• I need to programmatically remove a batch of unique constraints that I don't know the names of.

  I maintain a product that is installed at multiple locations which as been haphazardly upgraded. Unique constraints were added to a number of tables, but I have no idea what the names are at any particular instance. What I do know is the table/columnname pair that has the unique constraints and I would like to write a script to delete any unique constraint on these column/table combinations. This is MSSQL 2000 and later. Something that works on 2000/2005/2008 would be best!

  I have a debug .exe file that i want to run on other machines that don't have MS Visual Studio 2008 installed on them. How can this be done? The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why). At the moment I'm getting a message saying "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect". An ideas? Cheers.

When I start the application and run the process, the data is being loaded into database for few hours worth of few tens of megabytes. However, when I quite debugging, change something in code (not in DB structure), run the project again, the database is erased. Does anyone know how to prevent this behavior? I need the data to stay in DB to test on it.

  This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error. I have a function with the following signature: public int DoSomething(sbyte value) { ... } When pass in -127 and I look at the value argument the Visual Studio debugger (e.g. Watch window) shows me that it has the value 0xFFFFFF81. This is correct except for the fact that sbyte is only 8 bits wide; I would expect the debugger to show me that it is 0x81.
