  • SQL Duplicates Issue SQL SERVER 2000

    I have two tables : Product and ProductRateDetail. The parent table is Product. I have duplicate records in the product table which need to be unique. There are entries in the ProductRateDetail table which correspond to duplicate records in the product table. Somehow I need to update the ProductRateDetail table to match the original (older) ID from the Product table and then remove the duplicates from the product table.   • Obtaining reference to Class instance by string name - VB.NET

    Is it possible using Reflection or some other method to obtain a reference to a specific class instance from the name of that class instance? For example the framework for the applications i develop heavily uses public class instances such as: Public bMyreference as MyReference = new MyReference Then throughout the application bMyReference is used by custom controls and code. One of the properties of the custom controls is the "FieldName" which references a Property in these class instances (bMyReference.MyField) as a string. What i would like to be able to do is analyze this string "bMyReference.MyField" and then refer back to the actual Instance/Property. In VB6 I would use an EVAL or something simular to convert the string to an actual object but this obviously doesn't work in VB.net What I'm picturing is something like this Dim FieldName as String = MyControl.FieldName ' sets FielName to bMyReference.MyField Dim FieldObject() as String = FieldName.Split(".") ' Split into the Object / Property Dim myInstance as Object = ......... ' Obtain a reference to the Instance and set as myInstance Dim myProperty = myInstance.GetType().GetProperty(FieldObject(1))

    I'm trying to add little icons to my tabs in WPF but having trouble with how to set up the binding. <TabItem.Header> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="{Binding Source=prop:Resources.eye}" /> <Label VerticalAlignment="Center">Header</Label> </StackPanel> </TabItem.Header> The xmlns:prop is set up for the local project's Properties, I am pulling other values from it elsewhere so I know that the namespace works. The markup above compiles fine BUT I don't see the eye image in the tab. Also, is there any way to set this up into a template? I'm fairly new to XAML/WPF and each tab will have its own image...

  • Java: How to make this main thread wait for the new thread to terminate

    I have a java class that creates a process, called child, using ProcessBuilder. The child process generates a lot of output that I am draining on a separate thread to keep the main thread from getting blocked. However, a little later on I need to wait for the output thread to complete/terminate before going on, and I'm not sure how to do that. I think that join() is the usual way to do this but I'm not sure how to do that in this case.     I have a query that returns one row. However, I want to invert the rows and columns, meaning show the rows as columns and columns as rows. I think the best way to do this is to use a pivot table, which I am no expert in. Here is my simple query: SELECT Period1, Period2, Period3 FROM GL.Actuals WHERE Year = 2009 AND Account = '001-4000-50031' Results (with headers): Period1, Period2, Period3 612.58, 681.36, 676.42 I would like for the results to look like this: Desired Results: Period, Amount Period1, 612.58 Period2, 681.36 Period3, 676.42 This is a simple example, but what I'm really after is a bit more comlex than this. I realize I could produce theses results by using several SELECT commands instead. I'm just hoping someone can shine some light on how to accomplish this with a Pivot Table or if there is yet a better way.

  • response.redirect to classic asp failing

    I have the following code pasted below. For some reason, the response.redirect seems to be failing and it is maxing out the cpu on my server and just doesn't do anything. The .net code uploads the file fine, but does not redirect to the asp page to do the processing. I know this is absolute rubbish why would you have .net code redirecting to classic asp, it is a legacy app. I have tried putting false or true etc. at the end of the redirect as I have read other people have had issues with this. Please help as it's driving me insane!   • swap a div to an embed form when user tweets using the @anywhere function box

    I'm using the @anywhere twitter function on the front page of my site (vocabbomb.com) and right now it works great to allow users to tweet straight away. Problem is, when they click tweet, it just reloads the twitter box, empty. I want it to load something new, like a "thank you, now fill in this email form" and show a mailchimp form. Ok so this is the @anywhere code currently working fine: <div id="tbox"></div> <script type="text/javascript"> twttr.anywhere(function (T) { T("#tbox").tweetBox({ height: 100, width: 400, defaultContent: " #vocabbomb", label: "Use the word foo in a tweet:", }); }); </script> So this is fine, and when the user writes a tweet, it just re-displays the twitter box.   • Exception calling UpdateModel - Value cannot be null or empty

    This is probably something silly I'm missing but I'm definitely lost. I'm using .NET 4 RC and VS 2010. This is also my first attempt to use UpdateModel in .NET 4, but every time I call it, I get an exception saying Value cannont be null or empty. I've got a simple ViewModel called LogOnModel: [MetadataType(typeof(LogOnModelMD))] public class LogOnModel { public string Username { get; set; } public string Password { get; set; } public class LogOnModelMD { [StringLength(3), Required] public object Username { get; set; } [StringLength(3), Required] public object Password { get; set; } } } My view uses the new strongly typed helpers in MVC2 to generate a textbox for username and one for the password. When I look at FormCollection in my controller method, I see values for both coming through. And last but not least, here's are post controller methods: // POST: /LogOn/ [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(FormCollection form) { var lm = new LogOnModel(); UpdateModel(lm, form); var aservice = new AuthenticationService(); if (!aservice.AuthenticateLocal(lm.Username, lm.Password)) { ModelState.AddModelError("User", "The username or password submitted is invalid, please try again."); return View(lm); } return Redirect("~/Home"); } Can someone please lend some insight into why UpdateModel would be throwing this exception?     I have properties called reel1, reel2, reel3, and reel4. How can I dynamically reference these properties by just passing an integer (1-4) to my method? Specifically, I am looking for how to get an object reference without knowing the name of the object. In Javascript, I would do: temp = eval("reel" + tempInt); and temp would be equal to reel1, the object. Can't seem to figure this simple concept out in C#.

  • Convert SQL to LINQ in MVC3 with Ninject

    I'm using MVC3 and still learning LINQ. I'm having some trouble trying to convert a query to LINQ to Entities. I want to return an employee object. This seems to work fine in SQL. I'm also using Ninject and set my query to return Ienumerable. I played around with the group by option but it then returns IGroupable. Any guidance on converting and returning the property object type would be appreciated.   • Rails 3 NameError (cannot remove Object::Version) error

    Can anyone point me at what might be causing this error? There is no ApplicationTrace, and it locks the server hard on my development machine. I think it has something to do with the way rails reloads your classes in development mode, and it appears to have something to do with a Version constant. I can't find a reference to this though.   • Where do I attach the StoreKit delegate and observer in a Cocos2d App?

    I have figured out how all of the StoreKit stuff works and have actually tested working code... however, I have a problem. I made my "store" layer/scene the SKProductsRequestDelegate. Is this the correct thing to do? I get the initial product info like so: SKProductsRequest *productRequest = [[SKProductsRequest alloc] initWithProductIdentifiers: productIDs]; [productRequest setDelegate: self]; [productRequest start]; The problem is that if I transition to a new scene when a request is in progress, the current layer is retained by the productRequest. This means that touches on my new scene/layer are handled by both the new layer and the old layer. I could cancel the productRequest when leaving the scene, but: I do not know if it is in progress at that point. I cannot release it because it may or may not have been released by the request delegates. There has got to be a better way to do this. I could make the delegate a class external to the current layer, but then I do not know how to easily update the layer with the product information when the handler is called.
