  • How to find and fix issue with Pound and HAProxy

    Pound sits in front of HAProxy (on the same box) to perform SSL off-load. Requests are passed to 127.0.0.1:80 where HAProxy then balances the requests across backend servers for a hosted ASP .NET web app. A user is getting HTTP error 500 (Internal Server Error) returned to their browser this morning and I can see it is comming from Pound. They see no log entry in their web app (IIS) server logs, so its not hitting the back end servers. I think the problem is possibly with HAProxy.     I'm starting a project that involves writing mailets for Apache James. As far as I can tell, the only way to test a change in my code (on Windows) is through the following steps: Compile the mailet code Build a jar file containing the mailet Copy the jar file into the apps/james/SAR-INF/lib directory Start JAMES from run.bat Run test Stop JAMES by telneting to port 4555 and issuing a shutdown command (I guess on Linux a SIGTERM would suffice) I can automate all these steps using Ant and some scripting magic, but I was wondering if I was missing something. Does anyone here have experience developing mailets? Did you use a similar process, or is there an easier way? For example, is there a way to make a running James instance reload the mailets JAR?

  • Running Xcode Applications without installing Xcode

    I know nothing about Xcode, except it's a Developer interface from Apple that actually comes on OSX CD and it's used to create iPhone apps as well. I also know it have a Applications folder, filled with little utilities, that are indeed quite useful. I tried grabbing one of them and running, without installing Xcode but it doesn't work. It brings an error and a Problem Report from which I believe the relevant part is this: Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: @rpath/DevToolsInterface.framework/Versions/A/DevToolsInterface I've tried, of course, locating that "framework", with no success. Well... I guess it's probably possible to install Xcode, get that utility source, if it exists somewhere, and compile for stand-alone. But that goes beyond my point. I just want to know if there's somewhere I can get those utilities and/or make them run without needing to install Xcode at all.

  • Django not recognizing django admin urls

    I just registered my models my models with django admin. I navigate to the django admin at /admin. I log in sucessfully and I can see all my models. great so far. But now if I try to click one of the links, for Ex: 'users', django gives me a 404 saying The current URL, admin/auth/user/, didn't match any of these. Its really weird because in my urls.py I have it mapped correctly (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), I have all the required middleware enabled and have these in my installed apps 'django.contrib.auth', 'django.contrib.contenttypes', 'django.contrib.sessions', 'django.contrib.sites', 'django.contrib.messages', 'django.contrib.admin', anyone have any idea?     I want to be able to take the user to the requested page after login, but this does not happen with sfGuard. ** My Register action requires SignIn ;) ** On the listing page [http://cim/frontend_dev.php/] - user clicks the 'Register' link [@register = register/index] - user is taken to 'Signin' page provided by sfGuard - after sign-in, user is taken back to the Listing page (instead of Register) This is quite annoying! But logical, because the referrer is the listing page. How can I change logic to make @register the referrer?     I saw the other question here with the similar error yet their fixes did not help. I have a jailbroken iphone 3.1.2, and I just purchased apple's $99 dollar thing and I'm trying to make it so I can debug my apps on the phone. The device installs but will not run when clicked build and go. If I click on the icon made on the iphone it works. Any ideas? I already uninstalled and reinstalled my provisioning profile.

  • Strategy to lazy load images for buttons within UIScrollView?

    I have a horizontal UIScrollView that contains UIButtons (though it could be any object). I would like to only download images for these buttons as the user scrolls and they are seen. I would also like an activityindicator running on each button while the images are downloading. Here's what I've tried with results: Check content offset of uiscrollview and download images for visible buttons. Problem: issues getting activity view shown within subclassed UIButton and not desired usability since images are only downloaded once scrolling stops. Add subviews (not buttons) to the UIScrollview hoping to use the view's ViewController to initiate a downloaded on viewDidAppear. Problem: viewDidAppear never seems to get called (because I am using addSubView?). I've seen other apps that do this kind of loading but need some guidance on the typical set-up. Ebay's app is a great example. All items have a default image until the item comes into view, then an activityindicator runs and the items unique image is downloaded. Thanks for assistance.

  • Detect browser focus/out-of-focus via Google Chrome Extension

    Is there a way to find out if Google chrome is in focus or out of focus? I'm creating an app which needs to know if the user is currently using the browser or not. By tying the detection through the content script in a Google extension, I've tried using blur and focus but the problem is that clicking on the address bar also fires a blur event. Same goes for detecting mouse movement, where moving the mouse outside of the viewing area will not be detected. I've also tried looking at onFocusChanged but it seems it only detects changes in chromes' windows not apps outside of Chrome. Anyone have other ideas for this? Also, would this be any easier if I created an add-on for firefox instead? Thanks!

  • Having the output of a Console App in Visual Studio instead of the Console

    When doing "Console" apps in Java with Eclipse, I see the output being put in a text box on the IDE itself, instead of having a Console popping up like in Visual Studio. This comes in handy, as even after the program has exited, I can still make good use of the text that was written in it, as it doesn't get erased until I run it again. Is it possible to achieve anything like that with Visual Studio? I know that instead of doing System.Console.WriteLine(str); I can do System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(str); but it is not quite the same thing, as you get a lot of "junk" in the Output window, as all the loaded symbols and such. Even better, is it possible to have everything done in the IDE itself, when you run your app, instead of having the Console running? Thanks

  • Performance implications of Synchronous Sockets vs Asynchronous Sockets

    We are trying to build an SMTP Server to receive mail notifications from various clients over internet. As each of the communication will be longer and it needs to log everything, doing this Asynchronous way is little challenging as well as by using Socket's Asynchronous methods we are not sure of how flow of control and error handling happens. Previously we wrote lot of server/client apps but we always used Synchronous sockets, reason being they are longer sessions and each session also has lot of local data to manage and parsing messages etc. Does anyone have any experience over real performance differences between these two methods? Async calls use ThreadPool which we have experienced many times to just die for no reason. And we fail to restart threadpool etc. In one way Request-Response protocol of HTTP, Async Sockets makes sense, but SMTP/IMAP etc protocols are longer and they have interleaved messages plus state machine of server. So Async methods are really complicated to program. However if anyone can share the performance of Sockets, it will be helpful.

    I currently work in a position that i have to manage and access 1000s of pages for troubleshooting and new setup.... and im trying to figure out a way for firefox or chrome to setup ANYtime it sees for instance a a web based page for equipment like (CISCO, Linksys, Sonicwall, T1 controllers) from the manufacture in the Title bar or from the originating page place a set up 2 - 3 passwords to auto log on with. 1st one of course being the most common so it logs in faster.. I access about 14 different web based products with passwords tied to each of them and if someway i can grab info stating that hey this company is cisco/sonicwall/linksys/hp/ log on with these set of 3-5 credintials. Using possible If then statements.... is that hard i saw some script files but not sure if its difficult because some apps use the MSG BOX built in feature and some use the form submit method built on the page unless i can have 2 different grease monkey scripts at the same time.... thanks.

    I'm trying to build a debug version of rtl140.bpl to make debugging apps with runtime packages easier. I built the DPK and ran DCC32 on it, and it gets a ways in, then dies. C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\7.0\source\Win32\rtl\sys\Variants.pas(1072) Fatal: F2092 Program or unit 'Variants' recursively uses itself But looking at Variants.pas, I can't see how. It only uses SysUtils and Types in the interface section, and neither of those use Variants, or use anything that uses Variants. Does anyone have any idea why this is breaking?
