  • DateTime.ParseExact string format exception.

    - by Rob Ferno
I am trying to convert a string into datetime with the following C# code, DateTime dTo = DateTime.ParseExact(dateTo, "mm/dd/yyyy", CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); eachtime I pass dateTo as 1/1/2010 it fails, instead it needs the string to be 01/01/2010. What string format should I use to support both 01/01/2010 and 1/1/2010?

  • ODBC: how to handle Booleans?

    - by mawg
Disclaimer: I am a n00b. It seems like ODBC does not support a BOOLEAN type? Is this true? If so, what's the standard kludgearound? Edit: I am using ADO with Delphi on Windows to write the data, but PHP 5 to read it back.

  • Writing a file shredder in python or ruby?

    - by pmilb21
In the effort to learn python and/or ruby, I was wondering how a file shredder would be implemented? I would like it to take in a file as an argument and then employ an algorithm to make that file unrecoverable. Would possibly add the support for multiple files or even whole directories later.

I don't remember the refernce or link, but recently, I read about the latest framework being a little slow in performance when compared to its predecessors. Is that true? has anybody done any tests or have some valid arguments to support this?

  • Sharing code between Android and Windows Mobile

    - by reuscam
I'm doing some initial research on smart phone development, and I noticed that Android and Windows Mobile both support c++ for application development. I was curious if anyone had any experience trying to manage shared files between both Android and Windows Mobile, and to what extent that code can be shared? e.g. no user interface can be shared, but web service and business logic classes can be shared, etc.

  • Correct way to manage multiple h:inputText?

    - by Mirco Attocchi
I've an h:dataTable to display my item information (in my case a customer support request) and for each row I'd like to put an h:inputText and h:commandButton to add a comment to the desired item. I've no problem with action, but my question is about the correct way to manage many h:inputText and related value on backbean. I'm not sure that is correct to make all h:inputText set the value to the same backbean property. Any suggestions? Thanks all.

  • What is the best way to implement a Server-Client connection between an iPad and multiple iPhones?

    - by Infinite
Based on a college-project I'm trying to realize a relatively simple game (Poker) where an iPad acts as Server and multiple iPod-Touchs connect to it as Clients. Gamekit seems to drop out, since those old ipod-touch-devices don't have bluetooth-support. Are there already some Frameworks out there simplifying the process, or do I have to fall back on TCP-Streaming-Sockets and implement it myself?

  • Syntax highlighting on iPhone Text-Editor

    - by pbcoder
Hi, I want to write a simple text editor for iPhone with syntax highlighting support for c,c++. But the problem is, I dont't know how to do this. The first solution I was thinking about, was to go over the text and highlight keywords when the value of the UITextView has changed, but I think that if I got more than 1000lines of code that doesn't work very well. Thanks for help!

  • mysql left join queries

    - by Mike79
I have a question about the snippet below. I'm wondering, if the first query doesn't bring any results, would I still get the results for the second query? select * from ( -- first query ) as query1 left join ( -- second query ) as query2 on query1.id=query2.id left join ( -- third query ) as query3 on query1.id=query3.id; Update: what I need is a full join, however, MySQL does not support it, what would be a good way to emulate this?

  • Recommended ways of Importing a maven project to IDE ?

    - by Tony
Many IDEs supports to import maven projects directly, but maven has a maven-eclipse-plugin, when you run : mvn eclipse:eclipse It will generate eclipse project settings ,then you can import as generic eclipse project. Which one is better? I prefer the first one, as my IDE is eclipse 3.5 shiped with WTP 3.1 and m2eclipse, I don't know if maven-eclipse-plugin support WTP 3.1 project settings ? If I don't import correct project settings, I don't think eclipse will recognize my project, when I deploy a web application, it ususally can't find webroot folder.

  • instantiate object with reflection using constructor arguments

    - by justin
I'm trying to figure out how to instantiate a case class object with reflection. Is there any support for this? The closest I've come is looking at scala.reflect.Invocation, but this seems more for executing methods that are a part of an object. case class MyClass(id:Long, name:String) def instantiate[T](className:String)(args:Any*) : T = { //your code here } Is close to the API I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Security concerns for a multi-lingual web application.

    - by The Rook
I am converting a PHP MySQL web application written for English language into a Multi-Language site. Do you know any vulnerabilities that affect web applications in another language? Or perhaps vulnerabilities that could be introduced in the conversion of code base to support multiple languages. (If you know any vulnerabilities of this type in another programming language I'll give you a +1)
