    Possible Duplicates: Is there a software alternative to Mac OS X built in internet sharing services? How to troubleshoot problems sharing internet connection via WiFi on Mac OS X Me and my wife both have MacBooks (one regular, one MackBook Pro). We're staying in temporary accommodation with no internet so we got one of those mobile broadband USB dongles.     Assume I have around 50 Cisco IE2000 Switches connected together and I want to reconfigure some settings, the same settings for every switch. Normally I would open a command line session via Putty and paste the commands. But as the number of switches is growing, even this method takes its time. I am aware of Kiwi CatTools. Unfortunately it's not free so I'm wondering if there are other efficient ways to configure a large number of Cisco switches.

  • Apple, Time Capsule: can I use it for servers ?

    hi, i was wondering if I can use Time Capsule from a server. Let's say I have an ubuntu server, and I'm running some websites and web applications on it. I would install these appications on ubuntu but then store the "file folders" of each website or application (with images, videos, etc.. ) on Airport capsule and leave only the application files on the server.     On the laptop I have, I've had to buy a new Li-Ion batter roughly every year. I do use this computer quite a lot, but I'm wondering if this is normal. Right now, my battery is completely dead (it lasts for about 0.1 seconds), so I plan on buying a new one soon. Is there anything you can do to prevent Li-Ion batteries from going dead so quickly?

    I have a keyboard with some types of extra keys, such as multimedia (play, pause, stop ,..), turn off, and etc. some times it's annoying with a "exit button" just right beside arrows that accidentally presses, and programs gonna close, and some other similar problems.   • chroot on OSX as a different OS

    I was wondering if anyone has been able to use chroot on OSX to run another OS (ubuntu, centos). I know that they are very different, but almost everything I want to use this for wouldn't care about anything at the level of the kernel, so was hoping there would be a way to do this without using a VM. Based off my google searches, I see this question is asked, but no real answer other than "try a VM". Would really like to do this without a VM though.

Poor asset tracking has left me with a couple of un-locatable machines and I would like to know who used them last.   • Audit success in event log from not administrator IP - is that immediately a hack success indicator?

    I checked event log today and between mass of failed audit events I found some successes which originated from not my country. However they look a little weird and no process is specified, while when I logon using RDP it says winlogon.exe I am wondering whether that means my system was compromised or there are good variants and it doesnt mean its all that bad. I am using a VPS solution if thats useful.

My first culprit was io but iostat shows that on average iowait consumes only %3.60 of cpu time. here is the complete result of issuing iostat: avg-cpu: %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 65.78 0.00 8.52 3.60 0.00 22.10 Device: tps Blk_read/s Blk_wrtn/s Blk_read Blk_wrtn sda 42.36 138.28 1754.70 408630278 5185216128 So I am wondering if the iowait is within acceptable range, and if not, whether switching from SATA to SSD would dramatically reduce it?
