• How do I submit really big amounts of data to a form?

  I have an HTML from that's posting a really big amount of data which is eventually being saved into an SQL Server 2005, the form is as follows: <form name="frmForm" method="post" action="saveData.aspx"> the target page takes the content of a control within the form and saves it to the database through a normal SQL insert statement. However only a portion of the data is being saved. The field in the database is an ntext. Should I use a different field? Or is something happening while I'm transferring from one page to another? Or even still there's something happening when I'm sending the really big SQL statement through c# in saveData.aspx?

• How do I write a spec for a Rails route that does redirecting?

  I am using Omniauth in my Rails project, and I'll like to hide "/auth/facebook" behind a "/login" route. In fact, I wrote a route: match "/login", :to => redirect("/auth/facebook"), :as => :login and this actually works, i.e. a link to login_path will redirect to /auth/facebook. However, how can I write a (rspec) spec to test this route (specifically, the "redirect" option)? Do note that /login is not an actual action nor method defined in application. Thanks in advance!

  Hi I've just started learning rails and been going through some tutorials from learning rails (http://www.buildingwebapps.com/podcasts/79335-putting-the-page-contents-into-the) The tutorials appear to be Rails v2 and I'm on Rails v3 There is a line in the routes file which appears to be causing a problem map.view_page ':name', :controller => 'viewer', :action => 'show' The line works for the front end view i.e. my viewer controller but not for the back end I get the error NoMethodError in Viewer#show I think this has something to do with the view I am using and the line <%= @page.body %> I know it's difficult without the full code but if anyone can help that would be awesome

  I'm trying to crop a photo to use in a Live Wallpaper but I'm getting a FileNotFoundException when the crop activity tries to save my new cropped image.   Hi there, I am working on an iPhone version of a website, and I am using jQuery .animate() with the scrollTop attribute to scroll to different sections of the page. Something like so: $('html,body').animate({ scrollTop: distance }, 300); On regular web browsers, the scrolling starts from the current window position to the desired position. On the iPhone, the window jumps back to the top of the document before scrolling to the desired position. This is apparently the intended action, but the pages just don't look good with all that movement. Alternatively, on Google.com for the iPhone, when the autosuggest is activated, there is a nice simple scroll to show the autosuggest options below the search box. That's what I'd like to do...

• Is it possible to disable the iPhone's automatic hyperlinks?

  We send out a notification email whenever we have "phishing" emails reported to us. In these emails, we include a copy-paste of the text inside the original phishing email as a sample of what is reported to us. Our code strips all hyperlinks out of the email via PHP, but still includes (in plain text) the link. When users receive this email in their client (Thunderbird, Outlook, Horde/IMP, etc), the hyperlink is removed. However, the iPhone likes to take web addresses in plain text and automatically turn them into hyperlinks. Is there any possible way to stop this action from happening via a HTML tag or by using PHP to replace certain parts of the hyperlink?

It seems the browser make me wait until the file is completed downloaded, and then I have the open/save dialog box. I expected the dialog box immediately, and then the progress bar in action... Maybe I have to add something in the Http header... Something like the size of the file?

  I have a strange problem where an onclick event on an input image is being fired when i hit enter in input text box <form id="MyForm" action="/someaction"> <input type="image" src="someimage.jpg" onclick="doStuff();$('#MyForm').submit();" /> <input type="text" name="textInput"/> </form> When the cursor is in the text box and i hit enter, rather than the form being submitted it calls the onclick event on the image input. • Finding out event that called a CGI script

  What I want is to be able to make my CGI script do different things depending on what action initiated the calling of the script. For example, if one button is pressed, a database is cleared. If another button is pressed, a form is submitted and that data is added to the database. Should I be doing something like adding the name of the form/button to the end of the POST data submitted in jQuery and then .poping it off in the script? Or is there some other data that's already sent in the POST that I could get from FieldStorage that would give me the information I need to decide what the script should do when it's called? And what if I wasn't using javascript? Would I have to have a hidden field that gets submitted with the name of the form/button? Or is it best to use a different target script for each button on a page?

But the same code without the pdf filename i.e var newwin=window.open("","Window1","menubar=no,width=430,height=360,toolbar=no"); opens up the popup window and show the print dialog box. • How to I reference a pointer from a different class

  Hey team of awesomeness!, (Iphone Objective-C question) First off, I despise singletons with a passion. Though I should probably be trying to use one, I just dont want to. I want to create a data class (that is instantiated only once by a view controller on loading), and then using a different class, message the crap out of that data instance until it is brimming with so much data, it smiles. So, how do i do that? I made a pointer to the instance of the data class when I instantiated it. I'm now over in a separate view controller, action occurs, and I want to update the initial data object. I think I need to reference that object by way of pointer, but I have no idea how to do that. yes I've set properties and getters and setters, which seem to work, but only in the initial view controller class. • Security when writing a PHP webservice?

  I am writing a web service in PHP for the first time and had ran into some security problems. 1) I am planning to hash passwords using md5() before I write them to the database (or to authenticate the user) but I realize that to do that, I would have to transmit the password in plaintext to the server and hash it there. Because of this I thought of md5()ing it with javascript client side and then rehashing on the server but then if javascript is disabled, then the user can't login, right? 2) I have heard that anything that when the action is readonly, you should use GET but if it modifies the database, you should use POST. Isn't post just as transparent as GET, just not in the address bar?

• Is it possible to make a script/plugin for Finder to toggle hidden files without relaunching?

  There are several ways how to toggle hidden files in Finder - via a shell command, or AppleScript, or Automator action, or even a Dashboard widget. All of them are doing the same thing and unfortunately require to close and reopen Finder windows, which is quite annoying. On the other hand, for the Open File dialog one can easily toggle hidden files by pressing Command+Shift+Period. Is it possible to make a script or plugin for Finder to toggle hidden files w/o relaunching? How would you make it?

• MVC Serve audio files while preventing direct linking using HttpResponseBase

  I need to be able to serve audio files to an mvc app while preventing direct access. Ideally the page would render with a player control so the user can start/stop the audio linked to the database record (audio files are in a folder not the db). I have a controller action like this: Response.Clear(); Response.ContentType = "audio/wav"; Response.TransmitFile(audioFilename); Response.End(); return Response; and the view uses the RenderAction method <% Html.RenderAction("ServeAudioFile"); %> this works but it won't display inline on the existing view, it opens a new page with just the media control. Am I totally barking up the wrong tree or is there a way to embed the response in the existing view? works exactly as I would like but I can't control access to the file.

My doubts is, How can I get the informations from the View and save it by a repository in my Controller ? • Open Folder within ClearCase Remote Client using Windows Explorer

  Is there a way to open the folder location of a file from within CCRC? While I know I can open/copy from directly within CCRC, it is often useful to work directly with the file from within Windows Explorer. I am looking for something like "open file location" or "open in windows explorer". The folder within CCRC does not appear to allow opening it directly as the double-mouse-click action just expands the tree listing. The path is listed/copyable within the "ClearCase Details" tab, but I am trying to take my laziness to a whole new level by being able to open the folder with a single click. Is there some way of knowing from which page my form was submitted?
