  • Magento, NGINX, PHP-FPM, APC, MEMCACHED, 16gb Ram CentOS, Spiking PHP-FPM to 100% CPU

    I have been trying to resolve my issue of spiking cpu caused by php-fpm processes. I've reduced the php-fpm config settings to: pm = ondemand pm.max_children = 12 pm.start_servers = 2 pm.min_spare_servers = 2 pm.max_spare_servers = 10 pm.max_requests = 500 php_admin_value[memory_limit] = 128M Problem still exists. I'm running a Joomla main site (which is having no problems) and a Magento store in a sub-directory. My server is a Linux CentOS, running NGINX, APC, Memcached, Full Page Cache and php-fpm. My server has 8 cores and 16gb dedicated ram. My host has shut down my server several times the past week because my php-fpm processes are consuming the entire network. A lot of the individual php-fpm processes are getting over 50% cpu. I've hired several "professionals" and none of them was able to help me, so now broke and stumped, I'm turning to you guys for help. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. the server is not using much memory: Mem: 16777216k total, 1204040k used, 15573176k free My.conf settings: query_cache_size = 128M innodb_buffer_pool_size = 512M open-files-limit = 8192 table_cache=4096 I just noticed that someone changed my innodb_buffer_pool_size to 512M. Shouldn't this be set to 80% of available ram? So I have 16gb ram so it should be set at 12G; however, I set it at 10G. What do you think? I made that change and restart everything. Php-fpm is still spiking cpu. Here is just 1 php-fpm process: 23942 user 17 0 507m 99m 27m R 90.9%CPU 0.6 0:03.46 php-fpm I'm sure there may be more information you will need to help, so just let me know what you guys need to help me figure this out.     Hi, If I ask GMail to create a filter for a mailing list it creates a rule containing list:mailing-list-identifier, in the case of the NAnt mailing list it wrote: Has the words: list: "nant-users.lists.sourceforge.net" Is there a way to filter any mailing list? I would like to filter conversations from any mailing list containing answers to things I've previously asked (or answered to). Part of that filter is identifying "anything which is part of a mailing list" and I'm wondering if there is a better way than adding another label to all mailing list posts (which is cumbersome).

  • Detach a filter driver from certain drivers?

    The driver for my laptop's keyboard has a kernel-mode filter driver from Synaptics (SynTP.sys) attached. Is it possible to detach the SynTP.sys filter driver from my keyboard's driver, without detaching it from my Touchpad's driver? This Microsoft Support page explains how to completely disable a filter driver, but my touchpad requires SynTP.sys as well. I'm trying to do this is because the Synaptics driver disables my touchpad when I type. (Explained fully in this question: Use touchpad while "typing"?.) Since I don't have a solution to that problem, I figured removing the filter driver from the keyboard could prevent the Synaptics driver from detecting key strokes, thus stopping it from disabling the touchpad.

Something obvious like protocol == "TLSV1" or TCP.protocol == "TLSV1" is apparently not the right way. ip.proto == "TLSV1" says "ip.proto cannot accept strings as values" Update - additional tips: Another great but hidden search is on PacketLength: You can add packet length to your display by clicking "Edit Preferences" (menu or icon), and adding the PacketLength as a new column, but to filter on it you have to use the more cryptic: frame.len == ### where ### is your desired number. We were using this to determine how many packets had been sent and/or received, when you filter, the status-bar at the bottom of the screen shows the number of items matching the filter.

    My dev environment is Win XP SP2 / Apache 2.something PHP 5.something_or_other My prod env is Linux Ubuntu / Apache 2.something_else PHP 5.something_or_other_else The code is all Zend Framework Version: 1.11.1 I can telnet to: smtp.gmail.com 465 from the PC. I have Mercury configured on my PC to use gmail as it's smtp host and it works just fine. (MercuryC SMTP Client). Mercury is set to use port 465 and SSL on smtp.gmail.com -- No problem. Zend mail works just fine on my production environment using the production mail server to send out mail. It's the same basic application.ini but with different values in the mail variables. On my local PC dev setup, my application.ini contains: (same values as I use in Mercury) mail.templatePath = APPLICATION_PATH "/emails" mail.sender.name = "myAccount" mail.sender.email = "[email protected]" mail.host = smtp.gmail.com mail.smtp.auth = "login" mail.smtp.username = "[email protected]" mail.smtp.password = "myPassWord" mail.smtp.ssl = "ssl" mail.smtp.port = 465 I have been doing trial and error for hours trying to get a single email out with no success. In every case, regardless of server or port settings it throws an error and reports: Could not open socket. Both Apache and Mercury Core are exceptions in my Windows Firewall config. Mercury seems to be having no problem. I have searched stackoverflow before posting this and have been googling for hours -- with no success. I am slowly losing my mind I would be very much obliged for any tip as to what might be wrong.   • How to get XDebug working on Mac command line PHP

    I recently installed Zend Server Community Edition on a Mac with Snow Leopard. I can't get XDebug to work ... it shows up in the output for phpinfo from a web browser, but when I var_dump() a variable, there is no special output, and when I run phpunit, code coverage reports aren't generated. Also when I type php -m at the command line, there is nothing for XDebug. I suspect that it's because the Mac is running the executable of PHP that was bundled with it instead of the executable of PHP that came with the Zend Server install. When I type /usr/local/zend/bin/php -m, XDebug does show up. I followed the instructions at http://akrabat.com/php/some-notes-on-zend-server-ce-for-mac-os-x/. Also I downloaded the xdebug.so from the Komodo web site. Zend Debugger and all other Zend extensions are disabled. So how can I get XDebug working correctly?

  • Duplicate an AppEngine Query object to create variations of a filter without affecting the base quer

    In my AppEngine project I have a need to use a certain filter as a base then apply various different extra filters to the end, retrieving the different result sets separately. e.g.: base_query = MyModel.all().filter('mainfilter', 123) Then I need to use the results of various sub queries separately: subquery1 = basequery.filter('subfilter1', 'xyz') #Do something with subquery1 results here subquery2 = basequery.filter('subfilter2', 'abc') #Do something with subquery2 results here Unfortunately 'filter()' affects the state of the basequery Query instance, rather than just returning a modified version. Is there any way to duplicate the Query object and use it as a base? Is there perhaps a standard Python way of duping an object that could be used? The extra filters are actually applied by the results of different forms dynamically within a wizard, and they use the 'running total' of the query in their branch to assess whether to ask further questions. Obviously I could pass around a rudimentary stack of filter criteria, but I'd rather use the Query itself if possible, as it adds simplicity and elegance to the solution.

  • Struts2 + Sitemesh + Freemarker doesn't work

    I've tried following every example i ccould find and i can't get struts2 + sitemesh + freemarker to work on a simple jsp. I have a very simple web.xml, a single action that just goes to index.jsp, and a simple .ftl decorator that just adds some text to the result.     Ruby on Rails has a screencast presentation they use to promote their framework that shows how to code a basic weblog system in 15 minutes with RoR. Does the Zend PHP Framework have a similar screencast/presentation/whatever demonstrating something similar? It doesn't have to be a blog specifically, but I would definitely like to find a presentation that shows some rapid application development using ZF. Where I'm coming from: I have been programming on and off for years now. I started out with QBASIC waaaaay back in the day making little programs (text adventure games, screensavers, simple little things). I then moved to C++ but never really did anything too impressive with it. Since then (probably 5 years or so now) I have started to use C# for my desktop development and PHP for my web development. I've made some pretty cool tools here and there, but am certainly not a professional programmer by any stretch of the term as it has always simply been a hobby of mine. Right now I have two major web applications that I will start work on shortly. (Like tomorrow, or later tonight ideally.. :) ) Both will be database-driven apps that will require user registration, the ability to manipulate data that is specific to their account (their posts, listings, user account details, etc), amongst other things. Currently I am evaluating different frameworks to help me develop these web apps more quickly. I've been looking at, and have heard good things about Ruby on Rails. Hulu and YellowPages.com using it is an obvious endorsement - Of course, I have heard about the scalability issues that it potentially has; but that shouldn't be an issue with what I am working on. I don't expect millions of users per day for either project. I am also seriously looking at the Zend Framework for my needs because I already have some experience with PHP. Ideally I would like to find a ZF screencast that shows an app being written quickly so that I have a roughly equal comparison between the two options I am exploring and can see first-hand how things get done in both. That said - I am not opposed to considering frameworks other than RoR or ZF. The only research I've done on the subject has been over the past couple of days so I am quite certain that there are other excellent options out there that I've not even looked at - or heard of. Of course, it'd be awesome if there is a rapid app dev presentation that I can watch for whatever else is suggested. So - Suggestions? Links to good screencasts that show rapid application development in other frameworks? Are there other PHP frameworks that I should be considering? (Ones that are easy to deploy would be ideal, so I don't have to purchase a dedicated server that I have full control over. I'd like to keep my hosting costs down assuming that it's reasonable) Thanks in advance! -Sootah

  • 503 service unavailable when debugging PHP script in Zend Studio

    I have a web server with apache 2.0 installed. It comes with Zend Server install pack. When I’m trying to debug my php files apache serves a blank page with 503 service unavailable. Of course slow server-side code is tying up Apache requests for far too long, but I need it to wait, until my debugging comes to end. When I call to the page from a browser it launches ZendStudio debugging my PHP script (request redirects Zend Debugger module). I debug through my script and if I finish debugging in 120 seconds, I normally return to the browser. When it takes more than 120 seconds the browser displays '503 service unavailable' and I can't return to page output. I have even forced 'max_execution_time = 300' 'max_input_time = 600' in php.ini and 'TimeOut = 500' in httpd.conf. No matter whether it is Opera, IE or Firefox. I spent two days googling it, no right answer until now.
