• How to redirect every uri calls to one controller, except some static ones?

  Hey, Im using codeigniter and want to make my portal a bit more seo friendly. I have a controller (articles) witch handles every article, on my portal. The URL looks like this: example.com/articles/category-sub-category/article-name I'm using mod rewrite module to hide my index.php, and codeigniter routing to hide the controller action that handles every call. I want to hide articles too, but if i hide it, every call goes to the articles controller, and thats not what i want, because i want my url look like this: example.com/category-sub-category/article-name Ive tried it with regexp routing rules in the routes.php but i found no way to make it right.

Sales" End If Basically what is happening is, if a certain radio button is selected and the user didn't click the checkbox the default regions are included and they are hardcoded because the query runs much faster. if the user did click the checkbox then the textbox where they type the specific regions shows up and it will run the query that includes the dbo.B605SaleAsOfAdvancedMaster.SDESCR in (" & TextBox1.Text & ") If you can somehow do this using parameters and not with the textbox1.text in the query it will run much faster for me thanks for your help

• Retrieving Gtk::Widget's relative position: get_allocation() doesn't work

  I need to retrieve the position of a Gtk::Widget relative to its parent, a Gtk::Table. Most sources (e.g. http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk-faq/stable/x642.html) say that one needs to call Gtk::Widget::get_allocation(). However, the returned Gtk::Allocation object always contains x = -1, y = -1, width = 1, height = 1. I have to note that this happens before the Gtk::Table object is actually exposed and rendered. A call to show_all_children() or check_resize(), which I would expect to recalculate child widget geometry, doesn't help. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

• Delphi Compiler Directive to Evaluate Arguments in Reverse

  I was really impressed with this delphi two liner using the IFThen function from Math.pas. However, it evaluates the DB.ReturnFieldI first, which is unfortunate because I need to call DB.first to get the first record. DB.RunQuery('select awesomedata1 from awesometable where awesometableid = "great"'); result := IfThen(DB.First = 0, DB.ReturnFieldI('awesomedata1')); Obviously this isn't such a big deal, as I could make it work with five robust liners. But all I need for this to work is for Delphi to evaluate DB.first first and DB.ReturnFieldI second. I don't want to change math.pas and I don't think this warrants me making a overloaded ifthen because there's like 16 ifthen functions. Just let me know what the compiler directive is, if there is an even better way to do this, or if there is no way to do this and anyone whose procedure is to call db.first and blindly retrieve the first thing he finds is not a real programmer.

  I am writing a socket server that will implement small portions of the HTTP and the WebSocket protocol, and I'm wondering what I need to take into consideration in order to make it robust/secure. This is my first time writing a socket-based application so please excuse me if any of my questions are particularly naive. Here goes: Is it wrong to assume that you've received an entire HTTP request (WebSocket request, etc) if you've read all data available from the socket? Likewise, is it wrong to assume you've only received one request? Is TCP responsible for making sure I'm getting the "message" all at once as sent by the client? Or do I have to manually detect the beginning and end of each "message" for whatever protocol I'm implementing? Regarding security: What, in general, should I be aware of? Are there any common pitfalls when implementing something like this? As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

  Here is my preload script: <script type="text/javascript"> Image_1 = new Image(1,1); Image_1.src = "images/sprites.png"; </script> And it works fine. I can see in the headers the image loading. Here's my question. Even though I have preloaded sprites.png, I notice that when I go to a page on my site that simply displays that entire image, the headers tell me my browser is requesting the server to send the image again. I'm hoping to not sound too naive. But, why would the browser request the image when I preloaded it earlier? Are there other reasons the browser would need to re-request? Also, I put the dimensions as Image(1,1). Sometimes I don't know the dimensions, as that image gets updated from time to time. Maybe that's a reason?

  I have a form with TextBox and two Buttons. One button has IsDefault property set to true, and IsCancel set to true for other button. TextBox is CommandTarget for both buttons. When I'm pressing Enter or ESC keys on TextBox, it works as I'm pressing on corresponding button. I want to remove buttons from the form. They should not be visible, but the textbox should react on Enter or ESC as before. I cannot just set button's Visible property to collapsed - in this case they does not work at all. And I prefer to avoid of tracking keyboard events. Is it possible?

• How to pass data to another droid device when the other device isn't expecting it

  I am working on an application and one feature that would make it really useful is the ability to share some information, but the other device may not be expecting the data to be sent. For example, if I am reading a really good book, and I realize that a friend may like it, I could use an application to send the data to him, so he could order the book from Amazon. But, since he isn't expecting the data, I would hate for the application to be polling a server every so often, as that will be needlessly draining the battery. Ideally it would be great if there was a way to make a phone call to the target device, send a data packet and end the call. If it could be done and prevent the phone from ringing, then it would be very useful to me. I am curious if there is some way to send data between devices without polling.

My learning has been rather messy, so I hope you'll excuse me for this if it's really simple. If n = 0, you should collect the email addresses but no recursive calls should be made. The parameter n is used to limit the recursion to at most depth n. You will need to use the solutions of the two above problems; you method spam() will call the methods links2() and emails() and possibly other functions as well. Notes: 1. running spam() directly will produce no output on the screen; to find your spam_dict, you will need to read the value of spam_dict, and you will also need to reset it to the empty dictionary before every run of spam. 2. Recall how global variables are used.   I use $.(ajax) function extensively in my app to call ASP.net web services. I would like to write a wrapper in order to centralize all the ajax calls. • Not able to show video with html5

  I am testing html 5 video tag. I am using http://www.kaltura.org/project/HTML5_Video_Media_JavaScript_Library and http://camendesign.co.uk/. I downloaded the creative common video. When I use an external link, it plays the video. So I uploaded the video to my server but it does not play. It asks if I want to save it or asking an application to play. When I go to the external link, http://cdn.kaltura.org/apis/html5lib/kplayer-examples/media/bbb400p.ogv, it plays it on the browser automatically. I also tested locally, but it does not play either. I am hoping someone gives me why and how to solve the problem.   This might seem like a stupid easy question to some of you, but i'm new to jquery and can't get my datepicker to work like it should. This is my textbox where the datepicker is attached to: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="StartMonth" AutoPostBack="true" class="month-picker" /> and here is how i attach the datepicker. (I have multiple TextBoxes where the datepicker should be attached to, so i used the class attribute instead of the id.) $(".month-picker").datepicker({ dateFormat: 'MM yy', changeYear: true, yearRange: '-9:+9' }); What i want to archive is when i click into the textbox where the text is "August 2012" it should set the pre-selected date of the datepicker to this date.   Here is a test framework to show what I am doing: create a new project add a tabbed control on tab 1 put a button on tab 2 put a check box paste this code for its code (use default names for controls) public partial class Form1 : Form { private List<bool> boolList = new List<bool>(); BindingSource bs = new BindingSource(); public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); boolList.Add(false); bs.DataSource = boolList; checkBox1.DataBindings.Add("Checked", bs, ""); this.button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click); this.checkBox1.CheckedChanged += new System.EventHandler(this.checkBox1_CheckedChanged); } bool updating = false; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { updating = true; boolList[0] = true; bs.ResetBindings(false); Application.DoEvents(); updating = false; } private void checkBox1_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!updating) MessageBox.Show("CheckChanged fired outside of updating"); } } The issue is if you run the program and look at tab 2 then press the button on tab 1 the program works as expected, however if you press the button on tab 1 then look at tab 2 the event for the checkbox will not fire untill you look at tab 2. The reason for this is the controll on tab 2 is not in the "created" state, so its binding to change the checkbox from unchecked to checked does not happen until after the control has been "Created". checkbox1.CreateControl() does not do anything because according to MSDN CreateControl does not create a control handle if the control's Visible property is false. You can either call the CreateHandle method or access the Handle property to create the control's handle regardless of the control's visibility, but in this case, no window handles are created for the control's children. I tried getting the value of Handle(there is no public CreateHandle() for CheckBox) but still the same result. Any suggestions other than have the program quickly flash all of my tabs that have data-bound check boxes when it first loads? EDIT-- per Jaxidian's suggestion I created a new class public class newcheckbox : CheckBox { public new void CreateHandle() { base.CreateHandle(); } } I call CreateHandle() right after updating = true same results as before.

• -sizeWithFont Functions Differently on Device

  So I am seemingly encountering some strange behavior when using NSString's -sizeWithFont family of method calls depending on whether or not I'm invoking it on the iPhone Simulator or an actual device. Simply enough, when the receiver of the -sizeWithFont method call is nil, the resulting CGSize passed back on the Simulator is {0, 0}. However, on the device, it is the size of the bounding rectangle I specified in the method call. See the following log statements: Simulator: someString: (null) someStringSize: {0, 0} Device: someString: (null) someStringSize: {185, 3.40282e+38} The behavior on the Simulator is what I would expect. Not that this issue is difficult to circumvent, but 1) I'm a little confused why this family of functions would behave differently on the Simulator and an actual device, and 2) why does calling a method on a nil receiving return a particular result? Thanks for any pointers or insight you guys can provide! EDIT: I suppose I should mention that I'm building against the 3.1 SDK.

• Are Sphinx & thinking_sphinx really stable? Not indexing Columns

  I'm encountering strange behaviour from thinking_sphinx/sphinx. My define_index block is about 100 lines, so quite a lot of columns i'm indexing. For full-text searching I only need about 10 attributes, for sorting and filtering I have another approximately 50 columns, mostly floats and integers. By filtering I mean using the "with" or "without" options. Searching does not really work consistently. All of a sudden, one attribute fails to filter. Or if I add a new one, it does not work. Only after a lot of tinkering it suddenly starts working. I cannot really reproduce it. Steps I that sometimes lead me to success where: rm -rf db/sphinx change the attribute definition e.g. has some_attribute = has some_attribute, :sortable = true or = has some_attribute, :sortable = true, :as = "some_attribute" restarting the server assigning a new :as name = has some_attribute, :as = "some_attribute_new" (yes, I did rake ts:rebuild or rake ts:in after every step) Does anybody else encounter similar problems?

  If I am serializing and later deserializing a class using DataContractSerializer how can I control the initial values of properties that were not serialized? Consider the Person class below. Its data contract is set to serialize the FirstName and LastName properties but not the IsNew property. I want IsNew to initialize to TRUE whether a new Person is being instantiate as a new instance or being deserialized from a file. This is easy to do through the constructor, but as I understand it DataContractSerializer does not call the constructor as they could require parameters.
