  • Creating a QuerySet based on a ManyToManyField in Django

    - by River Tam
    So I've got two classes; Picture and Tag that are as follows: class Tag(models.Model): pics = models.ManyToManyField('Picture', blank=True) name = models.CharField(max_length=30) # stuff omitted class Picture(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) pub_date = models.DateTimeField('date published') tags = models.ManyToManyField('Tag', blank=True) content = models.ImageField(upload_to='instaton') #stuff omitted And what I'd like to do is get a queryset (for a ListView) given a tag name that contains the most recent X number of Pictures that are tagged as such. I've looked up very similar problems, but none of the responses make any sense to me at all. How would I go about creating this queryset?

  • jQuery ready function

    - by Darren Tarrant
    Can anyone tell me why the document ready function needs a call to function first please? I've been told that the setTimeout in the first below example (which does not work) would be evaluated and passed to ready, but I don't see what the difference would be for the function call in the second example (which works)? $(document).ready( setTimeout( function(){ $('#set_3').innerfade({ animationtype: 'fade', speed: 'slow', timeout: 3000, type: 'sequence', containerheight: '180' }); }, 2000); ); $(document).ready( function(){ setTimeout( function(){ $('#set_3').innerfade({ animationtype: 'fade', speed: 'slow', timeout: 3000, type: 'sequence', containerheight: '180' }); }, 2000); } );

  • Calling Facebook API without authenticating user/"connecting"

    - by Andy
    Hi, I am working with facebook's API and I want to call the links.prevew method. http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Links.preview Is it possible to call this method without having my user authenticate or "connect"? For example, not all of my users have hooked up their facebook accounts to my website, but I still want to use this API method. I am getting the following error: Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: 453: A session key is required for calling this method thrown in /public_html/libs/facebook.php on line 413 But on the wiki it says that the method does not require a session key? If it is not possible to make API calls without such a key, is there anyway I can make calls on behalf of my account or my applications account (rather then a users account)? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • DJ JWebBrowser: how to show but disable Address and Button bars?

    - by Nikolay Kuznetsov
    I am using chrriis.dj.nativeswing.swtimpl.components.JWebBrowser in my swing application to open web page. The page is going to show "Facebook Authentication" page and I want to prevent user from inputting some other URL other than I specify and also Forward and Back buttons should be visible but not has no affect. So following functions are applicable for my goal setButtonBarVisible(true); setLocationBarVisible(true); Once user completes the authentication I will handle the locationChanged event. @Override public void locationChanged(WebBrowserNavigationEvent arg0) { System.out.println("locationChanged!"); .... } }

  • python duration of a file object in an argument list

    - by msw
    In the pickle module documentation there is a snippet of example code: reader = pickle.load(open('save.p', 'rb')) which upon first read looked like it would allocate a system file descriptor, read its contents and then "leak" the open descriptor for there isn't any handle accessible to call close() upon. This got me wondering if there was any hidden magic that takes care of this case. Diving into the source, I found in Modules/_fileio.c that file descriptors are closed by the fileio_dealloc() destructor which led to the real question. What is the duration of the file object returned by the example code above? After that statement executes does the object indeed become unreferenced and therefore will the fd be subject to a real close(2) call at some future garbage collection sweep? If so, is the example line good practice, or should one not count on the fd being released thus risking kernel per-process descriptor table exhaustion?

  • Copied App.config to (Assembly).exe.config but from folder debug application doesn't run

    - by uugan
    Gives error: "The specified named connection is either not found in the configuration, not intended to be used with the EntityClient provider, or not valid" App.config looks like and it's same as (Assembly.exe.config) config file for output: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <connectionStrings> <add name="Entities1" connectionString="metadata=res://*/;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string='data source=localhost;initial catalog=DatabaseName;integrated security=True;multipleactiveresultsets=True;App=EntityFramework'" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" /> </connectionStrings> </configuration> How to run exe with it's configuration file? I tried to change '' to quot but nothing has changed.

  • Converting Json to Java

    - by Binaryrespawn
    Hi all, I want to be able to access properties from a json string within my java action method. The string is available by simply saying myJsonString = object.getJson(); Below is an example of what the string can look like: {'title': 'Computing and Information systems','id':1,'children': 'true','groups': [{'title': 'Level one CIS','id':2,'children': 'true','groups':[{'title': 'Intro To Computing and Internet','id':3,'children': 'false','groups':[]}]}]} In this string every json object contains an array of other json objects. The intention is to extract a list of id's where any given object possessing a group property that contains other json objects. I looked at google's Gson as a potential json plugin. Can anyone offer some form of guidance as to how I can generate java from this json string? Thank you, Kind regards.

  • Ruby - Possible to pass a block as a param as an actual block to another function?

    - by Markus O'Reilly
    This is what I'm trying to do: def call_block(in_class = "String", &block) instance = eval("#{in_class}.new") puts "instance class: #{instance.class}" instance.instance_eval{ block.call } end # --- TEST EXAMPLE --- # This outputs "class: String" every time "sdlkfj".instance_eval { puts "class: #{self.class}" } # This will only output "class: Object" every time # I'm trying to get this to output "class: String" though call_block("String") { puts "class: #{self.class}" } On the line where it says "instance.instance_eval{ block.call }", I'm trying to find another way to make the new instance variable run instance eval on the block. The only way I can think of to get it to do that is to pass instance_eval the original block, not as a variable or anything, but as a real block like in the test example. Any tips?

  • [Gdata] GetAuthSubToken returns None

    - by Matt
    Hey guys, I am a little lost on how to get the auth token. Here is the code I am using on the return from authorizing my app: client = gdata.service.GDataService() gdata.alt.appengine.run_on_appengine(client) sessionToken = gdata.auth.extract_auth_sub_token_from_url(self.request.uri) client.UpgradeToSessionToken(sessionToken) logging.info(client.GetAuthSubToken()) what gets logged is "None" so that does seem right :-( if I use this: temp = client.upgrade_to_session_token(sessionToken) logging.info(dump(temp)) I get this: {'scopes': ['http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/'], 'auth_header': 'AuthSub token=CNKe7drpFRDzp8uVARjD-s-wAg'} so I can see that I am getting a AuthSub Token and I guess I could just parse that and grab the token but that doesn't seem like the way things should work. If I try to use AuthSubTokenInfo I get this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Applications/GoogleAppEngineLauncher.app/Contents/Resources/GoogleAppEngine-default.bundle/Contents/Resources/google_appengine/google/appengine/ext/webapp/__init__.py", line 507, in __call__ handler.get(*groups) File "controllers/indexController.py", line 47, in get logging.info(client.AuthSubTokenInfo()) File "/Users/matthusby/Dropbox/appengine/projects/FBCal/gdata/service.py", line 938, in AuthSubTokenInfo token = self.token_store.find_token(scopes[0]) TypeError: 'NoneType' object is unsubscriptable so it looks like my token_store is not getting filled in correctly, is that something I should be doing? Also I am using gdata 2.0.9 Thanks Matt

  • UITableViewCell is 1px shorter in didSelectRowAtIndexPath than cellForRowAtIndexPath

    - by Calvin L
    I have a UITableViewCell that I create in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:. In that method I call: UITableViewCell *cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:nil] autorelease]; NSLog(@"Cell height: %f", cell.contentView.frame.size.height); This gives me a return value of 44.000000. Then in my tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: method, I call: UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath: indexPath]; NSLog(@"Cell height: %f", cell.contentView.frame.size.height); And this gives me a return value of 43.000000. Aren't they the same cell? What gives?

  • Does <httpRedirect> in web.config work in a mono setup? Or is it IIS7 specific?

    - by Crystal
    We had some content restructure recently and I'd like to put in some redirect rules into web.config so bookmarks to the old pages can get routed to their new locations/pages. I tried using this approach: <location path="~/product/productA.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="~/product/category/productA.aspx" exactDestination="false" childOnly="true" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> But all I'm getting when I go to "http://www.oursite.com/product/productA.aspx" is our http 404 page. Am I doing something wrong, or is the httpRedirect tag in web.config not supported in mono? worked, but not ideal for what we want to achieve. Thank you :)

  • How do I make a SignalR client something when it receives a message?

    - by Ben
    I want to do something when a client receives a message via a SignalR hub. I've put together a basic chat app, but want people to be able to "like" a chat comment. I'm thinking the way to do this is to find the chat message on the client's page and update it using javascript. In the meantime to "prove the concept" I just want to make an alert popup on the client machine to say another user likes the comment. Trouble is, I'm not sure where to put it. (Am struggling to find SignalR documentation to be honest.) can't get my head round what is calling what here. My ChatHub class is as follows: public class ChatHub : Hub { public void Send(string name, string message) { // Call the broadcastMessage method to update clients. Clients.All.broadcastMessage(name, message); } } And my JavaScript is: $(function () { // Declare a proxy to reference the hub. var chat = $.connection.chatHub; // Create a function that the hub can call to broadcast messages. chat.client.broadcastMessage = function (name, message) { // Html encode display name and message. var encodedName = $('<div />').text(name).html(); var encodedMsg = $('<div />').text(message).html(); // Add the message to the page. var divContent = $('#discussion').html(); $('#discussion').html('<div class="container">' + '<div class="content">' + '<p class="username">' + encodedName + '</p>' + '<p class="message">' + encodedMsg + '</p>' + '</div>' + '<div class="slideout">' + '<div class="clickme" onclick="slideMenu(this)"></div>' + '<div class="slidebutton"><img id="imgid" onclick="likeButtonClick(this)" src="Images/like.png" /></div>' + '<div class="slidebutton"><img onclick="commentButtonClick(this)" src="Images/comment.png" /></div>' + '<div class="slidebutton" style="margin-right:0px"><img onclick="redcardButtonClick(this)" src="Images/redcard.png" /></div>' + '</div>' + '</div>' + divContent); }; // Set initial focus to message input box. $('#message').focus(); // Start the connection. $.connection.hub.start().done(function () { $('#sendmessage').click(function () { // Call the Send method on the hub. chat.server.send($('#lblUser').html(), $('#message').val()); // Clear text box and reset focus for next comment. $('#message').val('').focus(); }); });

  • Isssue with ColorBox jQuery plugin

    - by RyanP13
    Hi, I am using this plugin for my new site: http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/ The page in concern has two hyper links which are of the same class: a.emailQuote These both should open the same colorbox window which is done by the following code: $("a.emailQuote").colorbox({ transistion:"fade", title:true, iframe:true, scrolling:false, close:"Close this window", innerWidth:478, innerHeight:507, initialWidth:478, initialHeight:507 }); however when the colorbox window opens it seems to register that there are two windows so displays the previous, next arrows and the text that says this is image one of two. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this without hiding these elements with CSS.

  • MVC DateTime binding with incorrect date format

    - by Sam Wessel
    Asp.net-MVC now allows for implicit binding of DateTime objects. I have an action along the lines of public ActionResult DoSomething(DateTime startDate) { ... } This successfully converts a string from an ajax call into a DateTime. However, we use the date format dd/MM/yyyy; MVC is converting to MM/dd/yyyy. For example, submitting a call to the action with a string '09/02/2009' results in a DateTime of '02/09/2009 00:00:00', or September 2nd in our local settings. I don't want to roll my own model binder for the sake of a date format. But it seems needless to have to change the action to accept a string and then use DateTime.Parse if MVC is capable of doing this for me. Is there any way to alter the date format used in the default model binder for DateTime? Shouldn't the default model binder use your localisation settings anyway?

  • Route alias, is it possible?

    - by benoror
    I have a Vehicle model: map.resources :vehicles, :has_many => :suppliers Everything works great, but Vehicle has a boolean attribute is_truck. I want to make an Alias so I can get the same resources but with the "truck" word, I tried with: map.trucks '/trucks', :controller => :vehicles, :action => :index, :is_truck => true map.trucks '/trucks/by_supplier/:supplier', :controller => :vehicles, :action => :index, :is_truck => true The first one works well, but when I search within a Form the second doesn't work and searches all suppliers. Is it possible to map.resources for an alias ?

  • Workflow 4.0 code activities calling other activites (persist, delay etc)

    - by Lygpt
    I have a bunch of Workflow foundation 4.0 RC code activities that consume web services and talk to databases that I want to add some error handling in. I would really like to be able to attempt to call my web service / db, catch any faults such as a communication failure and then retry the same operation in 1 hours time (after I have logged the exception). Is there a way of doing something like this? protected override void Execute(CodeActivityContext context) { Persist(); // I would like to invoke the persist activity like this if (!AttemptServiceCall()) { // I would like to invoke a delay activity like this Delay(new TimeSpan(0, 30, 0)); // wait 30 mins before trying again Execute(context); // call this activity again } } private bool AttemptServiceCall() { bool serviceCallSuccessful = true; try { myService.InvokeSomeMethod(); } catch (CommunicationException ex) { myEventLogger.Log(ex); serviceCallSuccessful = false; } return serviceCallSuccessful; }

  • fd.seek() IOError: [Errno 22] Invalid argument

    - by Julian Kessel
    My Python Interpreter (v2.6.5) raises the above error in the following codepart: fd = open("some_filename", "r") fd.seek(-2, os.SEEK_END) #same happens if you exchange the second arg. w/ 2 data=fd.read(2); last call is fd.seek() Traceback (most recent call last): File "bot.py", line 250, in <module> fd.seek(iterator, os.SEEK_END); IOError: [Errno 22] Invalid argument The strange thing with this is that the exception occurs just when executing my entire code, not if only the specific part with the file opening. At the runtime of this part of code, the opened file definitely exists, disk is not full, the variable "iterator" contains a correct value like in the first codeblock. What could be my mistake? Thanks in advance

  • How to create a function with vectors and vertical asymptote using MATLAB

    - by Pedro J Trinidad
    Plot the function f(x) = 1.5x / x-4 for -10 equal or less than X equal or less than 10. Notice that the function have a vertical asymptote at x = 4. Plot the function by creating two vectors for the domain of x. The first vector (call it x1) with elements from -10 to 3.7, and the second vector (calle it x2) with elements from 4.3 to 10. For each of the X vector create a Y vector (call them y1 and y2) with the corresponding values of Y according to the function. To plot the function make two curves in the same plot (y1 vs. x1 and y2 vs. x2).

  • Cross field validation in jsf h:datatable using p:calendar

    - by Matt Broekhuis
    I noticed this question was asked, but it has not been answered correctly. I have a datatable that has two columns start date and end date. Both contain primefaces p:calendar controls in them. I need to ensure that for each row that the date in column1 is not after the date in column2. I would like to tie this into the JSF validation framework, but I'm having trouble. i've tried marking the datatable rowStatePreserved="true" , this allows me to get the values, but something is still wrong as when it fails, all the values in the first row overwrite all the other values. What am I doing wrong, or should I be using a completely different strategy? xhtml code <h:form> <f:event type="postValidate" listener="#{bean.doCrossFieldValidation}"/> <p:dataTable id="eventDaysTable" value="#{course.courseSchedules}" var="_eventDay" styleClass="compactDataTable" > <p:column id="eventDayStartColumn"> <f:facet name="header"> Start </f:facet> <p:calendar id="startDate" required="true" value="#{_eventDay.startTime}" pattern="MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm a"/> </p:column> <p:column id="eventDayEndColumn"> <f:facet name="header"> End </f:facet> <p:calendar id="endDate" required="true" value="#{_eventDay.endTime}" pattern="MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm a"/> </p:column> </p:dataTable> </h:form> validationCode public void doCrossFieldValidation(ComponentSystemEvent cse) { UIData eventsDaysStable = (UIData) cse.getComponent().findComponent("eventDaysTable"); if (null != eventsDaysStable && eventsDaysStable.isRendered()) { Iterator<UIComponent> startDateCalendarIterator = eventsDaysStable.findComponent("eventDayStartColumn").getChildren().iterator(); Iterator<UIComponent> endDateCalendarIterator = eventsDaysStable.findComponent("eventDayEndColumn").getChildren().iterator(); while (startDateCalendarIterator.hasNext() && endDateCalendarIterator.hasNext()) { org.primefaces.component.calendar.Calendar startDateComponent = (org.primefaces.component.calendar.Calendar) startDateCalendarIterator.next(); org.primefaces.component.calendar.Calendar endDateComponent = (org.primefaces.component.calendar.Calendar) endDateCalendarIterator.next(); Date startDate = (Date) startDateComponent.getValue(); Date endDate = (Date) endDateComponent.getValue(); if (null != startDate && null != endDate && startDate.after(endDate)) { eventScheduleChronologyOk = false; startDateComponent.setValid(false); endDateComponent.setValid(false); } } if (!eventScheduleChronologyOk) { showErrorMessage(ProductManagementMessage.PRODUCT_SCHEDULE_OUT_OF_ORDER); } } }

  • How to fetch output when calling R using Qprocess or system

    - by SYK
    Hi Experts, I would like to execute a R script simply as R --file=x.R It runs well on the command line. However when I try the system call in C++ by QProcess::execute("R --file=x.R"); or system("R --file=x.R"); the program R runs and quits but I can't see the output the program is supposed to generate. If a program uses no stdout (such as R), how do I fetch the output after a system call either as a output file or in the program's own console? Thanks for your time.

  • how to write barcode in html format when using tcpdf

    - by JewelThief
    I am using TCPDF to generate PDF file using following command $pdf-writeHTML($htmlcontent, true, 0, true, 0); TCPDF also provides a way to create barcode with following commands $pdf-Cell(0, 0, 'C39+', 0, 1); $pdf-write1DBarcode('Code 39', 'C39+', '', '', 80, 15, 0.4, $style, 'N'); $pdf-Ln(); I want to be able to write barcode as part of the HTML code above. Is there easy way? I can potentially call a barcode image inthe writeHTML code above, but not sure how to use above barcode function ( or any in TCPDF) which would allow me to create image and then get that image into HTML generation

  • Using HTTP Vary header to decide on a strategy to process a request

    - by Jacques René Mesrine
    I have a specific REST endpoint that creates a topic in a forum; but I want to apply different strategies when processing the request. e.g. If client A makes the call, perform moderation. if client B makes the call, do something else. The easiest would be to add a query param for differentiation: POST /resource?from=xyz Another brilliant idea is to use the Vary HTTP header. POST /resource Vary: xyz Any problems with this approach ?

  • Is System.AddIn mostly about making it easier to use Remoting or does it make it harder to do so?

    - by MatthewMartin
    It takes at least 7 assemblies and restricting my AddIn's data model to data types that remoting can deal with before the appdomain isolation features begin to work. It is so complex! The System.AddIn teams blog implies to me they were trying to re-create a mental model of COM, a model I never understood very well in the first place and am not sold on the benefits. (If COM is so good why's it dead?-rhetorical question.) If I don't need to mirror or interop with legacy COM (like VSTO does using System.AddIn), is it possible to just create some classes that load load in a new AppDomain? I can write the discovery code my self, I've done it before and a naive implementation is pretty fast because I'm not like iterating over the assemblies in the GAC! So my specific question is, can I get the AppDomain isolation that AddIns provide with a few code Remoting snippets, and what would those be?
