  • SSH with public/private key to iMac fails.

    I'm trying to connect to my iMac (server) from my macbook (client) on my LAN. Both have Mac OS X 10.6.4. Server running on a new clean install of the OS. When just activating Remote Login in System Preferences everything works fine. But when setting up ssh to only work with public/private key I get the following error messages from the server log depending on if I use a rsa passphrase or not: With passphrase (case 1): PAM: user account has expired for <myServerUserName> from 192.168.X.X via 192.168.X.Y Without passphrase (case 2): Failed publickey for <myServerUserName> from 192.168.X.X port AAAAA ssh2 This is my setup algorithm: Create a private and public key on client with command ssh-keygen -t rsa. In case 1 I also set a passphrase. Move the id_rsa.pub to the server path /Users/<myServerUserName>/.ssh/ In this folder I execute cat id_rsa.pub > authorized_keys Making sure Remote Login isn't active, I now execute sudo /usr/sbin/sshd -d on the server. Back on the client I now type ssh -v -v -v <myServerUserName>@192.168.X.Y and get prompted to accept RSA key fingerprint. This is NOT the same fingerprint as the one from when I created the private/public key (should it be?). I accept. Depending on case: CASE 1: Client gets halted for password and the response is permission denied even though correct password is given. Back on the server I can read the error message I stated above for case 1: PAM: user account has expired... CASE 2: Client gets message Connection closed by 192.168.X.Y. Back on the server I can read the error message I stated above for case 2: Failed publickey... What could possibly cause this?

  • Print Screen key doesn't work if a drop-down menu is active

    On 11.10, I don't get a screengrab when pressing the Print Screen button on my keyboard if I have activated a drop down menu. For example, in nautilus, I can click the File menu and press the print screen button, nothing happens. Deactivating the drop down menu and all other things being equal, it works. Is that normal? Often when using this thing I'm actually needing to show some of those menu options. Currently I use the workaround to grab after a delay of a few seconds, but I'm used to the print screen button working no matter what's in focus and would prefer it that way.

    Hello all, I have a database containing a couple tables: files and users. This relationship is many-to-many, so I also have a table called users_files_ref which holds foreign keys to both of the above tables. Here's the schema of each table: files - file_id, file_name users - user_id, user_name users_files_ref - user_file_ref_id, user_id, file_id I'm using Codeigniter to build a file host application, and I'm right in the middle of adding the functionality that enables users to upload files. This is where I'm running into my problem. Once I add a file to the files table, I will need that new file's id to update the users_files_ref table. Right now I'm adding the record to the files table, and then I imagined I'd run a query to grab the last file added, so that I can get the ID, and then use that ID to insert the new users_files_ref record. I know this will work on a small scale, but I imagine there is a better way of managing these records, especially in a heavy-traffic scenario. I am new to relational database stuff but have been around PHP for a while, so please bear with me here :-) I have primary and foreign keys set up correctly for the files, users, and users_files_ref tables, I'm just wondering how to manage the adding of file records for this scenario?     Hi, I'm using a doctrine table that has several optional relations (of types Doctrine_Relation_Association and Doctrine_Relation_ForeignKey) with other tables. How can I test if a record from that table has connections with records from the related table. Here is an example to make my question more clear. Assume that you have a User and a user has a many to many relation with Usergroups and a User can have one Userrole How can I test if a give user is part of any Usergroups or has a role.     The iPad programming guide says I have to include the UIDeviceFamily key in Info.plist. It also says that the transitioning a target to iPad should have added the key. It didn't. I tried creating blank projects, both iPad-only and universal, and neither got that key. Google comes up short too. What's the story on this mysterious key? The simulator doesn't mind the fact it's missing.

    I followed exactly what I thought I understood the steps to be in the iPhone Programming Guide for specifying that my app requires telephony (I opened MyApp-info.plist, added a new key called UIRequiredDeviceCapabilties, set the key type to Dictionary, added a new row with key set to "telephony", type Boolean, value YES), and sent my app off to Apple. Lo and behold, eleven days later, I get a message from Apple that it's been rejected for not using the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key. WTF? How are you actually supposed to implement this?

    I want the Escape key to close my WPF window. However if there is a control that can consume that Escape key, I don't want to close the Window. There are multiple solutions on how to close the WPF Window when ESC key is pressed. eg. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/419596/how-does-the-wpf-button-iscancel-property-work However this solution closes the Window, without regard to if there is an active control that can consume the Escape key.
