• Where should common static resources (images, js, css, etc) go in DotNetNuke?

  Is there a recommended location to store static resources (images, css, js, etc) in a DotNetNuke 5.x installation? There are /images and /js folders as well as a /Resources folder that contains resources. There appears to be some overlap as MicrosoftAjax.js is in multiple locations (but might be different versions?). I also could put resources in a /DesktopModule/ModuleX location. Does anyone know if there is a difference in using any of these folders? I kinda like the idea of all static resources being under a common folder (/Resources) so I could set caching rule headers, permissions, etc on them in one place. • Can I use a static var to "cache" the result? C++

  I am using a function that returns a char*, and right now I am getting the compiler warning "returning address of local variable or temporary", so I guess I will have to use a static var for the return, my question is can I make something like if(var already set) return var else do function and return var? Is this technique causing threading issues where the class instances can block each other? • Unit testing of static library that involves NSDocumentDirectory and other iOS App specific calls.

  Hi, I'm attempting to run unit tests for a static library that attempts to create/write/read a file in the document directory. Since this is a static library and not an application for the iOS, attempts to reference the NSDocumentDirectory is returning me directory for the form "/Users//Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/Documents" This directory does not exist. When attempting to access a directory from an actual application, the NSDocumentDirectory returns something of the form: "/Users//Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/FEDBEF5F-1326-4383-A087-CDA1B865E61A/Documents" (Please note the simulator version as well as application ID as part of the path) How can I overcome this shortcoming in the unit test framework for static libraries that implement tests that require iOS app specific calls? • Header unset Server not working for static files

  I'm trying to unset the "Server" field in response headers. I do this using Header unset Server, and that works fine for requests handled by mod_perl. However, for requests to /static I use Apache to serve static files. For some reason, when these files are loaded directly in the browser, the Server field is not removed. How can I go about fixing this?   The current release of Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, though in technology preview, brings Oracle ADF binding to the Eclipse IDE. You can download the Software from the link below: Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (12.1.1.1.0) Technical Preview New June 2012 Certified on Windows 7/XP/Vista, MacOS, and Linux. Supported on JDK 6. For many Eclipse users, ADF is new and therefore I expect them to need guidance and help in case they run into issues they don't know how to recover from. Similar, ADF users familiar with Oracle JDeveloper that want to give OEPE a try, will find things different in Eclipse and thus may have questions.  For both audiences I suggest to post issues to the OEPE forum on the Oracle Technology Network: I'll extend my OTN monitoring to include the OEPE forum on a daily basis to learn about developer needs, requirements and - of course - to catch bugs that need to be filed. • Box2D Static-Dynamic body joint eliminates collisions

  I have a static body A, and a dynamic body B, and a dynamic body C. A is filtered to not collide with anything, B and C collide with each other. I wish to create a joint between B and A. When I create a joint (ex. revolute), B no longer collides with C - C passes through it as if it does not exist. What am I doing wrong? How can adding a joint prevent a body from colliding with another body it used to? EDIT: I want to join B with A, and have B collide with C, but not A collide with C. In realistic terms, I'm trying to create a revolute joint between a wheel (B) and a wall (A), and have a box (C) hit the wheel and the wheel would then rotate. • Cannot ping static ip on eth1

  I am trying to ping the network interface I have set up for eth1. This is my config: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 broadcast 192.168.1.255 If I ping 192.168.1.2, I get: Ping 192.168.1.2 (192.168.1.2) 56(84) bytes of data. From 192.168.1.3 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable Results of ifconfig tell me that the IPv4 address is 192.168.1.3. I can ping this ip. Bcast and Mask are as expected (same as in definition). I can ping 192.168.1.3 from my macbook. I cannot ping 192.168.1.2 locally or from my macbook. Any ideas why?

• Static Application Switcher is empty after show dekstop

  Im using the Static Application Switcher to configure my ALT + TAB to cycle trough all applications not grouped. So far so good. Then I press Super + D to "hide all normal windows" (show desktop). This setting is from Keyboard - Shortcuts - Navigation. This also works BUT After hide all normal windows has been activated and I press ALT + TAB nothing comes up. I suspect they have been hidden so well that the Application Switcher does not longer sees them. Anyone know if this can be fixed trough settings somewhere?

• C++ Building Static Library Project with a Folder Structure

  I'm working on some static libraries using visual studio 2012, and after building I copy .lib and .h files to respective directories to match a desired hierarchy such as: drive:/libraries/libname/includes/libname/framework drive:/libraries/libname/includes/libname/utitlies drive:/libraries/libname/lib/... etc I'm thinking something similar to the boost folder layout. I have been doing this manually so far. My library solution contains projects, and when I update and recompile I simply recopy files where they need to be. Is there a simpler way to do this? Perhaps a way to compile the project with certain rules per project as to where the projects .h and .lib files should go?

  how can i move static box2d sprites. i have tried this tutorial from . http://www.raywenderlich.com/475/how-to-create-a-simple-breakout-game-with-box2d-and-cocos2d-tutorial-part-12. I managed to add another "paddle" object with box2d body, but i can seam to be able to make the code to move the second "paddle" body. Can anyone direct me how to do it? Is there a way to move a "b2_staticBody" box 2d object? i have tried, but i can only move it when i use "b2_dynamicBody" if i used "b2_staticBody" i can move it at all.

• Designing business objects, and gui actions

  Developing a product ordering system using Java SE 6. The previous implementations used combo boxes, text fields, and check boxes. Preforming validation on action events from the GUI. The validation includes limiting existing combo boxes items, or even availability. The issue in the old system was that the action was received and all rules were applied to the entire business object. This resulted in a huge event change as options were changed multiple times. To be honest I have no idea how an infinite loop wasn't produced. Through the next iteration I stepped in and attempted to limit the chaos by controlling the order in which the selections could be made. Making configuration of BO's a top down approach. I implemented custom box models, action events, beans/binding, and an MVC pattern. However I still am unable to fully isolate action even chains. I'm thinking that I've approached the whole concept backwards in an attempt to stay closest to what was already in place. So the question becomes what do I design instead? I'm currently considering an implementation of Interfaces, Beans, Property Change Listeners to manage the back and forth. Other thoughts were validation exceptions, dynamic proxies.... I'm sure there are a ton of different ways. To say that one way is right is crazy, and I'm sure it will take a blending of multiple patterns. My knowledge of swing/awt validation is limited, previously I did backend logic only. Other considerations are were some sort of binding(jgoodies or otherwise) to directly bind GUI state to BO's.

• Static HTML to Wordpress Migration SEO Implications?

  Recently, I migrated a client's site to a new server and a new home within wordpress so they could more easily edit their website and start a blog section. The static site was 10 years old a was showing up at place #3 for it's primary keyword, consistently, according to my client, and has dropped to rank #6-8 following the migration. At launch, we made sure the urls were identical (save the removal of ".htm" which we used 301 redirects to compensate for) and we generated a new XML map and pinged google with the new site. We keep a 404 log to make sure we're not losing any incoming links. We also have Google Webmaster Tools on this site and have zero errors/suggestions, everything seems ok. I was told by numerous sources that Google would not penalize us for the use of 301s, but it's the only thing I can think of right now that is different about the site, other than the platform. Any ideas about what we could be getting docked for?

• Android SQLiteConstraintException: error code 19: constraint failed

  I've seen other questions about this exception, but all of them seem to be resolved with the solution that a row with the primary key specified already exists. This doesn't seem to be the case for me. I have tried replacing all single quotes in my strings with double quotes, but the same problem occurs.   Not sure if this question belongs here or on SO, but posting here for now :) I'm trying to override a global function defined in "StaticLib" for my iOS application but the compiler keeps giving me the duplicate symbol error. Relevant code: #import "MyApplication.h" #import "StaticLib.h" NSData* getAllData() { NSLog(@"myGetAllData"); return nil; } @implementation MyApplication ... @end I've looked into Apple's runtime library but that all seems to be class-oriented. Any suggestions or is it just not possible to override global functions from static libraries?

  Let's create a databound combobox, levering MVC in a desktop application. The result will be a combobox, provided by the NetBeans ChoiceView, that displays data retrieved from a database: What follows is not much different from the NetBeans Platform CRUD Application Tutorial and you're advised to consult that document if anything that follows isn't clear enough. One kind of interesting thing about the instructions that follow is that it shows that you're able to create an application where each element of the MVC architecture can be located within a separate module: Start by creating a new NetBeans Platform application named "MyApplication". Model We're going to start by generating JPA entity classes from a database connection. In the New Project wizard, choose "Java Class Library". Click Next. Name the Java Class Library "MyEntities". Click Finish. Right-click the MyEntities project, choose New, and then select "Entity Classes from Database". Work through the wizard, selecting the tables of interest from your database, and naming the package "entities". Click Finish. Now a JPA entity is created for each of the selected tables. In the Project Properties dialog of the project, choose "Copy Dependent Libraries" in the Packaging panel. Build the project. In your project's "dist" folder (visible in the Files window), you'll now see a JAR, together with a "lib" folder that contains the JARs you'll need. In your NetBeans Platform application, create a module named "MyModel", with code name base "org.my.model". The problem is that it isn't using DHCP addressing and I can't just use the default ip address of 192.168.1.1. I have to use the ip address it was set at before it got bricked. The problem is I forgot what that number was. Is there some program or script that can find it out?

• Are there any negative impact running all services on a single static IP?

  I need to setup a VPN trunk (with remote branch office location), Video Conference and Web Server on-premise in the office. I am used to ISP providing blocks of 8 or 16 IPs. But I have a new ISP which says they only can provide a single IP. Are there any issues with running all services on a single IP? I don't think this has any thing to do with bandwidth..? I'm not using SSL certificates... I can do port forwarding to different machines... What else...? Disclaimer: I am a programmer by training. Sorry for noob question.

• Dynamic ARP Entries turning into Static ARP entries

  I recently acquired a client that has a strange ARP caching issue on one of thier servers. I have a server that will eventually start turning it's dynamic ARP entries into static ARP entries. This causes problems because when the machine that has a static ARP entries on this server receives a new IP via DHCP, then the server is not able to communicate with the clients. Clearing the ARP cache resolves the issue and the server is fine for about a week and then it starts slowly turning ARP entries into static ARP entries. I haven't narrowed it down to when or how many it starts to do, but slowly you start seeing 1 static ARP and then 5 and then 10. The server in question is a Windows Server 2003 SP2. It is a DC, DHCP, and DNS server. I've checked the DHCP scope options and there's nothing in there that would indicate anything to do with static ARP entries. The only thing different between this DNS server and our other DNS server is that the 'Dynamically Update DNA A and PTR records for DHCP clients that do not request updates' is checked on the problematic server. I've done a bit of research about this and it seems that this may happen if any PXE type services are running, from what I can tell, there is nothing running a PXE server. I'm a bit lost as I have never seen dynamic ARP entries start to turn into static ARP entries. Right now my solution is a schedule task that runs every 24 hours to clear the ARP cache (arp -d *). I would like to not rely on this schedule task. Has anybody seen this before or have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

  In AWStats under: "Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)" it has generated a list of pages that had linked to my page. I see pages like: Bing, YouTube, HotFrog, etc.. However, there are many internal links within the pages.
