• Collaborative editing for .NET development - what are the possibilities

  What are the best options for real-time collaborative editing for .NET development? (C#,VB.NET, ASP.NET - not Mono unless it is the best way to get collaboration) 1) Anything possible with visual studio? 2) Collaborative editors? I know Eclipse has real-time collaboration, but I don't know how far you can combine it with .NET support. 3) Web-based tools? 4) Desktop sharing tools like VNC, NX etc. The main points is that 2 developers in different locations should be able to see edits in real time. Both should be able to edit, or it should be easy to switch control. Regarding .NET, syntax highlighting etc is better than nothing.

• how to run phantomjs on heroku?

  I am trying to run phantomjs on the heroku cedar stack. I am using a phantomjs buildpack for heroku https://github.com/stomita/heroku-buildpack-phantomjs. However I followed the instructions but still cannot make it work. When I run the command heroku run bash and type phantomjs --version it says phantomjs: command not found I read things about LD_LIBRARY_PATH that needs to be set to "/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib:/lib:/app/vendor/phantomjs/lib", this is what i did but without success. Is there something that i am missing ? Where does the buildpack install the phantomjs binary exactly ? Is there a way to know the path where the binary is ? I am using ruby 1.9.2 Thanks a lot for your help. EDIT: To be more precise, i want to combine ruby and phantomjs, so i am using this custom buildpack: https://github.com/ddollar/heroku-buildpack-multi, but when i push to heroku i get "Heroku push rejected, failed to compile Multipack app"

My prob is similar to "ROMANs" prob,i hav seen earlier in the post at this site.. Basically,i want to combine parts of different wav file into one wav file?? if there is ne other apporach thn takin the contents into an array and cuting part and combining and again converting bac? please suggest... edited: I prefer unpacking the contents of the wave file into an array and editing by cutting the required segment of sound from the wav file,as i am working on speech processing,and guess this way would be easy to enchance the quality of sound later... can ne one suggest a way for this?? • Combining iPhone/iPad apps into one universal app

  I have two apps (one for the iPhone, the other for the iPad) that I'd like to combine into one universal app. For my first attempt, I tried creating a new universal app project and added the libraries for the iPhone and iPad versions. The iPad version compiled and ran fine (as expected), but the iPhone version didn't. My hope was that I could create a universal app that would execute only the project in the iPhone library when running on the iPhone and vice versa for the iPad. It seems like this should still work. Is there a way to tell the universal app project to ignore one of the external libraries when compiling for the iPad and vice versa for the iPhone? Thanks!

• How Do I Convert text to a WAV file With Inaudible Waveform?

  I am trying to create an audio watermarking system. I figure the best solution is to create an audio file (WAV) based on a unique string of text and then combine this with the original wav. The part that makes this tricky (for me anyway) is: How do I convert the text string to a wav? How do I ensure that the resulting WAV form is inaudible (or at least barely noticeable to the listener). I would prefer this be done server side (via PHP, etc) but if the processing load isn't too much then would be ok with something in Flash or Javascript. I'd be willing to pay someone to create me a workable solution (complete source code that functions as described). Thanks, Scott!

I think the best way is using thread and timer to check dates. But I have no idea how to call this function. I don't want to make a separate program or shell.   I am looking for a bare-bones pdf viewer example using the QuickLook Monotouch API. I have searched and have found bits and pieces but just can't seem to get it all integrated. I will be reading the pdf from a file pre-saved to the Personal folder on the iPad and would like to show the pdf as a modal view. • Excel validation range limits

  When Excel saves a file, it attempts to combine identical Validation settings into a single rule with multiple ranges. This creates one of three issues, depending on the file type you choose to save: When saving as a standard Excel file (Office 2000 BIFF), a maximum of 1024 non-contiguous ranges that can have the same validation setting. When saving as a SpreadsheetML (Office 2002/2003 XML) file, you are limited to the number of non-contiguous ranges that can be represented, comma-delimited in R1C1 format, in 1024 characters. When saving as an Open Office XML (Office 2007 *.xlsx), there is a maximum of 511 non-contiguous ranges that can have the same validation setting. (I don't have Office 2007, I'm using the file converter for Office 2003). Once you bust any of these limits, the remaining ranges with the same Validation settings have their Validation settings wiped. For (1) and (3), Excel warns you that it can't save all of the formatting, but for (2) it does not.

• Usability standards when combining AJAX and regular POST-based form saves

  I'm working on a project where on certain pages (e.g. settings pages) we combine AJAX and regular fill-out-the-form-then-submit POST based operations. I'm curious if anyone has advice on improving the usability of such a page. One of my ideas is that when the user enters/modifies a value in a non-ajax part of the page, some sort of div would appear (say in a fashion similar to Growl) indicating that the user needs to save by pressing 'Submit' at the bottom of the page (and possibly putting up a modal dialog if the user navigates away from the page before saving, though that might be a bit too intrusive). I'm sure this type of interaction exists, but I can't find any examples.

  So my application uses a LOT of js files. thats a lot of http requests. I decided to combine them dynamically at the server in packs of 3-4 files clubbed by functionality. My client side request is: ...script type="text/javascript" src="http://mydomain.com/core-js.php" ... My server side does: --core-js.php-- header("Content-type: application/x-javascript"); include_once('file1.js'); include_once('file2.js'); include_once('file3.js'); include_once('file4.js'); I am setting a far future expire header on core-js.php. My question is, would core-js.php be cached at the client side? If it would be, could someone please explain how? Thanks!

What I already know is: I need to translate my input language to assembler A lot, isn't it? Now what I don't know is: What assembler do I need to create Win32 PE executables like, for example, Visual Studio does? What about file headers?   I want to have an extension method for XElement/XAttribute that allows me to apply a "ValueOrDefault" logic - perhaps with various slightly different implementations: ValueOrNull, ValueOrDefault, NumericValueOrDefault (which validates if the value is numeric), but I want to constrain these methods so that they can only work with ValueTypes or String (i.e. it does not really make sense to use any other reference types. Is it possible to do this with one implementation of each method, or will I have to have one where the constraint is "Structure" and one where the constraint is "String" - if I combine Structure and String in the generic constraint, I get the error : 'Structure' constraint and a specific class type constraint cannot be combined.   I just study window programming with awt. I see through several codes but I can not get concepts of JFrame, JLabel and ContentPane. I think JFrame only make outer Frame. ContentPane is container that contain JLabel that has contents(text, button, radio etc...). I don't know this is correct T.T Why I ask this is I failed combine the contents. • What *collaborative* wireframing / UI mockup tools are out there?

  I'm looking for something that applies the collaboration focus (one location/URL, always up-to-date, multi-person online read/write access anywhere) of google docs / google spreadsheets to wireframing. Bonus points if, like Google Docs, it needs only a browser yet also works offline. More bonus points if it supports automatic revisions. Even more bonus points if you can hand out login-less 'invitation' URLs like Flickr does, instead of forcing people into signing up for accounts or using their home accounts. To start off, there's one called iPlotz, but it didn't enchant me -- ironically, mostly because of its akward UI, which can't hold a candle to omnigraffle (don't let that prevent you from giving it a try though). And no, paper prototyping, wonderful as it is, does not qualify: it does not combine being instantly globally shareable & editable very well :-)

• Merge two bytes in java/android

  Hi, I have a frame of 22 bytes. The frame is the input stream from an accelerometer via bluetooth. The acceleromter readings are a 16 bit number split over two bytes. When i try to merge the bytes with buffer[1] + buffer[2], rather than adding the bytes, it just puts the results side by side. so 1+2 = 12. Could someone tell me how to combine these two bytes to obtain the original number. (btw the bytes are sent little endian) Thanks

• named_scope and substings

  I have a named_scope in rails that finds episodes by there directors given name named_scope :director_given, lambda { |dr| {:joins => :director, :conditions => ['given = ?', dr]} } It works great but I would like it to also work on substrings one the name. e.g. instead of having to search for 'Lucy' you could just search 'Lu'. P.S. I also have another named scope which does exactly the same thing but on the directors last name. It there a way to combine the two? Thanks,

• Displaying Photos on iPhone

  Hi all, I'm working on an iPhone app and I need to be able to display images to users. I have already gotten the code that takes the photo and stores it into the filesystem working well. Now I just need to figure out how to display the image. I've looked at the Three20 project I've read about on a few of the posts here, but it seems a bit cumbersome and like an extra dependency to import link and combine all of the Three20 library into my little app. Are there any other ways or a more streamlined library that will let me display photos to my users?   Hi - I'm a tester, with some Java and plenty of bash coding experience. My team is building an automated functional test harness using JUnit 4 and ant. Testers write automated tests in Java and use JavaDoc to document these tests. We're using ant's JunitReport task to generate our test result reports. This works superbly for reporting. What we're missing, however, is a way to combine those JavaDoc free-text descriptions of what the test does along with the JunitReport results. My question is, what's involved to get the JavaDoc into the JunitReport output? I'd like to be able to inject the JavaDoc for a given test method into the JunitReport at the level of each method result. regards Ben

  Is it possible to create a full text index on a VIEW? If so, given two columns column1 and column2 on a VIEW, what is the SQL to get this done? The reason I'd like to do this is I have two very large tables, where I need to do a FULLTEXT search of a single column on each table and combine the results.
