  • Formatted HTML as output from method invocation from JMX HTTP page

    - by Dutch
Hi, Is there a way to return HTML from a method which gets called from the JMX HTTP page. I have a huge set of data and want to display the data with some formatting. The following code does not work: @ManagedOperation(description = "return html") @ManagedOperationParameters({@ManagedOperationParameter(name = "someVal", description = "text")}) public List returnAsHtml(String someVal) { return ""+someValblah"; } Looks like JMX escapes the returned script before throwing it to the browser.

  • Algorithm for deciding price ranges.

    - by Paul Knopf
I am looking for code that will take a huge list of numbers, and calculate price ranges correctly. There must be some algorithm that will choose the proper ranges, no? I am looking for this code in c#, but any language will do (I can convert). Thanks in advance!

  • Cassandra or MySQL/PostgreSQL?

    - by Ivri
Hi! I have huge database (kinda wordnet). And want to know if it's easier to use Cassandra instead of MySQL|PostrgreSQL All my life I was using MySQL and PostrgreSQL and I could easily think in terms of relational algebra, but several weeks ago I learned about cassandra and that it's used in facebook and twitter. Is it more convenient? What DBMS are usually used nowadays to store social net's data, relationships between objects, wordnet?

  • Internet Explorer Rage?

    - by DMin
I know Internet Explorer is a huge irritating thing for a lot of us - especially IE6. What is the most interesting/extreme thing you've done/fantasized-doing as a result of outrage for (re-)coding for Internet Explorer?

  • Framework for adding users/groups/permissions functionality to an application (possibly integrating

    - by vfilby
I am looking to see if there is a good library or framework that I can use to simplify adding user/group/permission management to a .Net application (4.0 VS2010). If the framework can work on it's own or integrate with Active Directory that would be a huge bonus. So far I have found Visual Guard, if you have any experience using Visual Guard to provide user/group/permission functionality I definitely want to hear your feedback on how you liked working with it, pitfalls and benefits

  • C++ display stack trace on exception

    - by rlbond
I want to have a way to report the stack trace to the user if an exception is thrown. What is the best way to do this? Does it take huge amounts of extra code? To answer questions: I'd like it to be portable if possible. I want information to pop up, so the user can copy the stack trace and email it to me if an error comes up.

  • Safely get rid of "You have new mail in /var/mail" on a Mac?

    - by viatropos
I was messing around with sendmail in Rails a year ago and have had this message popping up in the terminal after every command ever since: You have new mail in /var/mail/Lance How do I properly get rid of that so the message goes away? I ever use any of that functionality and don't have mail on my computer. There's one file in /var/mail called lance, and it's huge. Can I just remove it?

  • Avoiding a large number of custom EventArgs?

    - by Brian Ortiz
The class library I'm refactoring has a large number of events (over 50) each with its own Delegate, even though many have the same arguments. I starting switching them all over to use EventHandler and custom EventArgs but it is proving to be tedious and time consuming. Is there an easier way to handle a situation like this, when you have a huge number of events?

  • Query performance difference pl/sql forall insert and plain SQL insert

    - by user289429
We have been using temporary table to store intermediate results in pl/sql Stored procedure. Could anyone tell if there is a performance difference between doing bulk collect insert through pl/sql and a plain SQL insert. Insert into or Cursor for open cursor fetch cursor bulk collect into collection Use FORALL to perform insert Which of the above 2 options is better to insert huge amount of temporary data?

  • Sparse quadratic program solver

    - by Jacob
This great SO answer points to a good sparse solver, but I've got constraints on x (for Ax = b) such that each element in x is >=0 an <=N. The first thing which comes to mind is an QP solver for large sparse matrices. Also, A is huge (around 2e6x2e6) but very sparse with <=4 elements per row. Any ideas/recommendations?

  • Java constructor with large arguments or Java bean getter/setter approach

    - by deelo55
Hi, I can't decide which approach is better for creating objects with a large number of fields (10+) (all mandatory) the constructor approach of the getter/setter. Constructor at least you enforce that all the fields are set. Java Beans easier to see which variables are being set instead of a huge list. The builder pattern DOES NOT seem suitable here as all the fields are mandatory and the builder requires you put all mandatory parameters in the builder constructor. Thanks, D

  • Example compilers

    - by saf
I'm searching for the source code of a compiler capable of creating Win32 programs from an input program in a programming language (It doesn't matter which, maybe the simpler the better) Yet I can't find anything right for me and huge compilers like GCC make me extremely confused as they have so many features that I don't know where to start. Is there an OpenSource Win32 micro-compiler for some programming language out there I could take a look at?

  • Efficiently finding the shortest path in large graphs

    - by Björn Lindqvist
I'm looking to find a way to in real-time find the shortest path between nodes in a huge graph. It has hundreds of thousands of vertices and millions of edges. I know this question has been asked before and I guess the answer is to use a breadth-first search, but I'm more interested in to know what software you can use to implement it. For example, it would be totally perfect if it already exist a library (with python bindings!) for performing bfs in undirected graphs.
