• Changing UINavigationBar font in Swift

  I have a UINavigationBar with a title in the middle. I have added a custom font ("Comic_Andy.ttf") to my app (I have checked info.plist to make sure it's listed, and I have checked the Copy Bundle Resources to make sure it has been added), and I would like the title of the UINavigationBar to be displayed in that font. From what I can gather it seems as though I'm supposed to use this in my ViewController: myNavigationBar.titleTextAttributes = [NSFontAttributeName: UIFont(name: "Comic_Andy", size: 22)] I placed that method in the viewDidLoad function of the ViewController. I have also tried this in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions function of the AppDelegate: UINavigationBar.appearance().titleTextAttributes = [NSFontAttributeName: UIFont(name: "Comic_Andy", size: 22)] I am programming in Swift, in XCode 6 Beta 6. Many resources regarding this task have mentioned using a method called setTitleTextAttributes, which is nowhere to be seen. I can't figure it out for the life of me - I've probably spent close to 3 hours on it by now - I have checked every StackOverflow answer, every website, so please do not mark this as a duplicate. • Redirect Log output to sdcard on customer's phone

  My customers are having a problem with my app, and I have been unable to reproduce the problem on my development phone. How to debug this problem? The android Log class is great, but my customers do not know how to use 'adb' or the USB debug cable. Is there some way to redirect Log output to a file on the phone's SD card? Then the customer could easily email the log file to me. Even if this redirection requires programming on my part, I could at least distribute a 'debug' version of the app. Thanks, Tom

• Problem with Classes in Python..

  Ok guys, I'm really new at python (and programming itself) so sorry for my ignorance, but I really needed to ask this. So im doing a wxPython project where I added several tabs for a notebook (each tab of the notebook = a class) and there is one tab where I added a checkbox (in a tab, lets call it for example Tab1), and what I want is that when someone checks it, a button that exists in other tab (class called for example tab2) gets hidden where previously it was being shown. Well I see that it isn't hard to accomplish this, but my problem is the classes (tab1 and tab2, in this example). I've been trying to figure it out by searching but I guess im not searching hard enough because I just can't get it right. If they were in the same class I wouldn't have a problem, but as they are in different classes, im having a huge struggle with this. Hope someone can help me, and sorry for my ignorance once again.

  I'm programming a GPS tracking system using the Motorola i335 running on Sprint's IDEN network. I'm using the javax.microedition.location api to find the GPS coordinates. To set up the updating, you use the [setLocationListener][1] method. I originally tried passing (listener,2,1,1). However there was too many invalid locations being received (where the GPS could not get the fix in the specified time), so I changed the parameters to (listener, 20, 20, 1). Now the system barely throws any invalid locations. My goal is to get the fastest number of updates that are realistic. Have any of you found a happy medium for parameters of this method? • Zend framework helper intellisense

  Not so much a programming problem, but more a productivity problem. We've got quite a few custom view and action helpers in our project. Working with around 7 programmers. Now when someone, creates a helper or if one would want to use a helper, it all goes through the brokers. This means we do not get intellisense for those helpers, which can be real time consuming, having to go look in the docs or the code files. This is ofcourse true for both build in and custom helpers. Does any1 share this pain? Does any1 have a solution for this?

• Android: Saving custom button and spinner

  Hello All, I am new to Android programming and was handed a fairly large program that is almost complete, but needed support for switching between portrait and landscape view. I added android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" to the manifest and used onConfigurationChanged to save the view data and that works. However, there is a button that displays the date selected (when pressed a calendar to select the date comes up) and a spinner that displays the current view and is used to select a new view. Those two items are being cleared/reset and do not work at all after the screen flip. I have been attempting to use onSaveInstanceState and onRestoreInstanceState to fix that, but I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Any advice?

  i'm thinking of designing and implementing a content filtering software as my graduation project. i want it to be a user contributed software. i mean, users can also add/categorize websites. it should be also a web project and extensions for browsers like chrome, firefox, ie.. my question is which programming language do you suggest for this project? i know that firefox extensions are javascript based maybe you can say use .net framework 3.5 because it's better in communication with extensions. sorry for my bad english.. btw any other suggessions about project will be good.. thx a lot.

• SQL Server Agent 2005 job runs but no output

  Essentially I have a job which runs in BIDS and as as a stand lone package and while it runs under the SQL Server Agent it doesn't complete properly (no error messages though). The job steps are: 1) Delete all rows from table; 2) Use For each loop to fill up table from Excel spreasheets; 3) Clean up table. I've tried this [MS page][1] (steps 1 & 2), didn't see any need to start changing from Server side security. Also SQLServerCentral.com for [this page][2], no resolution. How can I get error logging or a fix? Note I've reposted this from Server Fault as it's one of those questions that's not pure admin or programming. I have logged in as the proxy account I'm running this under, and the job runs stand alone but complains that the Excel tables are empty?

• Automatic setting of Local Time zone w/DST

  I can derive latitude and longitude and UTC time from GPS NMEA sentences. Now, how can I automaticly adjust the Windows local time zone on my PC (2003 Server OS), based on this? Also, Is there an easy way of distributing this to clients based on code or apps software? Preferred programming environment is .NET, C# & Visual Studio. I use a GPS Time server (GPS clock with antenna) today, but this could not support other than UTC. I want to set computers in my TCP/UDP network to correct time zone w/DST based on coordinates derived from GPS, so manually setting of all is not required.

  Hi, i have little dilemma, i often use data-bound controls such as Gridview in conjunction with ObjectDataSource. But i have two possible options when can i bind data to Gridview. The first is that i set datasourceid of gridview in aspx file and databind occurs in a moment before PreRender event occurs or i can set datasource in Page_Load event and databinding occurs immediately, something like this: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { testGridView.DataSource = testObjectDataSource.Select(); testGridView.DataBind(); } } I think that in second approach i have more control above databinding. But how it is in real programming life? Which of the above two options is commonly used? Or is there some third option how can i bind data to data-bound control? Well, I would like to ask id you know what is the interpolator described in Material design: It looks to be an AccelerateDecelerateInterpolator but the deceleration effect decays slower. • Methods to achieve first, previous, next and last navigation

  I'm new to programming and have a question about navigation. What are the various methods that can achieve a "First", "Previous", "Next" and "Last" navigation, as seen in article or comic based sites? (Admittedly the "First" link isn't confusing as it can stay static, but what about the others?) For example, on the 50th page, the links would appropriately lead to the 49th and 51st (if it exists, if not it would not function but would automatically become active when such a page exists. In most examples of this I see urls ending with something like ".php?id=50" but am not certain how it's achieved, with a database? Any help will be very much appreciated, thanks.

  Hi, I am learning programming in embedded systems using Linux as my main platform. And I want to create a Device Event Management Service. This service is a user-space application/daemon that will detect if a connected hardware module triggered an event. But my problem is I don't know where should I start. I read about Netlink implementation for userspace-kernelspace communication and it seems its a good idea but not sure if it is the best solution. But I read that the UDEV device manager uses Netlink to wait a "uevent" from the kernel space but it is not clear for me how to do that. I read about polling sysfs but it seems it is not a good idea to poll filesystem. What do you think the implementation that should I use in my service? Should I use netlink(hard/no clue how to) or just polling the sysfs(not sure if it works)? Thanks

  Hi all, a bit of advice required here :). I recently graduated(Computer Science), and need to decide a path to take programming/technology wise. I have knowledge of Java, C, SQL most of it is university level stuff. I work daily with PHP/SQL building web apps. Which language / technology would you advise me to learn. I am very interested in Database management, GIS etc. Web dev is also very interesting to me. It is all a bit confusing since i would like to learn something that will have a value at least in the near future. I would like to have some ideas on which language/technology is god choice in order to be marketable.

  Hi, I have got several thousands of lines of a web application source code, initially written on a US development system, to maintain. It makes heavy use of SQL statement strings, which are combined on the fly, e.g. string SQL = "select * from table where double_value = " + Math.Round(double_value, 2); Don't comment on bad programming style, that doesn't help me in this case :) The cruix: My system uses a German locale, which in turn leads to wrong SQL statements, like this: "select * from table where double_value = 15,5" (Note the comma as decimal separator instead of a point). Question: What is the most "elegant" way to change the locale of the web app in this case) to US or UK in order to prevent being forced to change and inspect every single line of code? .net 3.5 is not an option (would give me the chance to overwrite ToString() in an extension class) Kind regards

• What is a good Very-High level UI framework for JavaScript?

  I need to write a temporary Web-based graphical front-end for a custom server system. In this case performance and scalability aren't issues, since at most 10 people may check the system simultaneously. Also it should be PHP or Python (server) & JavaScript (client) (can't use Flex or Silverlight for very specific non-programming related issues). So I know I could use YUI or jQuery, but was wondering if there is something even more high-level that would say allow me to write such a little project within a few hours of work, and get done with it. Basically I want to be as lazy as possible (this is throw-away code anyways) and get the job done in as little time as possible. Any suggestions?

• from ggplot2 to OOo workflow?

  This is not really a programming question, but I try here none the less. I once used latex for my reports. But the people I work with needs to make small edits and do not have latex skillz. Openoffice is then the way to go. But saving ggplot images with dpi 100 makes for really ugly graphs. dpi = 600 is a no go (e.g. huge legend). So what to do? I currently save (still via ggsave) to eps - which openoffice can import. But performance is not good at all. Googling I found a bug for the poor eps performance in OOo, and also talk about a non-implemented svg feature. But none helps me right now. If you work with ggplot2 and OOo - What do you do? I have been unsuccesfull with pdf conversion for some reason.

In some other machine's it is vice versa. If you maximize or restore the form, the size varies. I tried to check the window form design on different machines using visual studio 2008, there also the form design looks differently. Please give me the solution to fix this issue.
