  • UIBarButtonItem with custom image and no border

    Hello, I want to create a UIBarButtonItem with a custom image, but I don't want the border that iPhone adds, as my Image has a special border. It's the same as the back button but a forward button.     For some really weird reason when i set the .Enabled property to false on a simple text box on a small GUI, it fires a radio buttons OnClick event and its causing lots of problems.   • Spatial Rotation in Gmod Expression2.

    I'm using expression2 to program behavior in Garry's mod (http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Wire_Expression2) Okay so, to set the precedent. In Gmod I have a block and I am at a complete loss of how to get it to rotate around the 3 up, down and right vectors (Which are local. ie; if I pitch it 45 degrees the forward vector is 0.707, 0.707, 0). Essentially, From the 3 vectors I'd like to be able to get local Pitch/Roll/Yaw. By Local Pitch Roll Yaw I mean that they are completely independent of one another allowing true 3d rotation. So for example; if I place my craft so its nose is parallel to the floor the X,Y,Z would be 0,0,0. If I turn it parallel to the floor (World and Local Yaw) 90 degrees it's now 0, 0, 90. If I then pitch it (World Roll, Local Pitch) it 180 degrees it's now 180, 0, 90. I've already explored quaternions however I don't believe I should post my code here as I think I was re-inventing the wheel. I know I didn't explain that well but I believe the problem is pretty generic. Any help anyone could offer is greatly appreciated. Oh, I'd like to avoid gimblelock too. Essentially calculating the rotation around each of the crafts up/forward/right vectors using the up/forward/right vectors. To simply the question a generic implementation rather than one specific to Gmod is absolutely fine.

Which is the fastest access type between those two ?   • SQL Server Search Proper Names Full Text Index vs LIKE + SOUNDEX

    I have a database of names of people that has (currently) 35 million rows. I need to know what is the best method for quickly searching these names. The current system (not designed by me), simply has the first and last name columns indexed and uses "LIKE" queries with the additional option of using SOUNDEX (though I'm not sure this is actually used much). Performance has always been a problem with this system, and so currently the searches are limited to 200 results (which still takes too long to run). So, I have a few questions: Does full text index work well for proper names? If so, what is the best way to query proper names? (CONTAINS, FREETEXT, etc) Is there some other system (like Lucene.net) that would be better? Just for reference, I'm using Fluent NHibernate for data access, so methods that work will with that will be preferred. I'm using SQL Server 2008 currently. EDIT I want to add that I'm very interested in solutions that will deal with things like commonly misspelled names, eg 'smythe', 'smith', as well as first names, eg 'tomas', 'thomas'.     I would like to write an enumerator that would go through a paragraph of text and gives me one sentence at a time. I tried using stringEnumerate with the NSStringEnumerationBySentences but that simply looks at the periods and fails. For example, lets say I have the following text Block: "Senator John A. Boehner decided not to move forward. He also decided not to call the congress. The news reporter said though...." I would like my function to break down the above paragraph in the following sentences: Senator John A. Boehner decided not to move forward He also decided not to call the congress (No third sentence because it's a half a sentence) The String Enumerator with the sentence optionjust looks at the periods and breaks down that way which is wrong: Senator John A. Boehner decided not to move forward He also decided not to call the congress The news reporter said though.... Is there any library or function that I can call that does a better job at this?   • Matlab GUI: How to Save the Results of Functions (states of application)

    Hi, I would like to create an animation which enables the user to go backward and forward through the steps of simulation. An animation has to simulate the iterative process of channel decoding (a receiver receives a block of bits, performs an operation and then checks if the block corresponds to parity rules. If the block doesn't correspond the operation is performed again and the process finally ends when the code corresponds to a given rules). I have written the functions which perform the decoding process and return a m x n x i matrix where m x n is the block of data and i is the iteration index. So if it takes 3 iterations to decode the data the function returns a m x n x 3 matrix with each step is stired. In the GUI (.fig file) I put a "decode" button which runs the method for decoding and there are buttons "back" and "forward" which have to enable the user to switch between the data of recorded steps. I have stored the "decodedData" matrix and currentStep value as a global variable so by clicking "forward" and "next" buttons the indices have to change and point to appropriate step states. When I tried to debug the application the method returned the decoded data but when I tried to click "back" and "next" the decoded data appeared not to be declared. Does anyone know how is it possible to access (or store) the results of the functions in order to enable the described logic which I want to implement in Matlab GUI?

    I didn't find anything to help me with this problem. What I want is: Serial device sends repeatedly some data to serial port. Raspberry Pi should get this data from RxD and stream it to local network via port 10001 without filtering it. So I can find this device on my pc. This should also work in other direction: Raspberry listen to port 10001 and forward all data from local network to TxD. I'm newbie in Linux World. How can I listen to some port on Raspberry Pi and send broadcast to the same port? I'm using Raspbian Wheezy with soft float. I have found a library Pi4j for Java, that I already use to get and write data from/to serial port. final Serial serial = SerialFactory.createInstance(); serial.addListener(new SerialDataListener() { public void dataReceived(SerialDataEvent event) { forward(event.getData()); } }); event.getData() is a String, which I want to broadcast in my local network. Is it generally a good Idea to use Java for that? I need also a String from port 10001, which I can forward to serial port.

    Recently, senders from Hotmail have begun to get the following NDR when trying to e-mail our domain. EDIT : Full NDR Message Action: failed Status: 5.5.0 Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550-Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client, or login to the 550-IMAP/POP3 server before sending your message. 550-snt0-omc3-s36.snt0.hotmail.com [65.55.90.175]:49271 is not permitted to 550 relay through this server without authentication This is seemingly out of the blue and I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Pertinent Information We have multiple domains hooked up to our Exchange server. We changed our company name in January of this year, and the old primary domain (olddomain.com) will accept e-mails from Hotmail accounts, however e-mails sent to the new primary domain (newdomain.com) bounce back with the NDR listed above. The bounces only appear to be happening when the Hotmail sender is sending a new e-mail, and not if they are responding to an e-mail sent from our end. We have made no changes to the configuration of our server recently. This e-mail first appeared last Friday. As far as I can tell, the mail doesn't even seem to get to our server We performed an Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration last year. The 2003 acts as a Smart Host Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated! I'm at a loss

  • Transfer all 1&1 web and e-mail services to own Synology NAS using No-IP for DDNS

    I have a domain x-treem.net. The registrar is DomainDiscover and I have a hosting package with 1&1 which includes web and e-mail. I also have an additional package with 1&1 - Microsoft Exchange which centralises all my e-mails, tasks, contacts, notes, etc. and I connect to it with my PC (Outlook) and my Android phone. I have just purchased a Synology NAS (DS213) and I can see I can run a web server (Web Station), e-mail server (Mail Server) on it amongst other things. I am behind a dynamic IP. So, I'm looking to get some clarification on what I must do to consolidate my services and make use of my NAS to do as much as possible and save third-party hosting costs. My registrar specifies nameservers as NS45.1AND1.CO.UK and NS46.1AND1.CO.UK. The MX record is mx00.1and1.co.uk and mx01.1and1.co.uk. I'm aware of the concept of DDNS and I am looking at using No-IP.com for this. This is where I need clarification. If I registered with the No-IP paid service and pointed my registrar to No-IP's nameservers, and used the DDNS support on my NAS (which supports No-IP), then any requests to x-treem.net would go to my NAS. Is that correct? Therefore, web requests would hit the web server on my NAS, and e-mails would hit the mail server on my NAS? So, given all of the above, I can then drop 1&1 completely and use my NAS for everything. I use MySQL, phpMyAdmin, phpBB on 1&1 all of which the Synology NAS appears to support in its available packages. As for Microsoft Exchange, Synology offers Zafara which appears to be a drop-in replacement for Exchange. Am I on the right track here, or is there anything I am missing?

    Hi, I am trying to setup James mail server on a linux machine. The linux machine has public static ip address assigned. I installed James and added in the config.xml added the servername as mydomain.com. In the DNS for mydomain.com, I have created a A-record, say mx.mydomain.com, which corresponds to the ipaddress of the above mail server machine. Then added mx.mydomain.com as MX record for mydomain.com. In James, I have created a new user test. Then from gmail, I sent a mail to [email protected]. The mail is not received back and it didn't even bounce back. The linux machine is behind a firewall with only 22, 80, 8080 ports open for external network. My question here is, Do I require do open any other ports on the firewall so that the mail I send from gmail arrives to James? If it's not the port problem, any views on solving this issue? I don't want to send mails from this server. It's only for receiving the mails.

  • Help configuring Mercury mail or similiar with XAMPP to send e-mail outside of localhost

    I'm building a PHP/MySQL driven website for my department at work (installed via XAMPP). I need to be able to send mail to outside e-mail addresses (e.g., Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) using the PHP mail() function. As I see it I have to solutions: Configure the SMTP directive in php.ini to the server running at my work. Configure/run a mail server that can send e-mails outside of localhost (I'm trying Mercury because it comes installed with XAMPP). Here are problems I've come up against: I took a guess at our SMTP server name, and when calling PHP mail(), I get the error SMTP server response: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated I can't be sure, however, the SMTP name is correct (I can't get help from our IT guys because of politics). I have tried to use mercury mail. Mercury seems to be picking up the request, but it doesn't want to forward the e-mail to the outside. I keep getting a Temporary error 240 (temporary MX resolution error). I've searched high and low but still can't find a definitive answer on how to send e-mails outside of localhost. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi have some questions for Zimbra v8.0.6GA. Under Configure - MTA - Network, I'm seeing a few settings and am not very clear what to do with them. Web mail MTA Host name Is this for delivering local mail only (ie not for external mails)? According to this link, it says the following. That's a mouthful but what is "composed messages"? Is this for a multi server deployment where the Postfix server for Zimbra isn't installed on the same box that as the rest of the servers? Webmail MTA is used by the Zimbra server for composed messages and must be the location of the Postfix server in the Zimbra MTA. Relay MTA for external delivery My understanding after reading the doc is that if my ISP doesn't force me to relay outgoing mails through them, and I have enabled DNS lookup, I can leave this blank? Inbound SMTP host name Sorry I know this is explained as "If your MX records point to a spam-relay or any other external non-Zimbra server, enter the name of that server in the Inbound SMTP host name field." but I'm not following. Can someone provide an example? MTA Trusted Networks The admin doc says "To set up MTA trusted networks on a per server basis, make sure that MTA trusted networks have been set up as global settings and then go the Configure Servers MTA page and in the MTA Trusted Networks field enter the trusted network addresses for the server." However I see out of the box it has default networks setup for the server whereas on a global level it's blank. Does this mean there is a bug with the install software and I have to copy the setting from the server to the global setting?

  • hMail server - sending copy of an e-mail changing the sender

    Dear All please help me with following request. I am using hMail server in a company(test.com) and have several hundred of guest e-mail accounts ([email protected]). I need to accomplish this: When any of the guest e-mails receives a message(either from internal or external sender) this e-mail(or its copy) is sent to another address "[email protected]" which is the same for all of these guest e-mails. But I need the sender to be identified as the [email protected] not as the original sender which happens when I use forwarding. I tried to prepare a simple VBS script using the OnAcceptMessage event to accomplish this. and it works on my testing machine without internet connectivity but not in the production environment. To be specific, if I send an e-mail to [email protected] in my test env it is delivered to the [email protected] with [email protected] being a sender. But in the production env the e-mail stays in the guest mailbox with the original sender. I am interested in any solution, using a rule in hMail or script, anything is welcome.   • How to use a local Leopard Server Mail server acting "like" an Exchange mail server

    We have a local Exchange 2003 server (company .local) who is collecting POP3 mail accounts on a distant (company .com) mailserver. The mails are collected by the Exchange server every 5-10 minutes and stored locally (on company .local), so the users can read them without going on the "real" mail server (company.com) What was explaned to me is that the mail collection is made with POP Now we are migrating on Snow Leopard Server. We have chosen to use a new extension for our local domain: .leo So our mailserver's FQDN is mail.company.leo, and the users have a user [email protected] formated mail address. A) All works fine except that I can't find how to tell the mail.company.leo that he must retreive the mails from the "real" public server (mail.company.com) I'm hoping to use IMAP and not POP. I can send mail using SMTP relay from mail.company.leo but (I know it's trivial) answering is not possible, even if I specify the reply-to as [email protected] (this seems to be related to A) ) I don't know if it's very complicated (I suspect not, but...) to achieve what I want to do, and I'm not a genius. But as I'm a little bit lost, I hopesomebody can or will help me. Solving this will allow us to use iCal invitations too, so a lot of services depends of these mailserver settings Some of you discuss the fact thta we choose to use a "new" tld with the .leo extension. We have no problem for that, we could use .local. no problem ;) We used .leo instead of .local just to differentiate the two systems (Exchange and SnowLeopardServer). The question was not about that, it was just to know if we can set a SnowLeopard mail server to act like an Exchange Server.   • external postfix forwarding to zimbra server

    I want to migrate from my current mail server (old_server) for my domain mydomain.com. old_server setup is Postfix+LDAP+Cyrus. Now I want to migrate my domain mail to Zimbra server (zimbra), but I am considering option to leave current mail server working in the first phase, and then to only have subset of email addresses to be forwarded to zimbra server. It seems that zimbra refers this in their documentation as 'edge MTA'. Current config mydomain.com MX: old_server <---------- smtp send ----------> smtp receive New config mydomain.com MX: old_server zimbra <------------------------------------------- smtp send ----------> smtp receive ---- forward ----> smtp receive I need following: old_server to receive mail for my domain as before, but for some of the email addresses I want them to be delivered to zimbra server. I should be able to determine which email addresses will be forwarded. I would like to avoid possible false spam detections for mails from mydomain.com due to this setup. Questions: How should I configure postfix on old_server to support this mail forwarding? To avoid false spam detection, can I have outgoing mail from mydomain.com to be sent by zimbra or should I use old_server? Is there anything extra I would need to do in order to avoid possibility of my outgoing mails being marked as spam on other servers?

  • What is a good client for handling large amounts of mail ?

    Although the title sums it up nice, I'll repeat and explain. What would be a good email client for handling large amounts of mail ? Large portion of mails I receive come with attachments (zip, rar, pdf, dwg, etc.) and within a month I usually have another 1,5-2Gb of new mail. I've noticed that 'standard' Outlook Express (with whose interface I've been very happy) gets awfully slow after a while. Archiving helps but not much. Then I usually take the files, move them onto a dvd, delete all messages I can do without and start anew. The thing is, I would love to have them all in email client since I often go after some old mails (slow projects). So, what would be good alternatives ? If it is portable, that would also be nice, but I can also live without it. post scriptum: I love @gmail, but cannot use it for work. I know I could theoretically forward all of it there, and back, but that approach doesn't make my boss very happy (email handling policies and similar).

  • Outlook 2007 font sizes

    Hello, Something really strange seems to have happened to my Outlook 2007. Everything was working fine for a long time now but at the end of today, all of a sudden, all of the fonts in Outlook are messed up. The font size of mails I write is huge (I am not zoomed in) and the font sizes of the buttons are big too, specifically the "Send", "To", and "Cc" buttons. I tried changing the font sizes through Outlook, but some of the buttons on the "Mail Format" tab in Options are not working, mainly the "Stationary and Fonts" button. I hit it but no window opens. This is all happening on my x64 machine. I took a look at my x32 machine, which also has Outlook 2007 installed and everything is ok there. Below is a link to an image comparing the broken, large font Outlook (top of picture) and the normal, working outlook. The text in the mails I compose is also abnormally large in the broken Outlook. Big font Outlook buttons. Any ideas? This came out of no where after a few months of no problems. Thanks.

  • Configuration Help for Sendmail Required

    Hi I need some help with respect to sendmail configuration. The basic problem is that I have some employees working from other places and they need access to their mail. So what I have done right now is whatever mails which are meant for them which are generated from within the company and collected by my internal mail server is bounced to an external mail server from where the employees access it. This is done through a email id on a different domain. This was working fine till I restricted the external mailing access for certain users using rulesets in sendmail.cf. Once I had put that in place only people who had external mailing rights could send mails to people outside the office. What I would like to know is that is there anyway where I can expose sendmail on two different ips and thereby configure everybody's email id to point to the same internal mail server using 2 different ips. one ip when inside the company and one ip outside the company. Is it possible that I have one static ip configured for both internal access and external access or is there any otherway it can be done with sendmail.   • Sending emails with Thunderbird + Postfix + Zarafa does not work

    I installed zarafa on my vserver and use as MTA postfix. The webaccess works fine, I can revceive and send emails, also receiving mails with thunderbird (IMAP ssl/tls) works. But there is a problem, sending emails with thunderbird. I established an account in thunderbird with imap ssl/tls connection which works finde, and a starttls smtp connection on port 25 for the outgoing mail server.   • Postfix qmgr process causes heavy overload on mailservers

    We are using Postfix as MTA for our e-mailmarketing software and once in a while we see that the load on one of the mailservers rises above 5. The load is caused by the qmgr-process which is the heart of Postfix and I see that it is consuming a lot of CPU resources. The process seems to be stuck because after 15 minutes it is still doing the samething and still increasing the load. Once I restart the postfix service the load rapidly decreases to below 1 and Postfix continues to send e-mails without any problems. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and if people have suggestions on how to prevent it. The problem shows up on all our mailservers but almost never at more than 1 at the time. It seems to be triggered only when we are sending a mailing but the size (10 or 100.000 e-mails doesn't seem to make a difference). It maybe happens once a week or even less often and the time and day is also different every time. We tried to solve the problem by decreasing the amount of messages qmgr is allowed to process but this didn't solve it. We are using Postfix 2.5.5 on Debian Lenny 5.0.8 (postfix is installed through the default Debian repository). No special messages can be found in the logs (syslog, messages, mail.*).
