• How to install 32-bit libraries using Debian Testing

  Question: What is the way to determine, ahead of time and without doing a full install of 64-bit Debian Testing NETINST, when Debian Testing has 32-bit libraries available and fully working and installable so that the following command works without broken package errors?: apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk The errors that occur when 32-bit libraries are not available, still in some broken state, or whatever is broken are detailed below. I already have concluded that "Just install Stable" is my stop-gap measure for now, but I would like to know the answer to the above question so as to avoid a lengthy installation process only to run into these problems at the very end. Details: I downloaded the 64-bit Debian Testing netinst a couple of days ago. This was "Jessie" built 20131014-06:07 via http://tinyurl.com/lejpa. This is weekly testing build. Yes, I know I should expect problems, and I did. I managed to get it completely installed and was able to invoke into GNOME, but not get past the 32-bit library problem. The problems starts when I attempt to install the 32-bit libraries via: apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk that returns: root@breath:~# apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: ia32-libs : Depends: ia32-libs-i386 but it is not installable ia32-libs-gtk : Depends: ia32-libs-i386 but it is not installable Depends: ia32-libs-gtk-i386 but it is not installable E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. I then found an old (2012 is old to me) answer at ia32-libs : Depends: ia32-libs-i386 but it is not installable and even tried what they suggested there which was dpkg --add-architecture i386 apt-get update After executing the above, I tried again but got: root@breath:~# apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. • Program to write for you?

  I need a program that can write what you input in it, and "writing" it back on another process, letter by letter, not copying and pasting it back. Basically, I have a insanely huge file that would take me about a month of non-stop keyboard typing and I can't simply control-C to the other program because it doesn't allow pasting text (go figure). I do realize it's quite an unusual question, but I need this to be done by a machine and not myself. Is there any way to be done?

• Slow Query log for just one database

  can I enable the slow query log specifically for just one database? What I've done currently is to take the entire log into excel and then run a pivot report to work out which database is the slowest. So i've gone and done some changes to that application in the hope of reducing the slow query occurence. rather than running my pivot report again which took a bit of time to cleanse the data i'd rather just output slow queries from the one database possible?

The reason why I don't want to just click on the top bar to sort on the basis of rating is that my music library is 37GB and it takes WMP around 5 seconds to get done rearranging, and I dislike that. Or differently and more generally: as my script writes to a log file, what command should I put on my script to see on the log if the script is running as root or something else?

  I know you can add custom Document Properties in Excel 2007. see: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/HA100475241033.aspx#5 But I thought there was a way to pull a value from a cell as a custom metadata property without code. Maybe I'm searching for it with the wrong terminology. Maybe it has to be done as a Named Range. I know this can be done. Anyone know how?

I've looked around the program and can't see this option. Am I missing something, can this be done with WinDirStat?   I just downloaded and installed the latest Ubuntu and it doesn't look like I'm used to. I don't see any Mercurial developer tools in the Ubuntu Software Center. I got on http://tortoisehg.bitbucket.org/download/index.html and it looks like it can be done, but I'm not entirely sure how. I've done some Googling but the results I keep running into are on older versions of Ubuntu. Any ideas on how I can make this happen?

  I'm trying to debug my first app on the device and got this error message, A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found. I've gone thru the Apple manuals, checked SO and other sites but cannot work out what I've done wrong? This is what I've done so far. Got my provisioning profile. I check Organizer and it's there, plus it shows that it is installed on my iPhone (green button). My profile is in ~/library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles My certificate is in Keychain Access In Xcode I have have the Project Info showing the Entitlements correctly. The Code Signing Identity matches what's in Keychain. I've set the Target Info to be the same as Project Info. Have I done something inconsistently?

  I would like to be able to close the editpreference dialog (as shown here http://twitpic.com/18ttdp) by pressing the 'Done' button on the keyboard. Currently, pressing 'Done' just dismisses the keyboard but leaves the dialog. In other parts of my application I use code similar to the following to intercept the 'Done' key press and execute actions in my activity: text.setOnEditorActionListener(new TextView.OnEditorActionListener() { @Override public boolean onEditorAction(TextView v, int actionId, KeyEvent event) { if (actionId == EditorInfo.IME_ACTION_DONE) { //do stuff here return true; } return false; } }); However, I am unsure of how to do achieve this same effect in my preference activity or layout xml.
