• django-lfs upload Image doesn't work on some environment ?

  yesterday, after I complete setup django-lfs without buildout. Happlily create categories and products but while I upload image to product after I push upload button its stay always 'pendings'. I use fedora django==1.1.2,PIL==1.1.7. but its work on osx. Now I try on Ubuntu9.10 with completely PIL==1.1.7 and Django==1.1.2 and its won't work. Anyone hav some good solution for this ? (i may think of flash version because upload part looklike its come from flash)

  Hi Alls, I'm trying to make a script to list all directory, subdirectory, and files in a given directory. I tried this : import sys,os root="/home/patate/directory/" path=os.path.join(root,"targetdirectory") for r,d,f in os.walk(path): for file in f: print os.path.join(root,file) Unfortunatly it doesn't work properly, i get all the files, but not them complete path. like : if the dir struct would be : /home/patate/directory/targetdirectory/123/456/789/file.txt It would print: /home/patate/directory/targetdirectory/file.txt What i need is the first result, any help would be greatly appreciated ! • Classic ASP and MVC side-by-side, different projects?

  I've tried asking this in a few different ways, but let's give it another shot (as I've yet to receive an answer and this is driving me nuts!) I have a very large classic ASP 3.0 application (~350K lines) that I want to start migrating to ASP.NET MVC. I'd like to keep the old ASP files in a separate project from the MVC stuff. Ideas on how to debug these? Should I just dump the files in the same folder and create two different projects ( a WAP and an MVC app) that reference the relevant files and folders required by each? This should work, but does anyone have a better idea? I need the ability to migrate small parts of the application individually as this will probably take a year or two to complete.

  Hi, I currently have a FileUpload.mxml component that uploads a .m4a to an oracle database, retrieves metadata from the file and saves the metadata info in the database. to acheive this I use FileReference() and set up, amoung others, the dispatcher.addEventListener(DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA, completeHandler); So the file is posted to a php file which saves it as a blob. Once the blob is saved, the script sends a message back to flex to dispatch the upload_complete_data event. In the complete handler, the metadata is then retreived by reading the value back from the database into a custom made meta data reader. The metadata info is then saved via flex. This seems a little long winded. Has anyone else successfully achieved this using a different way?

• How does one implement a truly asynchronous java thread

  I have a function that needs to perfom two operations, one which finishes fast and one which takes a long time to run. I want to be able to delegate the long running operation to a thread and I dont care when the thread finishes, but the threads needs to complete. I implemented this as shown below , but, my secondoperation never gets done as the function exits after the start() call.   I found this question, but the question is about how to get an image from the clip board into a wyziwyg editor! My question is "How can I paste an image from the clipboard into a field (what field is not that big issue as long as it works)", and then sent to the server. Jira has this functionality, so it should be possible! Any ideas on how to do this? Just to explain the complete workflow; I would like to have a plave to multi upload images, where the paste from clipboard also is an option. • how to deal with a static analyzer output

  We have started using a static analyzer (Coverity) on our code base. We were promptly stupefied by the sheer amount of warnings we received (its in the hundreds of thousands) , it will take the entire team a few mounts to clear them all (obliviously impossible). the options we discussed so far are 1) hire a contractor to sort out the warning and fix them - he drawback: we will probably need very experiences people to do all these modifications, and no contractor will have required understanding of the code. 2) filter out the warning and deal only with the dangerous ones - the problem here is that our static analysis output will always be cluttered by warning making it difficult for us to isolate problems. also the filtering of the warning is also a major effort. either way, bringing our code to a state when the static analyzer can be a useful tool for us seems a monumental task. so how is it possible to work with the static analyzer without braining current development efforts into a complete stand still?

  I have a table with ~800k rows. I ran an update users set hash = SHA1(CONCAT({about eight fields})) where 1; Now I have a hung Sequel Pro process and I'm not sure about the mysqld process. This is two questions: What harm can possibly come from killing these programs? I'm working on a separate database, so no damage should come to other databases on the system, right? Assume you had to update a table like this. What would be a quicker / more reliable method of updating without writing a separate script. I just checked with phpMyAdmin and it appears as though the query is complete. I still have Sequel Pro using 100% of both my cores though...

  I have a feature that gets installed using a WSP package, when the feature is activated, I would like the following to happen: The feature will contain a list definition. When the feature gets activated by an end user (the user physically clicks the feature activation button in site features admin) - I would like a modal dialog to appear then ask the user to provide some additional details. 3.1 The additional details will be supplying a certain number of names. For example Mary, John, Peter. Form logistics I can handle. Once the form is complete that information needs to somehow get back to the feature reciever, so that I can then take the base list definition, and use it as a template to create list instances for all the names supplied - so if user had supplied Mary and Peter, then 2 list instances will be created when this feature is activated. Is any of this possible with MOSS 2007? Thank you

  I want to write a SQL 2005 script to create a new login that uses Windows authentication. The Windows user is a local account (not a domain one). A local account with the same name exists on many SQL Server machines and I want to run the same script on all of them. It seemed simple enough: CREATE LOGIN [MyUser] FROM WINDOWS However, that doesn't work! SQL returns an error, saying Give the complete name: <domain\username>. Of course, I can do that for one machine and it works, but the same script will not work on other machines.

  I’m looking to create a web page with 6 coupons on it, two per line in a web space of 1275 X 1650. Each coupon space will consist of a different image. The problem is I will be creating 20 such web pages that will have these coupons on them. Now some of the same images will appear in different locations/positions on the various web pages. Is there a way to update the same image that appear in different locations/positions at the same time? And what language is used to complete this? I’ve tried CSS but it don’t think it’s possible. So should I be using JavaScript.

  I need to copy the item that user just added (for example. myresume.doc or financial.xls) with the metadata (doc lib obtains the columns from content type, ct obtains the columns from site colum) and copy the item with metadata in a folder called "NativeFile". Every doc library has this folder. I know itemadded can be used but then I heard itemadded fires before user have a chance to complete the metadata for the item they just added. What are my options? • Highlight polygon and tint rest of map using Google Maps

  Hi, I'd like to display a highlighted polygon using Google Maps. The idea is that the polygon in question would be displayed normally and the rest of the map should be darkened a little bit. Here's an example image what I would like to accomplish with a polygon from Austria: Unfortunately, I'm a complete rookie when it comes to Google Maps API's and map stuff in general. So, is this even possible do this with Google Map API's? If yes, with what version (v2, v3)? Would it be easier to do it with other map toolkits, like openlayers? PS: One idea I had, was to build an inverse polygon (in this example, the whole world minus the shape of austria) and then display a black colored overlay with transparency using this inverted polygon. But that seems to be quite complicated to me.

• TFS: Managing assembly version number?

  Hello, any good approach for managing assembly version numbers in TFS, possibly together with using the same number for the build number? I would be most interested in an approach that: Maintains the first three elements of the version Counts the rest upward for every "official" build (i.e. a build originating from certain templates only - no need to count up for something like a gated checkin, but the following regular integration build SHOULD count up. Labels the builds, so that a manual "release" build can be triggered. Any solution? How are other people handling this? Right now the (new) TFS is happily building with the same assembly version all around ;) Something coding the complete assembly version with date etc. is not acceptable - I want that number to "follow rules", and having the date in there is not one of them ;)

• Google Visualization Annotated Time Line, removing data points.

  I am trying to build a graph that will change resolution depending on how far you are zoomed in. Here is what it looks like when you are complete zoomed out. So this looks good so when I zoom in I get a higher resolution data and my graph looks like this: The problem is when I zoom out the higher resolution data does not get cleared out of the graph: The tables below the graphs are table display what is in the DataTable.   So, I set the closing function for simple modal as follows: $.modal.defaults.onClose = function (dialog) { $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); dialog.data.fadeOut('slow', function () {}); dialog.container.fadeOut('slow', function () {}); dialog.overlay.fadeOut('slow', function () { $.modal.close(); }); } The line where the validationengine closes prompts basically just makes some divs disappear. The problem is that I don't want things to start fading out until closePrompt() is complete. Is there a way to do that? Is the only way with a "callback"? I don't think it has that built in to the function. Any other way to do it?

  I'm have a problem sending data as a file from one end of a socket to the other. What's happening is that both the server and client are trying to read the file so the file never gets sent. I was wondering how to have the client block until the server's completed reading the file sent from the client. I have this working with raw packets using send and recv, but figured this was a cleaner solution... Client: connects to server creating socket connection creates a file on socket and sends data waits for file from server Server: waits for file from client Complete interraction: client sends data to server server sends data to client

  Hi All, Recently I went to an interview for a C development position. Instead of asking me questions, they just gave me 20 code snippets to find out two logical errors on each one. I just couldn't complete all of the 20 since it took me time to go through each of these code snippets. My question is: Is this the right way to judge a candidate? If yes, how can I improve over my error detection skills so that I don't need to waste a lot of time in the next interview? • Java Non-Blocking HTTP Server

  I have written an application using embedded Jetty that makes network calls to other services. I presume that the serving threads are idle whilst waiting for the network calls to complete. Is there any way to have a worker thread that switches between requests to perform work that can be done at the current time and then when the network calls return also handle that? A request would be returned when all work has been completed for it. I know this is a common paradigm, and I have used it for non-blocking TCP networking, but I'm unsure as to how to achieve this on a Java HTTP server whilst also waiting on external results. • Deciphering a queer compiler warning about unsigned decimal constant

  This large application has a memory pool library which uses a treap internally to store nodes of memory. The treap is implemented using cpp macros, and the complete file trp.h can be found here. I get the following compiler warning when I attempt to compile the application: warning: this decimal constant is unsigned only in ISO C90 By deleting portions of the macro code and using trial-and-error, I finally found the culprit: #define trp_prio_get(a_type, a_field, a_node) \ (2654435761*(uint32_t)(uintptr_t)(a_node)) I'm not sure what that strange number is doing there, but I assume it's there for a good reason, so I just want to leave it alone. I do want to fix the warning though- any idea why the compiler's saying that it's unsigned only in ISO C90? EDIT: I'm using gcc-4.1

  I have hit a real problem. I need to do some Kmeans clustering for 5 million vectors, each containing about 32 cols. I tried out Mahout which requires linux and I am on windows, I am restrained from using a Linux OS and any sort of simulator. Can anyone suggest a KMeans clustering algorithm that is scalable upto 5M vectors and can converge quickly? I have tested a few but they wont scale. Which means they are slow and take forever to complete. Thanks

• SQL Query - 20mil records - Best practice to return information

  I have a SQL database that has the following table: Table: PhoneRecords ID(identity Seed) FirstName LastName PhoneNumber ZipCode Very simple straight forward table. This table has over 20million records. I am looking for the best way to do queries that pull out records based off area codes from the table. For instance here is an example query that I have done. SELECT phonenumber, firstname FROM [PhoneRecords] WHERE (phone LIKE '2012042%') OR (phone LIKE '2012046%') OR (phone LIKE '2012047%') OR (phone LIKE '2012083%') OR (phone LIKE '2012088%') OR (phone LIKE '2012841%') As you can see this is an ugly query, but it would get the job done (if I wasn't running into timeout issues) Can anyone tell me the best way for speed/optimization to do the above query to display the results? Currently that query above takes around 2 hours to complete on a 9gb 1600mhz ram, i7 930 quadcore OC'd 4.01ghz. I obviously have the computer power required to do such a query, but still takes too long for queries.
