I would like to map ip address to specific localhost interfaces (e.g. 23.45.66.77 = 127.0.3.3). For named hosts I can use the hosts file. Naturally this doesn't work for IP address.
This has to work in windows, the only option I've found so far is implementing a TAP/TUN driver like openvpn does.
Are there any other options?
I received a out of memory error
SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 53200
from postgres while trying to upload a 10MB file into a single row with a column of blob-type bytea.
Which configuration parameters should be changed to allow inserts of this size, or should this work out of the box without modifications?
Is there an option like in informix-db to create so called blob-spaces?
Linux netfilter iptables Conntrack table already has records for bytes and packets on both directions. Is there any way to log those values to a log file while a connection is closing by netfilter.

Hi there. I am running a web app on Tomcat at the following location on my server.
/var/tomcat/webapps/SoccerApp
I am looking to update the Tomcat httpd.conf file with the following virtual host...
<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot /var/tomcat/webapps/SoccerApp/MyTeam
ServerName www.mysoccerapp.com
</VirtualHost>
This gives me a 404 error as the directory MyTeam does not exist. However my application behaves in a way that it uses this URL directory as the name of the soccer team for which to display data, so it will never be a physical folder on the server. None the less, I would like www.mysoccerapp.com to resolve to webapps/SoccerApp/MyTeam, even though the directory isnt there.
does this make any sense? Any ideas on how to get this working. At the end of the day, i want to do the following...
www.teamone.com -> runs /webapps/SoccerApp/TeamOne
www.teamone.com -> runs /webapps/SoccerApp/TeamTwo
...where TeamOne and TeamTwo are not physical directories, but merely processed by my SoccerApp application as the current soccer team to display data for.
Many many thanks!
Dave.
I have an FTP connection active through the Map Network Drive option in Windows 7 64-bit.
When navigating the remote directory, I see no way to edit files. Windows is completely ignoring file-type associations and "opens" everything with my default browser.
Is there any way that I can simply edit these files?
I'm open to suggestions of other software as well, but from what I can see, NetDrive doesn't work with 64-bit.
I have a scheduled backup that backs up the shared files and system state. It is set to run as "normal" mode. However, when it runs it only makes a 2K size file when it should be like 60GB.What rookie mistake am I making?
I followed the steps here to set up Sharepoint integration with reporting services (SSRS) using native mode. (i.e., get a report explorer and viewer web parts)
However after adding the cabinet file e.g.,
STSADM.EXE -o addwppack -filename "C:\ Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Reporting Services\SharePoint\RSWebParts.cab" -globalinstall
I still don't see report explorer in the web parts list. I'm very stuck and confused :-(
On the one hand I have a lot of tar files created with gnu format, and on the other hand I have a tool that only supports pax (aka posix) format. I am looking for an easy way to convert the existing tar files to pax format - without extracting them to the file system and re-create the archives.
GNU tar supports both formats. However, I haven't found an easy way to the conversion.
How can I convert the existing gnu tar files to pax?
I want to programatically rename a file and it could be open. It's a log file. When I was testing my code the rename part didn't work because the log file TestPro.log was open by the TAF (Test Automation Framework).
When TestPro is running and I try to delete the file I get the error "Cannot delete because is being used by another person or program."
Is there any way how to rename a file (programatically) that is open the way the log file was?
I am in the process of working on Umbraco and when I go throuogh the process of downloading it from Codeplex via TortoiseSVN, I get the following error message.
C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties
Can't move
'C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties\.svn\tmp\entries'
to
'C:\Projects\Umbraco\branches\rb403\umbraco\umbraco.webservices\Properties\.svn\entries':
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
Has anyone seen this before and or know of a workaround? to download everything and sync?
I just tried http://www.filedropper.com/ with a 400 Mb file. It succeeded to upload but in the end didn't redirect to the link :(
So any other service like this that works better (please avoid giving me sites with tons of porn ads :))
I have a zip file here, and i want to determine how it was compressed (the specific algorithm, properties used to apply that algorithm, etc.). What software can do this for me?
When I install Fedora 19 with a kickstart file and via network, the generated ifcfg-eth0 file is genorated by the kickstart:
# Generated by parse-kickstart
However if I use the same kickstart file and install via a USB stick, the ifcfg file is generated by initrd.
# Generated by dracut initrd
The line in the kickstart file to set the network settings is as follows:
network --device=eth0 --bootproto=dhcp --hostname=SOMEHOSTNAME
Is there away to keep network device settings set in the kickstart file when not installing via network?
Per http://askubuntu.com/a/107976 I tried tar xf php-5.6.0RC4.tar.xz and tar -xJf php-5.6.0RC4.tar.xz and in both cases I get the following:
tar (child): xz: Cannot exec: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Here's php-5.6.0RC4.tar.xz:

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
I have defined my own custom vim file type with highlighting etc. I would like to open it using the terminal based vim when I double click on it. I am using mac os x. Any pointers on how to start on this?
Without booting to Linux, how do you delete a directory that was created in Linux on an NTFS partition that contains a pipe in the file name?
For example:
f:\flac\foreign\Yoshida_Brothers\Best_of_Yoshida_Brothers_|_Tsugaru_Shamisen
Tried and failed:
Midnight Commander
Recursively deleting the parent folder
del /f /s /q Yoshida_Brothers
del /f /s /q "\\?f:\flac\foreign\Yoshida_Brothers\
rmdir /s Yoshida_Brothers
FileASSASSIN
Other ideas?
Is there any single application that convert all the following video file formats (3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, dv, dvx, flv, gif, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, xvid) to Flv?
I have written the following batch file that does a great job combing through all folders beginning with the number 3 and applying folder permissions to any 2010 subfolder. Example of the batch filesis below:
for /D %%f in (D:\Data\3*) do icacls "%%f\2010" /inheritance:r /grant:r "Domain Admins":(OI)(CI)F
Question : How can I improve this script to allow for me to apply the permissions to a specific folder below ANY folder within the folders beginning with 3?
here is an example of my failed attempt:
for /D %%f in (D:\Data\3*) do icacls "%%f*\specificfolder" /inheritance:r /grant:r "Domain Admins":(OI)(CI)F
For some reason file copies are taking too long to/from my Dell Inspiron 530. It is possible that the performance deteriorated after upgrading to Windows 7.
I feel that it's going to be very difficult for a virus to infect an ISO file. What's your experience? Have you seen it happening ever? Is it not nearly unlikely?
I ask because I've just found that my computer is infected and I wish to salvage as much stuff as possible. So I was wondering if I could keep my ISO files.
I need to render SVG files to other file formats (.png, for example.) What's a good application for performing that render or conversion?
Specifically, I need an application that runs on Windows.
I'd welcome suggestions for other platforms, as well.
