    I'm trying to make a test for checking whether a sys.argv input matches the regex for an IP address... As a simple test, I have the following... import re pat = re.compile("\d{1,3}.\d{1,3}.\d{1,3}.\d{1,3}") test = pat.match(hostIP) if test: print "Acceptable ip address" else: print "Unacceptable ip address" However when I pass random values into it, it returns "Acceptable ip address" in most cases, except when I have an "address" that is basically equivalent to \d+ Any thoughts welcome. Now I guess the problem is people having script tags and javascript in the editor and injecting malicious scripts and I have my validate input turned false. So can anyone suggest me a way to write a custom validation method that maybe checks for script tags and removes them...or just guide me through the steps i need to do ?...also are there other things also that I should be worried about..?

I have been following along in Nerd Dinner and used the demo as a way to create my own app. I have created a page that lists out some food items with calories, fat, protein,etc...   • DataContractSerializer: preserve string member that happens to be raw xml?

    I'm a little inexperienced with the DataContract paradigm, and I'm running into a deserialization problem. I have a field that's a string, but it contains xml and it's not being deserialized correctly. I have a feeling that it's because the DCS is treating it as input to the serializer and not as an opaque string object. Is there some way to mark a DataMember in code to say "This thing is a string, don't treat its contents as xml" similar to XmlIgnore? Thanks!

  • C++ program Telephone Directory from a file

    I am writing a program for a phone directory. The user inputs a name and the program searches the file and either outputs the number or an error because the persons name is not in the file. The program should also ask the user if they would like to continue using the program and look up another number. So far runs and asks for the name and then prints the error message that I put in place saying that the name is not in the database.     I am new to Javascript. I am facing a problem with global variables. I can't figure out that why the global variables are not working as the code looks ok. Please Help me solve this problem.
