project settings pages of the two projects to try and spot differences, but have come up blank. Of course, it's possible I'm missing something as those settings pages are not the easiest to navigate. I'll get access to VS2008 in a day or so, so can compare with that. The third party library is MySql++.

• Updating Cells in a DataTable

  I'm writing a small app to do a little processing on some cells in a CSV file I have. I've figured out how to read and write CSV files with a library I found online, but I'm having trouble: the library parses CSV files into a DataTable, but, when I try to change a cell of the table, it isn't saving the change in the table! Below is the code in question. I've separated the process into multiple variables and renamed some of the things to make it easier to debug for this question. Code Inside the loop: string debug1 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo].ToString(); string debug2 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo].ToString().Trim(); string debug3 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyFrom].ToString().Trim(); string towrite = debug2 + ", " + debug3; readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo] = (object)towrite; After the loop: readIn.AcceptChanges(); When I debug my code, I see that towrite is being formed correctly and everything's OK, except that the row isn't updated: why isn't it working? I have a feeling that I'm making a simple mistake here: the last time I worked with DataTables (quite a long time ago), I had similar problems. If you're wondering why I'm adding another comma in towrite, it's because I'm combining a street address field with a zip code field - I hope that's not messing anything up. My code is kind of messy, as I'm only trying to edit one file to make a small fix, so sorry.

• Adding UIView on top of all views dynamically during runtime?

  Team, I am trying to bring a menu in top of all visible views during runtime. This menu should be easily addable and removable dynamically in certain conditions. To do this, I have tried adding a button view to the UIWindow as a subview during runtime. • Why Virtualbox VDI doubles the space of the VM hard disk?

  I have one Xubuntu 12.10 64 bit Virtualbox VM on a Windows 7 64 bit host. It has one dynamic allocated hard disk with VDI format with maximum capacity of 20GB. If I use a command df -h in the VM I get that 5.3GB are in use in th main partition. I have only 2 partitions, one for the ext4 hard disk and another with 512MB of swap. I have no snapshots. The VDI file of this VM has 10.7GB. It is normal this difference of space? It is caused because the VDI format?

• Windows XP clients do not update server 2008 DNS forward lookup zone.

  I have a Cisco 5505 working as a DHCP server, and a server 2008 DNS server running an AD domain. I am having problems with all XP computers not updating the forward lookup zone. The reverse lookup zone updates are working. Windows vista and 7 computers update just fine. Additionally the DNS server accepts both secure and non-secure updates. When people are connected through the Cisco's VPN, they cannot resolve to any machines that have reverse lookup zones, but they can resolve entries in the forward lookup zone. I have tried ipconfig /registerdns, but the forward lookup zone entries for the XP clients are not being populated. How can I get the XP Dynamic DNS client to make the updates, or what can I do to debug what's going on? Thanks

  This may be a really dumb question but how can you open a port on multiple interfaces without defining the interfaces? For example how do I open port 22 on all interfaces? On my machine I have some interfaces that are dynamic and may or may not be available so I have to set "generic" rules. • Trouble defining method for Javascript class definition.

  I'm somewhat new to object oriented programming in Javascript and I'm trying to build a handler object and library for a list of items I get back from an API call. Ideally, I'd like the library functions to be members of the handler class. I'm having trouble getting my class method to work however.   I am adding the new modul in some large library. All methods here are implemented as static. The f2 method is implemented by another author and represents some simulation algorithm (example here is siplified). class B { public: static double f2 (double ( * p_test ) ( const TData &arg ) ) { //difficult algorithm working p_test many times double res = p_test(arg); } }; The f2 method has a pointer to some weight function (here p_test). But in my case some additional parameters computed in f1 for test() methods are required double test ( const TData &arg, const TData &arg2, char *arg3.... ) { } How to inject these parameters into test() (and so to f2) to avoid changing the source code of the f2 methods (that is not trivial), redesign of the library and without dirty hacks :-) ? The most simple step is to override f2 static double f2 (double ( * p_test ) ( const TData &arg ), const TData &arg2, char *arg3.... ) But what to do later? Consider, that methods are static, so there will be problems with objects. Thanks for your help.

• Joomla get plugin id

  I wrote a Joomla plugin which will eventually load a library. The path to library is a plugin parameter, as such when the path is incorrect, a message pops up in the backend, together with a link to edit the plugin parameters: /administrator/index.php?option=com_plugins&view=plugin&client=site&task=edit&cid[]=36 See the 36 at the end? That's my plugin's id in the database (table jos_plugins). My issue is that this id changes on installation, ie, on different installs, it would be something else. So I need to find this id programmatically. The problem is that I couldn't find this id from the plugin object itself (as to why not, that would be joomla's arguably short-sighted design decision). So unless you know about some neat trick, (I've checked and double checked JPlugin and JPluginHelper classes), I'll be using the DB.   In my project I have one DB used for everything. I want it to break into two databases. Static tables having look up values are to be stored in one DB and another DB would be having tables with dynamic data. My problem is that how would I use foreign key constraint in between those two DBs. Can someone help me out and suggest a way to proceed, better if I'm provided an example for the same. I thought of using synonyms for tables and then constraints on synonyms. but later I came to know that synonyms couldn't be used for constraints. I need to maintain relationships among the tables from both DB as the issue is with update, with a new release I just want to update look up tables and for the same I want to split my DB. I want to know how FileGroups could be used for this.

• Dark Windows Themes

  I spend all day staring at computer screens. I have changed my Visual Studio theme to a dark theme, and find it much easier on the eyes. I'd like to change the rest of windows. Unfortunately, the only themes installed by default that are dark, are high contrast. Which is NOT what I am going for here. I can't seem to find an official dark theme, that isn't high contrast. I've found dynamic black, which is a good example of what I'm looking for, but it's not an official theme. Is there anything out there?

  Here is the thing, I'm working with ASP.NET and I'm using this particular SignalR library to broadcast a video to my clients, but as far as I know I can not stream video because signalR is a messaging system and it is not intended to stream video, files or things like that. Now what I am trying to do is to split the video into buffers that is Base64-encoded into a string, then on the client I am decoding this string and I am trying to load it into the source of a Video tag.
