  • What is a good free ODBC viewer?

    - by wshato
At my job I have to work with three different databases. One is a SQL Server 2008, for which I use SQL Server Management Studio, and another is MySQL, for which I use the MySQL tools. The third however is a Cache database that I can only access through a ODBC connection. Currently I use the SLIK software ODBC View tool to access it, but it is severely lacking when compared with the other two tools. Can anyone recommend a good tool for this type of work?

  • Disabled javascript for printing?

    - by Probocop
This may seem a strange question, but is it possible to disable javascript for the printed version of a webpage? The reason being, it causes the printout's layout to all be on top of each other. But if I turn off javascript it works fine. Any ideas?

  • Accessing weakly typed facebook sdk result object properties in .NET 3.5 using the API?

    - by John K
Consider the following in .NET 3.5 (using the Bin\Net35\Facebook*.dll assemblies): var app = new FacebookApp(); var result = app.Get("me"); // want to access result properties with no dynamic ... in the absence of the C# 4.0 dynamic keyword this provides only a generic object. How best should I access the properties of this result value? Are there helper or utility methods or stronger types in the facebook C# sdk, or should I use standard .NET reflection techniques?

  • Another Memory Alignment Question?

    - by utxeeeee
I understand why data need to be aligned (and all the efforts made to accomplish it like padding) so we can reduce the number of memory accesses but this assumes that processor just can fetch addresses multiples of 4(supposing we are using a 32-bit architecture). And because of that assumption we need to align memory and my question is why we can just access addresses multiple of 4(efficiency, hardware restriction, another one)? Which is the advantages of doing this? Why cannot we access all the addresses available? hugs

  • Why RSA Decryption process takes longer time than the Encryption process?

    - by Tara Singh
I have some idea that it is due to some complex calculation, but i want to know about what exactly happens which takes long time than the corresponding encryption process. Any link to webpage or paper would be of great help. Thanks Thanks for the answers, One more Doubt, What about the Signing and verification? Will this time difference be there for Signing and verification also? Ex. Signing requires more time than Verification?

  • How to POST data to an HTTP page from an HTTPS page

    - by buster55
I know this is a long shot, but I figured I'd ask the question anyway. I have an HTTPS page and am dynamically creating a form. I want to POST the form to an HTTP page. Is this possible without the browser popping up a warning? When I do this on IE8, I get the following message: Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely? Essentially, I'm asking about the inverse of question 1554237.

  • How can a property resolve its own name and type with reflection?

Is there a way for a property to access its own name and type at runtime using reflection? I want to access this info without hard coding the name or index of the property in the class. Simple Example Code: Private ReadOnly Property MyProperyName() As String Get Console.WriteLine((Get Current Property Info).Type.ToString) Console.WriteLine((Get Current Property Info).Name) Return "" End Get End Property Expected output: System.String MyPropertyName

  • How classes are secure than structures ?

    - by Asad Hanif
Structure's member are public by default ans class's members are private by default. We can access private data members through a proper channel (using member function). If we have access to member functions we can read/write data in private data member, so how it is secure...we are accessing it and we are changing data too.....

  • Where can I write a temp file from ASP.NET?

    - by ProfK
I have an 'access denied' problem on an ASP.NET web application, where the user uploads an Excel file and I try and write it to a folder. I don't have access to the host except FTP, so I can't set permissions. I thought that ASP.NET would be able to write to a folder that is under the web app root, but it isn't so. Is there anywhere I can write the file to that doesn't require me to set permissions?

  • How do I change the CSS from a web page contained in an object tag? (XHTML, jquery)

    - by Jose
Hi! I've been having a bit of a problem with jQuery and XHTML. Basically, I've got an object tag that contains a Web Page in its data attribute. Now, what I want is that when I click a button I get this web page and dinamically change the CSS file it's currently using. I've tried to get the page by using jquery, but all I get is the object itself, not the webpage contained in the object. Thanks!! :)

  • Notepad++ tabs to spaces

    - by Helephant
Does anyone know how to convert tabs to spaces in Notepad++? I found a webpage that suggests it's possible (http://www.texteditors.info/notepad-replacements-compared.php) but I couldn't find any information about how to do it. I like to be able to do that because some web forms don't respect code with tabs in it.
