• Setting user calendar permissions on Exchange 2007

  We have Exchange 2007 with about 100 users. I would like to change everyone's free/busy permissions to grant Reviewer status to a specific AD group. I have tried PFDAVAdmin tool but when I commit any changes, they do not affect the users. If I grant myself Reviewer permissions to another user's calendar using the tool, I still cannot view that user's free/busy details, and I also don't show up on the list of people with permissions on that user's Outlook calendar options. It seems like PFDAVAdmin simply appears to do something, but doesn't actually change anything. Is there any other way for me to accomplish what I need to do? Or is there something I may not be doing right with PFDAVAdmin? • Microsoft Excel 2007 constantly calculating sheets

  I believe this happening for two weeks now: Excel 2007 (on Windows XP) is acting funny on my computer; any medium sized sheet with some formulas in it takes a significant amount of time recalculating. I can see this because the "calculating: 2 processors xx%" message was almost unseen before and now it appears on most operations like calculating a formula (on one cell), saving, previewing, etc. If the sheet is complex (lots of formulas) I have to disable automatic calculations because excel renders as unusable - it hangs for a really long time, measureable in minutes. Any idea on what may be causing this? ps: this is a Core2 Duo computer with 2 Gb of RAM

  Hi Team, While preparing a Word 2007 document, I made a mistake. (Not to say I don't have any other copy of the document) While formatting (as a try) I applied the style "Apply Style to Body to match selection". This caused the document to go totally in a wronfg format - having numbers even in tables. Have you ever faced this? Could you please tell how to correct it?   Hi, I have installed Windows Virtual PC 2007 on my Windows 2003 R2 Server. I have installed a virtual Windows XP. I have configured the virtual PC to use Shared Networking (NAT) I have disabled the firewall on the virtual windows XP The problem: I am unable to PING from Windows 2003 (the host) to the Windows XP (virtual) I do have normal traffic from the virtual to the internet Could this problem be related to routing? How I can I fix this network configuration to allow for the following traffic: 1. From Virtual to Internet 2. From Host to Virtual 3. • How secure is Microsoft 2007's encryption?

  I've read some various articles about Microsoft's encryption, and from what I gather, 2007 is secure using all default options due to it using AES, and 2000 and 2003 can be configured secure by changing the default algorithm to AES. I was wondering if anyone else has read any other articles or know of any specific vulnerabilities involved with how they implement the encryption. I would like to be able to tell users that they can use this to send semi sensitive documents as long as they use AES and a strong password. Thanks for the information.

Problem is, I need to make sure the clients don't see the library. There is sensitive data that will be on these forms. I also need to have a repeated library that is based on the Internal Admin records and requirements. Outside of making a seperate library per customer, does anyone have any suggestions? My Goal: 1: Customers enter their requests through a link or provided page 2: Internally address the requests and perform required arrangements, add billing and payment fields 3: Have SharePoint metrics, reports, etc... based on the provided intormation and status.   After a copy/paste mishap in Microsoft Word 2007, I ended up with text looking like this: This line breaks up here continues here, and so on here, when it should all be in a single line without all the random whitespace. I confirmed that there are paragraph separators and extra whitespace between each line - probably due to hard-coded newlines in the original source. Is there a (preferrably easy) way to merge paragraphs in Microsoft Word? Is there a way to re-format a paragraph so that extraneous whitespace is removed? I can change the flush style, but the whitespace remains. I (obviously?) do not have any experience with Word, being more of a TeX person, but I have been searching Google and crawling the menus for a few hours and I have yet to find a solution...

• Distributing application updates using SCCM 2007

  Hi all, If there are any System Center Config Manager (SCCM) users out there, please clarify my doubt here. I have used the ConfigMgr console to distribute a custom application to a client machine. Now I need to distribute some updated files of that application. Isnt's it possible to add those files in the same package source used earlier and advertise again? Or should I use the SCCM software update section for this? Not sure if its only me, but the Software distribution process looks much easier than the Software Updates process in SCCM 2007. Please do let me know if there any online tutorials which explain how to update a custom application. Any help much appreciated.

• Virtual PC 2007 Full Screen Resolution

  I have a laptop (1440 x 900) and an external monitor (1920 x 1200), and I'm running Virtual PC 2007. Initially, my VPC could not switch to fullscreen mode on my external monitor because the max resolution for VPC was only 1600 x 1200. I installed a hotfix (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958162) and after the hotfix, I was able to view VPC in fullscreen mode on my external monitor, but now I'm unable to view fullscreen on my laptop. It says "please check that the resolution of the guest is not higher than that of the host". I even tried to decrease the resolution of my Virtual PC to less than than of my laptop, but it always resets it back up. So now after the hotfix, I can view fullscreen mode only when my external monitor is plugged in. Any way I can resolve this?

  If a 'friend' has double-clicked an Excel attachment from an Outlook 2007 email and worked on it, saved it and then closed Excel and the email, where would that file be lurking (assuming I haven't exited Outlook? I seem to remember Outlook 2003 putting stuff in %username%\Local Setings\Temporary Internet Files in OLK prefixed folders, but no sign of anything relevant looking in there. I'm he's on Windows XP. Update Temporary folder eventually found in: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook but need to navigate directly to this folder via pasting into 'Run...' dialog or Explorer to see it. Unfortunately, Outlook deletes the attchment when you close the email.

  I have an sbs 2008 server with exchange 2007, its running the MS spam filters which picks up the spam fine, however a lot of senders cannot send email to the recipients of the sbs2008 server until they have been emailed first and then that only applies to that one recipient (some form of aggregated white list). I have tried to track the messages using the built in tools on exchange 2007 but I am not having much joy! Any ideas?

When am using Outlook Web Access and I receive MS Office 2007 attachments from some colleagues, OWA requires me to save the file, rather than it opening with a double-click. When I "Save Target As..." it gives only the option to save as "Compressed (Zip) File" even though the filename appears as "filename.xlsx" Then, when I open the saved folder, the filename does not appear anywhere. Ideas?

  To my surprise and delight I read that an adminsitrator can import (nearly directly) an Access 2007 database into a sharepoint site. Automagically, the database in transformed into lists and views with some table lookup thrown in for good measure. With Access 2007 installed on the client machine, even the forms and what not can still be reused. To me... this sounds to good to be true. Has anyone actually dones this? With all this good news, where is the bad stuff and pitfalls to this. Depending on the size of the database, wouldn't this some how "gum up the works" in the SharPoint database? But I want to use a free driver to do my work. The purpose of my job is to transfer daily (weekly) an Oracle 11g database with data from an existing database MS ACCESS 2007. • Need Help Accessing the Vista Wampserver localhost from Virtual PC 2007 running an XP VM.

  (I had posted this on stack overflow but it was suggested there that I post it here instead). I have a Vista laptop on which I'm running wampserver. I have Virtual PC 2007 setup with Windows XP running on the VM. My goal is to be able to use the XP VM to run IE6 to view the localhost in the Vista wampserver. I'm not interested in having the XP VM have any access to the internet -- only to my Vista wampserver's localhost. The vista wampserver works fine. As suggested on a blog I read, I installed the loopback adapter on Vista and I set the loopback to 192.168.21.1 and I set the xp vm ip to 192.168.21.2. I am able to successfully ping the vista-loopback adapter from the xp vm. I've turned the wampserver to "server online", and I've disabled the firewalls in both the vista host and the xp vm. But for some reason, I still can't seem to get the virtual XP to see the localhost on the vista wampserver. I've tried using the vista //name, and I've tried the ip 192.168.21.1 directly and with the port. For whatever its worth, I'm not able to see anything under the XM VM's network places (though I don't know if I'm supposed to be able to see anything). So at this point I'm stuck and I'm still not sure how to get this XP VM to "talk" to my vista wampserver localhost. Any advice on how to fix this problem is much appreciated.   On our Citrix farm, I just found out that some sub-components are "Installed on 1st Use" (Advertised), which does play well on terminal servers. Not only that, but you also get a rather non-descriptive error message, when a document tried to use a component, which is "Installed on 1st Use" (described on Plan to deploy Office 2010 in a Remote Desktop Services environment): Microsoft Office cannot run this add-in. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning correctly. Please contact your system administrator. • Outlook 2007, how to stop replies from being sent if they meet criteria

  I have my college's email account auto-forwarded (they don't offer pop3 or imap) to my main gmail account so I don't have to go to their website to check for mail. That gmail account, and others, use pop3 down to my Outlook 2007. In my Outlook, I have a rule that puts mail sent to my @college address into a folder named Collegemail. Since the college email system lacks pop3 or imap, I have to go to their site to send a reply, so that the reply will be sent from my @college email address. The problem is that I cannot seem to get into the habit of going to my college's website to reply to those emails, so quite often I reply to them while in Outlook, which means my replies are sent "from" my main gmail address. How can I set up Outlook to either 1) disable replying to emails in the Collegemail folder or to emails where my college email address is in the original To: line, or else 2) set it to send those replies from a non-functional dummy account. The dummy account would be unable to send the email so the email would be stuck in the Outbox. (I already have the non-functional dummy account set up as Outlook's "Default" account. When I compose a new mail I have to deliberately pick one of my good accounts to send the new mail with, or else Outlook uses the default dummy account and the email stays in the Outbox with a Send error.)
