    I would like to get started with PHP, and 5.3 release seems to bring many nice features (namespaces, lambda functions, and many others). I have found some MVC frameworks, and some of them support only PHP 5: PHP Frameworks PHP MVC Frameworks Model–view–controller on Wikipedia but can anyone recommend one of those MVC frameworks that plans to actively use PHP 5.3 features, not just being compatible with PHP 5.3?     Hi all, In SharePoint 2010, This is rare error, I got when I deploy and activate Feature using VS2010. Deployment works file  but in activation process it get stuct and throws error. Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': The field with Id {GUID} defined in feature {GUID} was found in the current site collection or in a subsite. When I googled I found very good solution  from Sandeep Snahta Blog. http://snahta.blogspot.hk/2011/10/error-in-activate-features-from-visual.html As suggested in this blog, there is two option to overcome this error; Close VS2010 and restart again.     Hi all, I'm new to both OpenManage and System Center, but it sounds as if they're geared towards similar problems/goals. Are the features comparable enough that OpenManage can be forgone completely in favor of System Center products? Specifically I'm hoping to achieve storage monitoring and remote administration, although if someone with experience with both wants to provide a quick compare/contrast (objective, of course) I won't complain.     I have a query that runs in less than 1 ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 However, when I combine it with another query using INTERSECT, the query now takes more than 250ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int INTERSECT SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 This can't be right. I've tried several index combinations, for example an index on all columns I use in my query, but to no avail. I've tried compound indexes as well, but they only slow things down even more. I have read a few things about SQLite and how it treats indexes. I know SQLite is capable of delivering sick performance, and surely I must be overlooking something.

  • Is there a terminal that features sliding like guake and screen spliting like terminator on Linux?

    Sliding means I got the terminal always in background and I can call it with a shortcut, and it will slide down from the top of the screen like in Quake (which why the most known terminal implementing it is called guake). Splitting terminal means I can seen in one terminal tab several shells, like with screen or tmux. But I can also take the focus on each part of the terminal by clicking on it, not just with a 4 keys keyboard shortcut. Which terminator let me do. Is there a terminal that features both on Linux ? Even something I can pay for.

  • What happened to QuickTime Pro for Windows editing features?

    I used to record screencasts in SnagIt and then edit them in QuickTime Pro on windows with no problem. I haven't done it in a few months and now when I try most of the editing features have gone whack-a-doodle. For instance, if I got to delete a few seconds of video, it actually ends up deleting 20 seconds of video. I have repeated this on various source files including the Sample.mov that comes with QT. Using Edit-Cut looks like it works, but it doesn't actually do anything. Trim still works but that appears to be it. I know at least one other person has confirmed this behaviour. Does anyone have any work arounds. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. QT Info QT Pro 7.7.1 (1680.42) QuickTime Version 7.6.8 (1675)

    I heavily rely on Opera's speed dial and password management features. Lack of these two features is really stopping me from switching to another web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Opera's password management has two unique characteristics which I rely on heavily: It saves passwords on all pages, (apparently) despite the page's meta data asking not to save passwords. It offers keyboard shortcut and button to automatically fill in username/passwords and all other fields in a login form, then automatically submit the form. How can I get those functions in other browsers? Thank you!

    I'm designing a programming language, purely for fun, and want to add as many experimental features as I can, just to make programming in it something completely different, and that not in a bad way like Brainf*ck or Malbolge. However, I seem to be quite bad at coming up with new things for it but I'm sure that there are tons of things out there that have been talked about but never really tried out. What experimental language features or concepts not implemented in mainstream languages are there at the moment? E.g: If I asked this in, let's say, 1960, an answer could be "Object-oriented programming". I'm sure that there are a lot of unimplemented ideas computer-scientists have (recently) come up with, at least I was told so.

    I've designed some educational programming languages and interpreters for them, but my problem always was that they ended up "normal" and "boring", mostly similar to some kind of existing language (ASM and BASIC). I find it really hard to come up with new ideas for syntax features, "neat things" and new or very modified programming paradigms for it. I always thought that it was hard to come up with good new things not fun/useless new things for this case. I wondered if you could help me out with your creativity: What features in terms of language syntax and built-in functions as well as maybe even new paradigms can I work into my language to keep it useless but more fun, enjoyable, interesting and/or different to program in?

There is mutual agreement between the developers and Product Managers that there should be a business case behind every feature the development team builds. My question is, what is an effective way to make a business case for platform-level features that have higher up front cost but will provide long term benefits? For example, the development team would like to implement a plug-in framework. There is the higher up-front cost to implement a plug-in framework but delivering the subsequent features as plug-ins will be cheaper in the long run. This is obvious to everyone including the Product Managers. Is there a standard/simple way to express the cost-benefits? Is there a simple way to visualize it with a graph?

  • Why are some C#4 features allowed even when targeting 3.5?

    We upgraded to VS 2010, but we haven't yet upgraded to .NET 4.0. All of our projects are still explicitly targeting 3.5. Today, a developer checked in code that looked like this: delegate T Generator<out T>(); As far as I know, "in T" and "out T" are C# 4.0 features. According to our build server, which doesn't have .NET 4.0 installed on it, I'm right. The check-in broke the build. But, why the heck does it build on his machine? Why is VS just ignoring the target framework for the project? Other C# 4.0 features, like the dynamic keyword, do not build on the developer's machine.

My Question There are things for which Surfaces are better and things for which Meshes are better. But how can I use both the best features of Surfaces and the best features of Meshes on one object at once?
