  • CDN with South America peering points / edge nodes

    Hello, Does anyone one know of a CDN (Content Delivery Network) with true South American peering points or edge nodes? This seems to be quite rare. It seems that most CDNs serve Central and South America from Texas. However, our application requires low latency in Brazil, so this is not a good solution for us. We would like to avoid having to set up servers in South America just for this piece of the application, but may end up doing that. Thanks, Bill

  • Advice/suggestions for my first project PHP Classes

    Hi guys, Any advice is welcome! I have a very limited understanding of php classes but below is my starting point for the route I would like to take. The code is a reflection of what I see in my head and how I would like to go about business. Does my code even look ok, or am I way off base? What are your thoughts, how would you go about achieving such a task as form-validate-insertquery-sendmail-return messages and errors?     Hello (this is a long post sorry), I am writing a application in ASP.NET MVC 2 and I have reached a point where I am receiving this error when I connect remotely to my Server. Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. Please make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed. In summary: The error is hit after the page is redirected, so the first iteration is executing as expected (so permissions on the database are correct, user profiles etc) shortly after the redirect when it filters the database query for the possible domain/subdomain of current redirected page, it errors out.

I integrated this in windows, but while trying to integrate it to ubuntu I am facing an error "uninitialized constant OpenSSL::Digest::SHA1" I googled for the solution but still unsuccessful. I am unable to load the file, "require Digest/SHA1" Now, i tried to run console screen. and tried to check the Digest file by putting print statement, this gives false, while in the irb it returns true.   • CellTable + AsyncListViewAdapter<T>, stuck at 'loading' when paging

    Hi I'm trying to make CellTable, AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T> working together. I managed to display my data, but whenever I click either "go to start" or "go to end" button I get that 'loading' indicator which stays there till the end of days. ( AsyncListViewAdapter<T>.onRangeChanged doesn't even get called this time.) As I have only single row in my data those two buttons should be (and appear to be) disabled. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see nothing suspicions in what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake?   • invite friends in a dialog in a Facebook application

    I'm trying to create a Facebook application that displays a friend invite dialog within the application using Facebook's Javascript API (FB.ui). To do that I followed this tutorial I have two problems : The action url I've put in the request-form is "http://apps.facebook.com/appname/post_invite.php" but I see that the iframe source after the post is "http://mydomain.com/post_invite.php" and when this iframe tries to do : parent.closeInviteWidget(); I get an error saying : "Permission denied for < http: //mydomain.com (document.domain has not been set) to get property Window.closeInviteWidget from < http:// apps.facebook.com (document.domain=< http:// facebook.com)." The skip button inside the request-form opens the action url in a new window (new browser tab) and not post to itself like the invite button.   • Using empty row as default in a ComboBox with Style "DropDownList"?

    Hi board I am trying to write a method, that takes a ComboBox, a DataTable and a TextBox as arguments. The purpose of it is to filter the members displayed in the ComboBox according to the TextBox.Text. The DataTable contains the entire list of possible entries that will then be filtered. For filtering, I create a DataView of the DataTable, add a RowFilter and then bind this View to the ComboBox as DataSource. To prevent the user from typing into the ComboBox, I choose the DropDownStyle DropDownList. That’s working fine so far, except that the user should also be able to choose nothing / empty line. In fact, this should be the default member to be displayed (to prevent choosing a wrong member by accident, if the user clicks through the dialog too fast). I tried to solve this problem by adding a new Row to the view. While this works for some cases, the main issue here is that any DataTable can be passed to the method. If the DataTable contains columns that cannot be null and don’t contain a default value, I suppose I will raise an error by adding an empty row. A possibility would be to create a view that contains only the column that is defined as DisplayMember, and the one that is defined as ValueMember. Alas, this can’t be done with a view in C#. I would like to avoid creating a true copy of the DataTable at all cost, since who knows how big it will get with time. Do you have any suggestions how to get around this problem? Instead of a view, could I create an object containing two members and assign the DisplayMember and the ValueMember to these members? Would the members be passed as reference (what I hope) or would true copied be created (in which case it would not be a solution)? Thank you very much for your help!     I would love to thank @Stefan Steinegger and @David helped me out yesterday with many-to-many mapping. I have 3 tables which are "News", "Tags" and "News_Tags" with Many-To-Many relationship and the "News_Tags" is the link table. If I delete one of the news records, the following mappings will delete all my news records which have the same tags. One thing I need to notice, I only allowed unique tag stored in the "Tag" table. This mapping make sense for me, it will delete the tag and related News records, but how can I implement a tagging system with NHibernate? Can anyone give me some suggestion? Many thanks. Daoming. The user enters a bunch of picks. I make sure the user hasn't already entered those picks.   • jqTouch - why does the transition has no animation?

    Hi, I'm using jqTouch. Trying to figure out why when the scene / div change, it just change abruptly without the slide animation? Here is the setting that I have now: var jQT = new $.jQTouch({ slideSelector: '.link', useAnimations: true }); Again the scene change works just fine, just that I don't see the slide animation.   • Create an UIButton with "push button" appearance?

    I want to create a button with the same look and feel as the "Timer" function in the builtin Clock app, but it really eludes me how to do it. By looking at the source code for UICatalog, it seems to create these buttons you need to create a custom bitmap. Is this true? If so, is there a "standard" bitmap that can be used, to ensure consistent user experience?

  • Share ASP.Net membership info between two applications

    Hi All, I have an existing webapp and i'm attempting to setup BlogEngine .Net to share the membership tables Everything seems to work.. accept i can see that the Membership.ValidateUser call in blogengine returns false! While the other apps returns true. I'm at a loss.. Membership.GetUser called from both apps returns the correct user.. Any ideas? thanks!

  • reference dll not copying to bin with deployment project causing error

    We have several external dlls being referenced in our Web Application Project. We have a deployment project for installing on the hosting servers. When we were using .net 3.5 and vs2008 the dll were being copied to the bin folder. Since we have upgraded to .net 4 vs2010 this no longer happens and we are getting servers errors since the references cannot be found. CopyLocal is set to true, and i cannot find anything inside the web.config which suggest this is being set else where.
