  • Are there existing web sites that use a photo as a electronic signature?

    The use case: to sign a electronic document, users view the document, and if they agree take a picture of themselves with their webcam (done through Flash from the browser). Then a PDF is generated containing the document and the picture in place of signature. This is a biometric signature, which is not as strong as a digital (cryptographic) signature, but stronger than having users draw their signature, as a photo is harder to forge than a drawn signature. Has anyone seen this technique being used on an existing web site?

More specifically if I wanted a way to track, for my PC at work, it's internet usage on a per application/service basis (e.g. browser vs calendar synch service etc), would SQUID for Windows help me here? (i.e. would it act as a transparent proxy for anything running on my PC, then keep a history of internet usage against which process requested the access)

  • set equal height on multiple divs

    I need to set equal height on a series of divs inside another div wrapper. The problem is that I dont want the same height on all of them. The page kind of have 3 columns and the floating divs can be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide. The divs float left, so the following example will give me three rows of divs in my wrapper. How can I set equal height on the divs that are in the same row? In my example I want nr 1 and 2 to have equal height and 3, 4 and 5 another equal height? I cant know beforehand how many divs there is or how wide or high they are. Edit: They can be for instance 300, 600 or 900 px wide and the page width is 900px <div id="wrapper"> <div class="one-wide">nr1</div> <div class="two-wide">nr2</div> <div class="one-wide">nr3</div> <div class="one-wide">nr4</div> <div class="one-wide">nr5</div> <div class="three-wide">nr6</div> </div> Im thinking I somehow need to figure out when the added width of the divs is at the full page width and set equal height on those. Based on Section 0 of the license, the common notion is that the entire web application (the client side javascript) falls under the definition of a covered work: A “covered work” means either the unmodified Program or a work based on the Program. and that it will therefor have to be distributed under the same license Ok, so here comes the fun part: This is a short 'program' that is based on Ext JS var myPanel = new Ext.Panel(); The question that arises is: Have I now violated the GPL by not including the source of Ext JS and its license? Just to make it clear, I'm pro FLOSS, and I have also published a number of projects licensed under more permissive licenses.     Hi all, I have a weird bug in IE7. http://www.luukratief-design.nl/dump/simplefolio/ the navigation has to be centered. same goes for the background. Now every browser does it perfectly. even IE6! (didnt do pngfix yet). The only one who is having problems is IE7 who shifts the whole navbar element to the right. Anyone knows how this is possible?

I'm trying to view a page that inherits from a master page in my solution, but I see this: "The Master Page file 'Site.master' cannot be loaded." The page exists, I can browse to it, view it in design view and do stuff. When the site is loaded in the browser, it works fine. Any ideas?

    Greetings, I am trying to figure out which C/C++ compiler to use. I found this list of C/C++ compilers at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_compilers#C.2FC.2B.2B_compilers I am fairly certain that I want to go with an open source compiler. I feel that if it is open source then it will be a more complete compiler since many programmer perspectives are used to make it better. Please tell me if you disagree. I should mention that I plan on learning C/C++ mainly to program 2D/3D game applications that will be compatible with Windows, Linux, MAC and iPhone operating systems.     I'm running into a problem where a Server 2003 SP2 box has started crashing roughly once an hour, BSODing out with the message that fltmgr.sys is probably the cause. I ran dumpchk.exe on the memory.dmp file, indicating the same thing. Any thoughts on typical root causes?   • Imitate database in C

    I am fairly new to C. (I have good knowledge of C# [Visual Studio] and Java [Eclipse]) I want to make a program that stores information. My first instinct was to use a database like SQL Server. But I don't think that it is compatible with C. So now I have two options: Create a struct (also typedef) containing the data types. Find a way to integrate SQLite through a C header file Which option do you think is best? Or do you have another option? I am kind of leaning toward making a struct with a typedef, but could be pursuaded to change my mind.

  • Cascading switches: uplink to uplink?

    I'm a bit confused as to why I haven't seen any references online to using Switch A's uplink port (1Gbps, 24-port 10/100) to connect to Switch B's uplink port: everything I've seen -- including documentation, forums, articles, etc. -- has Switch A's uplink port going to one of Switch B's 10/100 access ports. As I understand it, the Uplink port (besides greater speed normally) is no different than another port except that it's "internally crossed-over" so that you can use a straight cable with it. I've also seen documentation on using the uplink port to connect a switch to a gateway router, or even a server, as it provides greater bandwidth than the access ports, but yet not sure why nobody seems to be cross-uplinking, even when there's 2 uplink ports available on some higher-end switches. Switch in question is Linksys SRW224P (x2). Am I missing something?

  • HTML: how to create a "save as" button?

    In your browser, when you want to save an HTML page that you are currently viewing, you normally go to the File menu and click Save As. Can I have a little button at the bottom of an HTML page that does the same thing? So instead of going to the File menu - Save As, I want my user to be able to click the button to save the page on to the disk. There is a solution exists using Javascript as far as I know, but it only works for IE. See here: link text
