• How do I overlay an icon/image onto another image on form submission?

  So I am trying to add an icon to an image, once someone has 'tagged' a portion of the image - i.e. they have submitted the form. How do I do that in jQuery? Just to be clear...imagine you are on flickr and you see an image. You want to add an annotation, you click on the image where you want, and it shows you a form field. You enter the information you want to, then after you have done so, there is a small image left on top of the picture that shows where you have left a comment. Any ideas?

• Syntax error converting the nvarchar value to a column of data type int.

  I have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 stored as nvarchar inside Level in my db. I then have a dropdownlist with values 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. When a user makes a selection (i.e 1) (Level.SelectedValue.ToString). This builds an sql query via a param like this: "Select things From MBA_EOI Where level = 1" When I run the select I get the following error: Syntax error converting the nvarchar value '1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9' to a column of data type int. I was under the impression that I was dealing with an Nvarchar field and the selected value as string, where does the int conversion come in? p.s I have also tried Level.SelectedItem.ToString

  I'm using Rails 2.3.5 and have a nested structure as follows: Lists has_many Items Items_Features has_many Features Items_Features has_many Items Items_Features has a text field to hold the value of the feature Then I have a nested form with partials to update and display this so that it updates Lists, Items and Items_Features What I want to do is generate input fields for each of the rows in features so that the user can fill in a value and it gets inserted/updated in items_features. I also want a label next to the box to display the feature name. • CakePHP: Same model, set up per form validation rules?

  I have a single model in CakePHP that has multiple forms on different pages of the site that I would like to validate differently even where the field name is the same - I have discovered that you can set 'on' to create|update which has been a handy discovery but I am wondering if there is any other way of explicitly declaring rules based on the form that was submitted? Just to rephrase for clarity, form a and form b contain fields of the same name, but if form a is submitted the fields in question should be validated differently than if they were submitted from form b. Possible?

Some requirements: Output this using something like JQuery Menu to get an interactive tree Filter the nodes by cck type Filter the nodes by cck field Only have terms with nodes or other active terms in them show up Mark the current node as such, and automatically open the tree to that point Do I have to write this myself, or are there a combination of modules that can do it? I've got Advanced Taxonomy Blocks, which is pretty close, but it doesn't list the nodes.

  I suppose similar problem would have been discussed here, but I couldn't find it. Let's suppose I have an Editor and a Supervisor. I want the Editor to be able to add new content (eg. a news post) but before publication it has to be acknowledged by Supervisor. When Editor lists all items, I want to set some fields on the models (like an 'ack' field) as read-only (so he could know what had been ack'ed and what's still waiting approval) but the Supervisor should be able to change everything (list_editable would be perfect) What are the possible solutions to this problem?

  I want to retrieve the most recently added record from CoreData. I was wondering if that's possible using NSPredicate? If so, how? e.g. i have a one-to-many relationship between Department and Staff, and i want to fetch the Staff record that was most recently employed. The Staff table has a date field which can be used. I don't want to fetch all the Staff records and then look for the right one. Note that CoreData stores the related records in an NSSet.

• Xcode 4: deleting items in Build Settings

  In XCode 4.0 there's a newly designed Build Settings page. My problem is that I can't see how to remove a setting once I've specified it. Example: I've changed "Versioning System" to "Apple Generic" at the target level. Afterwards I realised I should set it at the project level, and so I want to delete the target level setting. However, there's no way I can see to remove the setting -- you click on it and there's two options, neither of which is the default "not specified" empty setting. Hitting the delete key on the keyboard nothing. The same goes for fields that accept text -- if I try to delete a setting by just deleting all the text set, it still shows that field in green, but with no text in it, and regards it as the presence of a setting.

  Hi all, I am just trying to design skype like message window , for this I have taken the NSDrawer element. It contains : a table view on left, menu items on top, text field on right bottom and text view at central portion on right side. Using text view I can play with string being displayed but I cannot draw the line between messages or round rectangle surrounding user name and time stamp.   Hy! Here is my problem: i have a profile and this profile has for example 100 images. When someone visit this profile the first image will be the first result of my query that sorts by updated_at. But if the user would want to put the image with the (id = 8) to be the first, then (id = 22) then (id = 88) and so on? I need to put another field or is really necessary a new table to make a custom sort on images? and maybe someone explain this to me how to do? thanks, i appreciate your help ;)

• I can't get mailto links to open the Mail app from Mobile Safari when using jQTouch. What could be w

  Hi all, I'm developing an iPhone web app using jQTouch, and it contains a simple mailto: link to a valid email address, which should launch the iPhone mail application when tapped—but it doesn't. If I visit a "normal" web page in Mobile Safari which contains the exact same link, and tap on it, I get the expected result: the mail app pops up with the correct email address in the To field. Here's the link HTML (with the address changed) just in case I'm going nuts and have made a stupid mistake, but it appears perfectly fine: <p><a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a></p> Has anyone come across this when using jQTouch? Or can anyone at least suggest a way that I can debug this? At the moment when I tap the non-working link it flashes red (the active link state) and absolutely nothing else happens.

• Can I export a SharePoint list to an Excel file subdivided into separate worksheets?

  We have a SharePoint 2007 deployment which will have a substantially large document library. My client wants the ability to export this library to an Excel spreadsheet, but specifically wants the ability to divide the spreadsheet into several worksheets based on a specific field. Is this possible to accomplish in WSS 3.0, through the object model or otherwise? There is a out-of-the-box Export to Spreadsheet, but it does not appear to support automated subdivision of the list items into separate worksheets. I do not know if Excel Services that come with MOSS are capable of it, but we do not have MOSS so we cannot consider it an option for now.

• PHP date function not accepting timezone change

  Hello, I've set up a quick little test to understand and debug timezones between mySQL and PHP. Here's the page: http://dev.feedingo.com/test_dates.php The dates are being created in mySQL using NOW() in a datetime field. The initial problem I was trying to figure out is what timezone mySQL is using and how to sync it up with PHP. But now there's an even weirder issue. In my test app, if you change your timezone, the first strtotime updates properly, but if you pass it into a date() function it doesn't change. This is how im setting the timezone based off the select box. $current_timezone = 'America/New_York'; if( isset( $_GET['timezone'] ) ) $current_timezone = $_GET['timezone']; date_default_timezone_set($current_timezone); Any ideas as to why the date() function isn't accepting the timezone changes?   Ok this is a simple setup: DB has a view with personnel who have not been added to the system. The AutoComplete dynamically lists a numeric column field from the view. (Using Linq2SQL) (with autotracking off) Once this number is consumed - a refresh is done on the sqlserver's view. The Problem: This number still shows up in the Autocomplete UNTIL the VS WebDev Server is closed. Question: Why is the WebDev caching the data? I have tried turning off viewstate of the textbox, turned off caching on the autocompleteextender, to no avail. Any help please ...

• Using Entity Framework, how do I specify a sort on a navagation property?

  I have two tables: [Category], [Item]. They are connected by a join table: [CategoryAndItem]. It has two primary key fields: [CategoryKey], [ItemKey]. Foreign keys exist appropriately and Entity has no problem pulling this in and creating the correct navigation properties that connect the entity objects. Basically each category can have multiple items, and items can be in multiple categories. The problem is that the order of items is specified per category, so that a particular item might be third in one category but fifth in another. In the past, I have added a [Sequence] field to the join table and modified the stored procedure to handle it. But since Entity is replacing my stored procedures, I need to figure out how to make Entity handle the sequence. Any suggestions?

However, I keep getting the value as 'undefined', in spite of entering text into the newly added text box. This does not happen if the form already has a text box to begin with - i.e., if a text box is not being added via a js function. Anything missing / look wrong here? Thanks!
